Game is way to unbalanced

Game is way to unbalanced

I'm leaving the Demigod community until they make some serious changes to the balancing of the game. Specifically Regulus, he is rediculiously overpowered.

-Mines that cant be destroied even of you see them, taking out well over half your health and slowing you down.

-Sniping you across the map, which means you have to turn around and head back to base because you are way to disadvanted to fight anyone.

-Ability to shoot auto attack further than anyone can so you cant reach him.

There is NO counter to him. If you chase him as melee, he just runs a few feet back and then continues to shoot/snipe you. And then throw mines at your feet, you are dead. If you are TB or someone else, sure youll get one hit on him with a fireball or spit from UB but he will just turn around and run.

I have noticed that everygame I lose, has regulus on the other team.  I also have noticed Regs are always higher level (2-3 levels higher) and have the most kills than anyone. Which I can understand since he can get the last shot in, but thats not what concerns me. I dont care so much about getting shot across the map with no skill or danger and getting killed because of it. I have a problem with the fact that he takes 0 skill to play. That is an imbalance. Snipe..Throw Mines, Run if they get close...Snipe should have  1 minute cooldown, mines shouldnt explode if they are thrown at your feet. Also if you can SEE THE MINES, you should be able to KILL THE MINES. This is just one of the demigods that have problem, I mention it because its the most noticable.

I dont care if you dont agree, and im sure someone will come to this thread and make immature comments and nerd jargon at me. These are the people who play Reg and dont have skill.

Peace out, hope this game gets playable.

Agreed!

Everything else: Disagree.

I do have a slight issue with Regulus being able to outrange a tower... but it isn't a big problem in my eyes.

Summerisation: Regulus is pefectly fine, and I never even play as him. Instead of complaining about how he can do this and that learn how to play against him.

I allready said that he is fine. I don't see him as unbalanced/op. Thats the reason why I feel no need to "learn how to play against him" that is quite easy.

It's just my opinion that the way regulus now is sucks much fun out of demigod.

And he and with him the whole game could be more fun with some little tweaks.

Every Demigod matchup without regulus is like a good match of chess, parcheesi or poker: A test of skill & luck (but with different ratios).

If Regulus comes into play it is like your grumpy wife or mom comes into the room and says " You have played enough today, do at least something useful and bring the garbage out" and snipes away all your cards/pawns. It's a viable and fair skill but you can't do anything against it and it destroys the fun

NERF TB! HE'S SO OP!!!!

Sorry, had to.

Did it ever occur to you that Regulus has amazingly low hitpoints?

Erebus: charge at reg and wait for the mines. He'll throw them, it's his job. Then you can batswarm to him, skipping the mines entirely, or send a little rollie through first :) Boom. Sorry rolly, but it just looks so cute when you explode. Fight him until you've lost 750 health, then bite. Repeat as necessary. He'll die eventually.

Rook: Wait for him to begin capturing a flag, TP in, boulder roll, hammer slam. Dead. Chances are, the mines didn't even hurt you that much. You're frigging rook.

Oak: One word. Shield. Rah rah rah, I can't be hurt or slowed!

UB: Miiinnnd gaaaammeees. Run up, turn around and run away. Spit if you have it. Keep running back and forth until he gets comfortable trying to get shots off and turn around. Avoid the mines, come for him (turn on that wonderful ooze if you have it, -40% attackspeed at max level much?) Boom, you ain't runnin from the fastest character in the game, plus slows and stuns. Fun for the whole unclean family!

TB: Fail. Faiiiil. Why are you TB? And against Reg? Only Allfather knows.

QoT: I have absolutely no idea. Continue to throw minions at his mines like all other generals. But I don't play QoT, and have never had a problem with her on the occasions that I've played regulus.

Hope that helps.

the umpteenth XXX is OP thread.

I think the only people that are allowed to say "XXX is OP" are XXX players that never lose.

Unless you're one of them, try to be one of them. If you can't then you are wrong.

All i have to say is wow.  What is with all these XXX is OP threads.  99.99999999999999999999% of these things dont even crticize valid issues.

Sorry but I play Reg.  It is micro intesive.  I play him for max attack.  Guess what, to do this I skip MarkofBetrayer, and Snipe.  And guess what else. I tend to not have Armor/hp stuff... I dont have the money or slots for it.  I need speed and dmg.

Wanna know how to beat a good Reg.  Hit him.  As a reg player I hope that your intimidated, so you run, and dont actually hit me.  Mines do decent dmg, but at max, its no better really than any other Demi.   And Reg has almost no Hp compaired to others.

It seems to me that the real issue is people who are not that good.  Most of us are all new.  The game is not that old.  Once the metagame establishes, and we all figure out how to play, it will get more and more micro intensive.  Some Demis seem easier for new people die to simplicity, but in reality any Demi can be OP is controlled by a good player.

Plz offer small ballance suggestions rather than rand about getting your butt kicked.

I doubt any more posts will matter any more since the OP has declared himself absent from the Demigod community.

I have just this to say: take Regulus yourself and watch how other players counter your apparently 0-skill-required tactics.

Sorry if this is inpolite but I loughed as I read that :')

Perhaps is a Oak with full set of minions and idols the Demigod equivalent of micro intensive.

But Regulus and micro intensive? What do you do whats so "intesive"? Or was that just suble irony?

But yeah I think I shouldn't beat a dead horse. It was just a nice occasion to talk about Regulus fundestroying abillity

Please read the very first post, and my subsequent posts. I could understand you saying this IF I did not offer any solution, but I did, as did another poster in here.

And I gave you the best advice to prove your theory: Attempt to play an invincible Regulus  yourself. If you succeed, you may have a point. Otherwise you are wrong or even less skilled than those with no skill.

Or maybe it just balances out.

Regulus can kill and then some, but he can't control a map for shit. And when the game comes down to map control, it shows just how weak he can be.

I'm no pro player by any means, but dealing with Regulus mines is stupidly easy:

  1. Let creaps take the hit
  2. Oak shields and walks over them
  3. QoT shields and walks over them
  4. Sedna walks over them and heals
  5. Erebus bat-swarms past the mines

Don't go talking rubbish about the game being unbalanced when you are simply too ignorant to find other alternatives. They are there, there are even more counters than what I have suggested.

I would go so far as to say DG is one of the best balanced games out of the box I have played, ever. It's not 100% perfect, but no game ever is.

Edit: when I posted this, Homer Simpson said, "thats boring, quit boring everyone". FFS that can not be good.

I see you've never played Guilty Gear or Guild Wars(during it's prime... sadly, Guild Wars has... changed).

Reg is fine....

I think QoT could use her skills revamped. As uproot is kinda noob to get.

Rook should have more base armor. Towers could scale better....end game rooks seem weak to me. level 15+

Erebus is still decent after his "nerf"..... If you can't kill a reg then its ur own fault. Adapt, he has Mines and Mark. If snipe is killing you buy a damn combat potion and stop being a noob. You can easily EXPECT a snipe with no problem. Think outside the box.. Mines  can be a little harder to deal with. What does he really have without them though? ...Reg is greedy. W/o expensive gear he is gimp. In my book more than 2 points into snipe is gimp. Snipe end game is fail. I don't see the problems here.

What about Oak shield/Heart of life? You ever got boulder roll/hammer slam by a good rook? Even more so if its and erebus/ub/rook 3stuns  and a lot of burst dmg.

This reg is OP shit should have died in April.

Not the best, just one of the best. Now how the ****ing hell do I get rid of stupid Homer. Grrr

Regulus has zero lasting power at a flag, all he can do is flee most of time. If you really have troubles with him, play UB or Erebus, they eat him for breakfast all the time.

Always carry a quick potion so you don't get sniped while fleeing

Let creeps eat the mines, use minion or just go around them if you see them.

That said, good riddance, don't need people whining everytime they lose to a particular DG.

I can't see anyone yet claiming QoT is OP, but there is always one...

A shield spamming QoT is quite OP imo, but otherwise she's quite worthless.

Heh yeah... in a dedicated team support role QoT can have an impact on a game that blows anything that Reg can do out of the water lol.

I'm collecting achievements right now, so got to get some playtime with all the chars... and it really does make you appreciate the various strenghts and flaws. As far as Regulus goes... i seriously have to laugh at people worried about "snipe", or any "single" damage skill....  when you can build melee characters with 5-7khp in midgame already.

Snipe lv 1 is already quite weak (550dmg on max range, 350 close range). Most smart players retreat well before 1000 hp if enemy team has Regulus.

Kill steal? You'd rather have the team gain 1000G than 1700G??

Regulus need all the money he can get. He's nigh impossible to stop with right items. With enough money at end game you'd be glad he's on your team and you invested in him.

Yep, decided to get it another go, played a 3v3 against 2 regs and a UB. Needless to say, got wiped becaues we could never get close to, let alone see the Regulus's and they just picked us off with snipe every 10 seconds + heavens wrath. 2 snipes took me down to lil above half health, so i have no choice, if i stick around to do ANYTHING the UB will spit on me, and if i go back to base then I dont cap any flags. Again i remind you, this whole time they are UNREACHABLE and picking us off.

So omnipitant ones, how do you counter that? Dont ask what class I was, because it doesnt matter, because you CANNOT attack them, they arent in range. I stacked health, I bought tons of potions, but it didnt matter and wasted a lot of money. Tell me how you counter something you cannot attack and cannot defend and I will shut the **** up.

And your teammates were doing what exactly? 2/3v1 the UB. If the Reguli are half way across the map they won't be able to help him against 2 DG, snipe or no snipe.

Oh, and the cooldown on snipe is 15 seconds(not 10) and on heaven's wrath it's 30 seconds.
