Patch 1.20 has been released!

Demigod v1.20 (1.20.143 on Impulse)
--------------------------------

I have been having a heck of a time connecting to a game ever since the update, when I go to join a lobby it just sits at the trying to connect screen for ever.

When I tried hosting a game it went non-responsive.

Wow, did this supposed patch fix anything? Game has crashed even more today. lobby doesn't work and wouldn't you know it, the game desynced. The more I play this, the worse it gets.

They aren't unlockable only SD employees can use them for now they need to test against players online.

Or you can play single player.

Yes of course the game desynced. They said they fixed 1 of the problems that were causing desyncs. Just 1.

They are many other ways a game can desync.

And I will wait patiently for the apologies from the maroons that kept shouting me down.

Their "partial list" was essentially a complete list, as I suspected, and there are no new demigods, as I knew there would not be.

This patch basically finally takes Demigod out of beta.  Thank goodness I paid for the privilege of beta testing this game.

I will apologize to you when you apologize for your continued lack of reading comprehension. Wait....no I won't.

Their "partial list" was essentially a complete list, as I suspected,

The differences between the partial and complete change log:

- Added host options to manually control experience and gold rewards given for killing AI players. Default amount reduced slightly.
- Added mod manager (everyone must have the same mods extracted to \bindata\mods folder).
- Added options to enable additional Demigods as the update rolls out

- Fixes for demigods chasing after old targets at inappropriate times.
- Dark Valor flag now included in Fortress mode on Zikurat

Yep, "essentially" the same. I mean, it's not like the complete change log is nearly twice the length of the partial one or anything.....

and there are no new demigods, as I knew there would not be.

*MasssivelyEpicNoseBreakingFacePalm* This has been said time and time again, even in this very thread, but I will repeat it  for the visually impaired:

The new Demigods will be released after v1.2 to select players for beta testing before public release. The reason you "knew" the new DG weren't going to be in v1.2 is because it has been said multiple times, although somehow I get the impression you didn't realize that, thinking they were supposed to be in v1.2 but that SD/GPG would fall back on their "promise."

This patch basically finally takes Demigod out of beta.  Thank goodness I paid for the privilege of beta testing this game.

I'm not sure how 10 games played makes you a beta tester.

LOL, guys when are you going to learn, these are the same morons that put out Sins of a Solar Empire ..constantly put out updates on that game too claiming to have fix the "out of sync problem" finally they just gave up, haven't seen an update for that game in a LONG time ..also they put out patch after patch for that game and you can't even play multiplayer games without losing sync with other players ..These people will put out lots of patches claiming to do things and fix things and nothing will be fixed. If any of you plays Sins then you people know what im talking about. Just another low budget game company looking to make a quick dollar. Releasing games that have no fixes. Putting out patches that fix nothing. Get use to it these people are known to do that and I hope you stardock people read this cause you know its all true. Sins would be a great game if it didn't screw up all the time same with this game. Learn to put out a game properly for once before releasing games that can't handle multiplayer modes.

i think this needs to come out of the patch notes as we've established now that it wasnt fixed.

Large, unbroken, non-sensical paragraph

If you don't like the treatment we're receiving, leave. No one's forcing you to stay here. It's as simple as that. I, for one, am happy with things thus far.

If you're going to troll, please follow the standard protocol for trolls on this forum: Mention HoN, DotA, Warcraft 3 and/or LoL, insult Stardock for being the developers of Demigod and go on to say how you believe Demigod could have been the greatest game ever made, but it's just a terrible mess of code that works for no one, and all the supporters - like me - are actually paid employees of Stardock.

another 7 month?

btw. this patch did not get demigod out of beta. and there are still many bugs from beta left.

tb-fix is not working. and some of the other bugs i yet have not tested but i bet they still exist.

but we got some new bugs at least.

It's a shame you aren't brighter, friend.  The released list and the 'partial' list are essentially the same, and arguing that they aren't is merely showing your phenomenal ignorance.  There is nothing on the released list that wasn't discussed prior to the release.  There is nothing on the list that is not related to the items on the 'partial' list.
What they did was leave off a few aspects of the items on the 'partial' list so that they could claim, for people as foolish as yourself, that, WOW, they released even more 'fixes', almost none of which actually seem to fix the issues.
Secondly, I don't play online because, surprise, I don't want to play a broken and unfinished game with other people.  This is not my cup of tea.
Third, and try to follow me here, I don't use the Impulse interface because 1) It sucks, 2) It's slow, 3) It's phenomenally memory bloated, 4) It does not completely remove itself from memory when shut down.  Consequently, you see that I have played the game 10 times with the Impulse application.
If you believed the numbers captured by the Impulse application, I have never played two of the games I purchased through Stardock, and I can assure that is not the case.
As to your complete lack of civility, well, I'm not shocked that, even when demonstrated to be wrong, you vow to never apologize and never back down.  You are a fanboi.  You are a child.  You are going to throw a temper tantrum and call me names.  That's fine.  None-the-less, every release of a patch that does not include the material that is part of the original game is a bad release.  Simply telling us before hand that, no, we're not going to give you this material does not make it ok.  That's some of the most idiotic logic I've ever had the displeasure of reading.
Further, you previously insisted that 1.2 might still have the new Demigods - on the clearly stupid theory that the patch list was 'partial', which is wasn't in any but superficial ways.  Now you suddenly pull out the 'it was never coming in 1.2' hogwash.  When I buy a car, if I am promised delivery of new tires within the week, and they tell me they're going to come back 2 months later with a can of oil and still not bring my tires, they are still jerks and incompetents that are breaking my contract - telling me up front that they will continue to ignore their responsibility does not make it ok!

Excuse me, i want to ask a question to every dedicated Demigod player (like CelMare):

Were all these bugs supposed to be fixed??? Was patch 1.2 supposed to be great and make Demigod somehow almost bug-free???

I am pretty used to all the game's bugs and i would be pretty impressed if some of the most annoying bugs were fixed. I have accepted the game for what it is and stopped complaining anymore.

Like CelMare said, it has been 7 months we have been patient. I am done waiting for a miracle patch that will make Demigod perfect. I gave up on them. And this is because it has been so long that i have run out of patience and faith in the developers.

I still Love the game, i still play it, and i will continue to do so, but i dont except much from their support.

I wish i could be positive about patch 1.2, but i cant......

I'm not sure how 10 games played makes you a beta tester.

LOL!

Geofferic has only 1 online game. The other 9 games are against AI.

And this online game he has is a 2v1 with him in the 2 player team, against 1 player.

So how can we take you seriously?

You probably dont even know what a desync is. And if u do, u have never experienced it.

Edit: sorry for double post

So I got the patch, started playing SP mode.  Can not find the rook or erebus as playable choices?  Have we lost them or did I miss something?

You have to scroll down to select the Rook. If the Scrollbar is missing, use the mouse wheel.

OMG! I have said it like 10 times already! and i am sure others have said it too.

Erebus and Rook are still available. You only have to scroll down with your mouse wheel. The devs forgot to add a scrollbar.

use the mouse wheel.

The scrollbar is still there for me (in Single Player Skirmish and Tournament), so I guess this problem only happens for some users.
