Too Much Rook

Too Much Rook

Some people won't agree with me, but I'm gonna come out and say it. Rook needs to be nerfed. I've played all three characters and both regulus and the torchbearer played great and kept the game intresting and fun to the end. But when I played Rook, I dominated, completely, I took out one of their portals, killed a bunch of Demigods no problem, and died only about three times because of my health steal from buildings. I dont know how you would go about nerfing him, exept, maybe make his powers, like archer towers and damage bouneses weaker. The fact is, he is stronger, has more health and has some powers that are stronger than any other demigods. Still, thats just my opinion.

i still think Rook is OP cause i had 2k dmg with 1.20 atk speed and was able to walk past all the enemies defences and smash his stronghold single handedly to win the game
End of strikersgun's quote

Sort of but not really.

Well, we're not at the balancing part of Demigod. To less is implemented, but what striker says, coincides with my comments about Towers/Rook etc.

@Kyrein, you can abort skills by just giving an walk order - its called "Animationcanceling" and is quite important for faster chaining of skills/actions.

@striker, Rook's ridicoulus power comes from a wrong calculation of God's Strength it also includes items to the +200%. Posted this "bug"/issue in another thread already.

@tesb, yeah i think you're right, the range is kinda low, even for a full skilled Regulus. Imo, a skilled regulus should be able to shoot far further than he can see by himself, so a scounting ally could give him support by just standing around so he got sight on the opponent. Range of a Catapulosaurus would be cool.

So long, Aspartem :snowman:

If you get the stun gloves on reg you can own rook a lot easier.  Making how much damage he can do not as important.  The slow+stun allows you to kite him indefinitely as long as you can dodge the stun (and the range you have gives you enough to do that).  The only problem is that it only takes 10s to cd so dodging it everytime is impossible.  And once oyu get hit, its gonna be bad.  Double it and if you dodge it 1x/2x that should be all you need to do before he dies.

The damage on rook is meant to be like that.  You're not going to be hitting for that much until late in the game where other characters can have just as good items to stop you.  I've played games where I was hitting 2200 damage on towers and taking them down quickly, but they had dual stun glove regulus that could pretty much own me as soon as one of them could hit me (even one of them could drastically slow my dps by stunning).  Sure you have wand of elusiveness, but that even more money making you effective even later in which case they could have even better items.

If we are going to start balancing don't do it the stupid way.  Where you just look at everything and say wow, such and such ability is really strong.  When in fact its not that ability but the combination of his abilities.  If you nerf stun, the 200% damage isn't going to be as big.  If you nerf damage, the stun isn't going to be as big, ect.  So just nerf one thing at a time until the balance is achieved, don't just nerf 5 billion things at once then have everyone complain next patch that rook sucks.  Because if you nerf GS, boulder, AND hammer, rook is going to suck.

it ate my edit..

2k dmg, 1.2atk spd is 1,666DPS.  Regulas and TB can both get like 700 DPS, but they're ranged.

I think the numbers are high for both, really..  Things start getting crazy after level 15 :x
