Welcome to the 7 DEADLY SINS mod, as featured in PC GAMER by DANMAN .

 

Welcome to 7 Deadly Sins 2.5 FINAL for the latest version of Sins Entrenchment 1.053.
7DS can only be played at HIGH maximum settings. DO NOT USE VERY HIGH settings. This will cause a minidump. Also, there is an issue with Win7 64 bit. You will get crashes, load errors, or the game will not even play, with or without warning. Just keep reloading the game and trying until you actually get into the game and play. This is a Windows problem, not a problem with Sins or 7DS.

So, now I know what you want...a list of what YOU, the player, is actaully getting with this mod. Well, here is a non-inclusive list:

11 brand new colonizable planet types
Colonizable Gas Giants, with new types of Gas Giants
5 Colonizable Stars - you colonize the moons that orbit them

Over 80 brand new planetary bonuses, including negative ones -even one that can completely sterilize the world for the remainder of the game.

1 New Super Massive Black Hole - at the center of some solar systems
2 Black Holes - will destroy your ships

New classes of strikecraft squadrons and Capitalships/Dreadnoughts/Titans with fixed number of Squadrons
Cruiser Squads of 3 strikecraft
Capital Squadrons of 6 strikecraft; largely used by Hangars
Titan Wings of 9 strikecraft; also used by Starbases

 

Mobile Starbases -all races possess starbases that can move about the gravity well to interdict enemy forces -assault carefully.

 

12 Playable Races with their own traits that make them more unique, from being a total offensive race, to a highly researching race. Each race now has its own unique tactics of gameplay.

Trader Emergency Coalition- solely based on trade and swarming, with little military might
Corpo-Nations that have rebelled against the Trade Order. Their military might stripped, they have turned to allying themselves with various factions and hiring mercs for protection.
TEC has new Battlecruisers, mercenary contracts, and EMP shells that bypass shields to a small degree.
Trade Coalition Armada- the military arm of the Trade Order
Once the development arm of the Trade Order, they are now the last hope for the Trade Order and humanity. Their ships are bricks with extreme range railguns.

TCA has state of the art weapons on traditional capitalships plus the Dresden and Athena Dreadnought and Beta Kol Titan.
The Orion Unity- modified Orion and Advent Combine
Some Orion split with the Atlantian-Orion Combine to guide the Advent towards their ultimate evolutionary stage. TOU ships are stronger, faster and deadlier; They can even travel between worlds using the Phase Stabilizer technology of the Tempest Titan.
Ship research boosts weapon performance.

DARK FLEET- modified Vasari
The Dark Fleet is all that remains of the Vasari. Where the weak Exodus ran often and fought rarely, the Dark Fleet seeks total dominion through force of arms. Their 5 Titan ships roam looking for prey.
Play style is familiar with greater armor, firepower and destructive potential.

Imperial Armada- from Star Wars
Guided by a clone of General Thrawn, the wasteland armadas of the Imperial Armada can employ powerful Force Alchemical Technology and even unleash the power of the Executor Super Star Destroyer.
Can unlock Jedi and/or Sith Holocrons for performance boost to defenses or offenses respectively -and at the expense of the other.

Rogue Cadre- Playable, custom pirates
Rob, pilfer, and steal your way to greatness. The Rogue Cadre is a melting pot of human cultures, Advent refugees and what remains of the Vasari. They have gathered against the TCA, TOU, Atlantian-Orion Combine and TOC to free humanity from tyranny, mysticism and slavery.
Posess the Precursor Titan and The Machine -the latter capable of capturing capitalships

Arilou Vanguard- UFO race from the Star Control Games
Not being of this dimension, the Arilou do not rely on money and normal means of transport or construction. They simply spawn ships from their "motherships", and travel through Quasispace, which propels them at near instant speeds from planet to planet.

Ur-quan KohrAh Third Doctrinal Fleet- Death race from the Star Control games
Totally aggressive, the Korh-Ah are built for battle. They are all offense, and barely any defense. They focus on exterminating every race and every planet they find, and almost every ship is capable of boming from orbit. Their goal is to "cleanse" the universe of all other sentient life, anything that is not an Ur-Quan.

Ur-Quan KzerZa Third Doctrinal Fleet- Slaving race from the Star Control games
Unlike their Kor-Ah cousins, the Kzer-Za believe in a diplomatic approach, let alone old habits of enslaving entire races into their Hierarchy. They have grown from their 10,000 year old ways, and are more good than bad now.

Atlantian-Orion Combine- the ultimate race, the seeders of life (the gods)
The Combine are part of the original Creator Alliance and responsible for seeding galaxies with genetic data. The Orion are the protectors and defenders until the Atlantian vessels can be fielded. Their greatest strength is their technology, but the loss of labs remove bonuses gained from research.

Taalo Horde- Ancient Rock race, from the Star Control games
As if the universe itself groaned for a protector, the Taalo have awakened from a million year slumber only to find old allies -the Atlantians and Arilou stripping the galaxy of semi-sentient flo-metal. They are the ultimate enviromental defender with a naive sense of justice. They have incorporated alien technology into their asteroid bodies with great results.

Triad of Creation- Ancient Destroyers of Worlds, Galactic Enslavers
The Triad of Creation, the Dnyarri, Antaran and Lapis, seek to eradicate all life in the universe. They nearly destroyed the Atlantian-Orion Combine in the Ori galaxy by turning their creation -the Vasari- against them. They emerged from within the Rogue Cadre taking a sizeable portion of their population into slavery. Their fleets struck the Taalo and Dark Fleet with vessels designed for infiltration nearly crippling the two factions.

This looks like a lot of things to be added to Sins, DANMAN, but this might seem like a bit much for some, so is there any way to shut off individual parts of the mod or something?Example: I do not feel fine with the whole rouge star concept, and adding in a star wars AND star trek mod bothers me as well. Everything else is fine - black holes, different star colors/types, Sins plus, moons, atlantians, etc. is there a way to turn off those parts of the mod while still providing the other parts of the mod?This mod sounds good and i really want to play it, but i am afraid that all the Data from the collections of mods will slow my crappy computer down even more. I already have sins plus, which was a great mod, and i'm sure this mod will be uber awesome.  


I think Danman said something somewhere else about making seperate releases with less content once the mod is mostly complete. Otherwise, there are some ways to delete the things you don't want that instructions to do have been provided somewhere in the 38 pages of this post -_-. In short, maybe we can suggest to dan that those instructions to remove unwanted addons be included in the next release :).

I will do just that.
Tkaing out races is easy, just delete the race entity file. Removing the Rogue stars, you'll need a new GalaxyDef file for that, unless ytou know how to edit it right.
I understand this mod may not be for everyone right now. turst me, in the future, and when I have time, I will release more parts of the mod separately, especially to keep up Solar Sins and Sins Plus. After I get the new planets finalized, I put out a new Sins Plus. A new Solar Sins will be done soon as well.

Within the current version, Gas Giants are fully colonizable, you just have to unlock it through research. I put moons around the gas giants, so imagine you actually colonize them, or you have a floating city, like in Empire Strikes Back.

one obseravtion i have made about the mod is that metal deposits seem to have taken places with crystal while using the mods, in any big game i always end up with tons of crystal and hardly any metal, alot of the planets i go to seem to be pure ctystal, but then some of then dont, there dosent seem to be a pattern i can see, but alot more planets are pure crystal than pure metal. i dont really know a source of the problem to tell you why that happens, unless 100% planet bonus density does that.

Sorry if this has been posted or asked, but im having a crashbug with the latest version of this awesome mod, i try to enable it in sins 1.05 and i hear the music after a while, but then a minidump crash just appears :(

If this is a known issue, how do i fix it?
Also, will you be adding the new graphics mod as soon as the download link for that is up? :)

I'm so glad you are able to play. I know Vista has big problems with all the graphics, and Sins in general. Try to see if there is an updated driver available. I doubt its your rig, those stats kick tail.UEF:Thanks man.Canadaman:Glad you like!DANMAN


Update on my crash issue, 7DS worked perfectly in vista, however im now running in XP, and i get the minidump (same drivers as i used in vista).
So i doubt its a vista issue ^_^


EDIT: it seems i may have stumbled upon the reason for my minidump crash when enabling the mod..
You see, i thought that maby it crashed because i didnt copy the galaxy forge files you also linked there, so i did that and copied those into my main gameinfo folder. This caused the game to crash at startup after the intro movie, rather than when just enabling the mod..

If this edited GalaxyScenarioDef.galaxyScenarioDef file is in the modfolder, that is most definetly the reason for my minidump issue.. Any chance you can check it out to see if anything is "wierd" or anyway to run the mod properly without that file?
Hope it helps someone :)

EDIT 2: Nope, still crashes with that file removed :P Guess the game just has issues reading any modified files what so ever with my drivers :/

UPDATE:
FouracesII is working on a music video for 7 DEADLY SINS. I looks awesome.
As of right now, the Korh-Ah have 4 capships ready for 2.0, and tons of new voice over sounds.

I am also working on the Star Wars merge, Max Teal merge, and Battlewagon merge.

I have also started another website for myself, and will serve as my personal webpage, and also an "offical" site for 7 DEADLY SINS, and will feature all the screenshots, races history, installation instructions, readme's, etc. It will also have all the links for the downloads and forum pages. I will post the link when it is ready.

After this weekend, I will be going away on vacation for a week. I'm going camping, so no computer! I will do my best to give you all something before I go, but I don't think that will happen. Most likely 2.0 is about another 2 weeks away or more.
Bailknight and WLd are about to release new versions, so I may wait for them to finish up.

Anyways, if any of you need anything, post today! I'll try to answer everyone by today or tomorrow.

Please please please provide a version without any new races, when you merge the star wars etc mods. I truly love this mod (and got it to work by copying it straight into the game folder), but i dont like any of the races, nor do i wish to see a bunch of tie fighters flying around :P

I know that its just a matter of removing the playerSomething files, but then you are still left with leftover meshes/textures/sounds for no use :P
It'd be a smaller download too due to the new meshes/voiceovers/textures not being included. Just everything except the new races.

And it would be awesome if you could get the new Bailknight and WLd mod versions included before you go on your vacation XD (If they have released them by then that is)

Then what you are asking for is the Solar Sins mod. I will try to update that for you. Solar Sins IS 7 DEADLY SINS, with all the races taken out, but still has all the graphic enhancements and the new stars and such. I will try to at least get a new version of that up before I leave.

Also, glad you love the mod. It's ok if you don't like the races, they are not for everyone.
