Game is way to unbalanced

Game is way to unbalanced

I'm leaving the Demigod community until they make some serious changes to the balancing of the game. Specifically Regulus, he is rediculiously overpowered.

-Mines that cant be destroied even of you see them, taking out well over half your health and slowing you down.

-Sniping you across the map, which means you have to turn around and head back to base because you are way to disadvanted to fight anyone.

-Ability to shoot auto attack further than anyone can so you cant reach him.

There is NO counter to him. If you chase him as melee, he just runs a few feet back and then continues to shoot/snipe you. And then throw mines at your feet, you are dead. If you are TB or someone else, sure youll get one hit on him with a fireball or spit from UB but he will just turn around and run.

I have noticed that everygame I lose, has regulus on the other team.  I also have noticed Regs are always higher level (2-3 levels higher) and have the most kills than anyone. Which I can understand since he can get the last shot in, but thats not what concerns me. I dont care so much about getting shot across the map with no skill or danger and getting killed because of it. I have a problem with the fact that he takes 0 skill to play. That is an imbalance. Snipe..Throw Mines, Run if they get close...Snipe should have  1 minute cooldown, mines shouldnt explode if they are thrown at your feet. Also if you can SEE THE MINES, you should be able to KILL THE MINES. This is just one of the demigods that have problem, I mention it because its the most noticable.

I dont care if you dont agree, and im sure someone will come to this thread and make immature comments and nerd jargon at me. These are the people who play Reg and dont have skill.

Peace out, hope this game gets playable.

Tell me how you counter something you cannot attack and cannot defend and I will shut the **** up.

Do it the easiest way: Use regulus on your own.

No serious! In many games there is a fotm ("Flavour of the Month" or "Favorite of the Month) skillbuild or itembuild and why don't you do it that way? If 50% of the whole Playerbase play Regulus the devs will devinitely change something :)

And that way you could learn Regulus counters since he's not really OP in the normal sense. It really gets more apparent than this.

And btw since you try to stay with demigod a little longer: Do you leave everygame that has Balance issues? Because on the rpg and rts sector that could't be a endless story

Take WoW for example. That game had nothing whcih could be called balancing at the release and warriors were crap for months after release. But for years WoW was a perfectly balanced game. But added: Everytime there where new skills or changed mechanisms the balancing had to be redone.

The easiest way to beat two regs is to take 2 UBs and spit on them. They don't have the health to stick around, and get your lane all to yourself :)

However, you could also double-QoT them, and shield indefinitely, get two sednas and healtank, get two rooks and just towerpush till you can't be stopped...

I think you get the general idea.

Would be nice to switch DG during the game right. Not much to comment on this thread other than to say it is kind of annoying to fight against Reg players every single game.

Yep, decided to get it another go, played a 3v3 against 2 regs and a UB. Needless to say, got wiped becaues we could never get close to, let alone see the Regulus's and they just picked us off with snipe every 10 seconds + heavens wrath. 2 snipes took me down to lil above half health, so i have no choice, if i stick around to do ANYTHING the UB will spit on me, and if i go back to base then I dont cap any flags. Again i remind you, this whole time they are UNREACHABLE and picking us off.

So omnipitant ones, how do you counter that? Dont ask what class I was, because it doesnt matter, because you CANNOT attack them, they arent in range. I stacked health, I bought tons of potions, but it didnt matter and wasted a lot of money. Tell me how you counter something you cannot attack and cannot defend and I will shut the **** up.

I was in that game.

You should rather stack up on health, buy HoL than use tonnes of potions. Since we were so far away, HoL should have been no brainer to buy. If all of you had HoL, snipe become nearly useless. We didn't find that game easy actually. If your team have at least 2 people to cap a flag, there's no way I could have recap it even with 2 Regulus. If you have held the centre around mid-game, you deny Regulus of artifact items important for his late game power. Regulus scales bad without item support.

You should try play Regulus once or twice. This way you learn his weakness very effectively.

4 regulus team, take Heaven's Wrath. With a well coordinated team, you win.

Yes, I've done it. Yes, it's nigh-unstoppable.

The ability to turn the tides of battles from across the map, in addition to killing towers for free, is just too much. Regulus is not balanced.

That'd take a good team work as well as 8000 favor points.

You are assuming good teamwork here. If the enemy has 2 equally well coordinated QoT with any other DG, that'd be an even match.

i agree with: regulus always overlevels everyone else and regulus always gets a fuckload of kills. but complaining is senseless anyways. im fine as long as there are enough players and decent con etc.

You've never done this against a decent team.

Furthermore, no decent team is going to play against four Regulus.

Ignoring individual character balance for a moment, I think we need to look at the fact that it is possible for many of the General characters to go toe to toe with Assassin characters. The fact that most, of if not all 4 Generals end up being played like assassins indicates to me that; 1.  The game mechanics are not working as intended because Generals playing as generals is not competitively viable and 2. Game balance is not ideal with Generals being able to beat Assassins at their own game.

Firstly, get more hp. It's not as if those items cost much....

As for the sniping, you can just beat that with health regen. If you have 50hp/sec (again doesn't cost a huge amount) you'll heal 1000 damage in 20 seconds. If he's on the other side of the map then you're laughing.

There are counters to everything in the game. If he's chasing you, use a potion. Buy teleports. Learn to play.

For the record I don't play Regulus, don't like the play style, but he is not overpowered. Unless of course you wanna go down the "OMFG EVERYTHING IS OP!!!!" road. In which case I repeat - learn to play.

I didnt think about HoL, which others have mentioned, i will have to take that into consideration. But you cannot deny the fact that you two could take me down to half life with 2 rounds of snipes and heavens wrath. And you know there was nothing I could do to attack you, all you had to do was turn around and run behind your tower until I was weak enough to have to head back to base. I was unaware regulus depended on artifacts.

Reg is not OP.

Snipe is not all that powerful as you scale up, the counter is to stack HP items and HP regen. There is a long cool down and you will regen by the time it refreshes. Also take HoL as mentioned.

Mines are easily counterable. Buy totems of revelation, just drop them near flags, you can see the mines and walk around them. I rarely take damage off mines, if you are always ready for them (wait for animation) then move you will never get hit.

Even if Reg gets to Ashkandor levels, this is counterable by stacking Armour, this will reduce the incoming damage and overall crits (of course this assumes that you are not underlevelled or under cashed). If you are already losing then Ashkandor will just speed it up.

How on earth do people afford 18K Items? I just tried to buy artifacts today, I had to severly lack in gear and not buy any citidale upgrades just to get one of the 11K items.

Hey Porkus I have posted a possible solution for the problem you talk about: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/349885

But to play the advocatus diaboli : What do you want? That generals couldn't stand their ground vs. Assasins?

Sure not or? Because of that GPg did imho a good job at the balance generals vs assasins. It's just a lack of uniqueness of both. Generals are only Assasins with idols + 1 minion skill (which is not mandatory to take).

@ all people with the opinion "Regulus is not OP"

Many people actually have problems with the way Regulus plays and how little you can interact with him (if the Reg wants to minimize that).

The opening poster is a great example of how frustrating it can be since he wanted to quit because of that.

So would you be against ways to CHANGE (not nerf) that so people don't feel that much frustrated while keeping Regulus dps/balancing? S

Four regs can easily be beat by 4 rooks with HoL and towers. GG. I saw it happen at a friend's house. Earlygame, the HW combo was wrecking the rooks, but once they all had a few points into towers, they simply pushed the regs into oblivion. The HoL and health+ items made them close to invincible.

Reg gets somewhat OP'd when he starts donning artifacts - then again, which demigod isnt by that stage? Best counter i have found vs Regulus is quite simple - either 1. beef up your HP and be aggressive towards him, the more damage you put on him the less he'll be inclined to stick around, or 2. bring a pet sedna with you.

It's funny how many people watch mines thrown out, know approximately where they have landed and still continue to run over them then bitch -omg mines!! pro tip - go round em.

meh... I do think it would be good that if you can see a mine, you can destroy a mine.

Make AoE effects kill mines maybe?

...should AoE effects also prevent Rain of Ice or Ground Spikes?

efforts at re-balancing should focus on adjusting existing parameters (damage, mana, cast time, cooldown, radius of effect, etc.) rather than fundamentally changing the way ability interacts with the rest of the game.

but i don't even think Mines need re-balancing. they seem fine to me.

LOLOL your bullshit is OP and unbalanced.

Regs are yummeh for a snack most of the time and annoying at worst... I'd love to seea reg hold a lane for more than .5 seconds.
