This is the official thread for the Sins of the 13th Tribe mod.

Please note that it only works for Entrenchment v1.05

This is a total conversion mod, so the TEC, Advent, and Vasari are no longer playable

The Colonials and Cylons are now playable races

Known Bugs:

  • Some ships do not have names or are improperly named
  • Colonials still glow occasionally

If you have any ideas for abilities, or want to report a bug, please post here. I will try to keep you up to date on progress.

v0.96 Changes

  • Entrenchment v1.05 compatability
  • Fixed String not found errors for the Galactica's colonize ability and the Worldstar's extra squadrons ability
  • Temporarily removed the custom static defense structures, so there will not be any more bug reports about the meshes reverting to the unmodded forms
  • The Cloud 9 is now correctly called the Cloud 9
  • New weapon sound effects for the Galactica+Mercury

Please, if you play this, report back here any balancing problems, particullarly in terms of research.

I like the Basestar model Larkis. It would look even better if the inner part was redone a little bit. eg. raider slots, more windows

There are Detailed Raiderslots, but there are to small. Yo ucan't see them very good on this distance.

 

And Lights thats right, i must look, where are the lights on that Ship.^^

I have one question.  It's not something that really bothers me much, but more of a curiosity for cosmetics.  The models utilizing the original series base star show only the model, in glowing white with no textures.  Is there a way to correct that, or is it just mine doing it?  But as I said, it's not something that bothers me overly much, especially as I usually have either the galactica or pegasus shooting at it, lol.  Seriously though, any help would be appriciated.  LOVE THIS MOD!!!!!!

Don't worry, it's not just you. That model has no texture yet, still waiting for Kreeargh on that one:P

I found a website with about 35, canon and non-canon, ship drawings from battlestar galactica. They are very detailed and could possibly be used as a basis for new ship models in the game. Is it against the Forum rules to post web addresses?

A question to the fans?

 

Do you think its good that the Colonials firing so much Rockets?  I mean in the series the battlestars never Shoot Rockets. Using Bullets-Effects for the Colonial Weapons, it would be more like the Series :)

You can post links to other sites, as long as they aren't inappropriate (pr0n, etc). I'm pretty sure you'll be good:P That being said, *most* of the ships are already done for the mod. But go ahead and post it anyway.

Some good News :)

 

kyogre12 and me, we would work together to made this Mod perfectly. my Part is the redesign of the Textures and some models of the Ships. :)

Some of those designs from that website are impressive. Are there plans to use any. It would be cool to have some in. BTW are you still releasing something before christmas.

Yes, some of them are pretty cool. But the problem is that they are only drawings, not models. So they would still have to actually be made. So I don't know if they will be used or not.

Yes, a release is still planned for before Xmas. I'm shooting for the 21st at the latest.

I finally was able to download the mod, and i just played it, first of all the ship sizes and textures still need to be worked on, but hey its a WIP second, those gama basestars are just annoying, if your gonna give the Cylons a Cruiser-Capital Ship you gotta give the Colonials one too, like the Galactica Class Battlestar, make them not as strong as the capital ships, because after all, they would probably be reactivated or they are newer versions. Plus i think i suggested this before, but why not add the TOS Battlestar for the dreadnaught, that would be amazing to have tos and RDM fighting side by side. Also the Valkyrie model is a tad bit wrong, they are not stabilizers near the engines.

How comes all the ships have Red engines instead of blue?

Its a team color issue.  In Sins, just like Homeworld 2, exhaust is automatically colored to match team colors.
