There really should be more call out for all the modding stuff in here. Now that we handle both the back end and the front end, we can do a lot more types of modding than in our previous games.
This has been requested on multiple occasions during the beta..
I have added it to the roadmap.
I have been enjoying the Let's Plays.
Quoting Frogboy, reply 7 BTW, if I had my way there'd be no explaination on this at all. You'd analyse three battle results and try to figure out strategies from trial and error. I don't even like showing the tech tree or saying what techs lead to.
I personally would like to see this in. I'll put in a request.

I coded the mechanics in gc4 myselfto ensure they work as design. They work the same as gc2, and this post card looks accurate too me.
Latest review is from COGconnected https://cogconnected.com/review/galactic-civilizations-iv-review/ 88/100 Don't have the links for PC GamesN handy 80 or WCF tech (also 80).
starbases have a different offensive module, one for mining and for example one for military? "starbase defense system" can be only installed on mining starbase?
I’m not sure. I’d have to ask. My understanding is that each type has its own set. By default, military buffs all nearby friendly ships for instance.
As a self confessed idiot who also got confused with this, yay!
Thats only because you’re from England! ;)
I like forums myself and enjoy reading the questions because it makes one think about the game again from the pov of someone totally new to the series. Very valuable stuff.
I play at 5K. I wonder if it’s a wide screen thing? Try turning off full screen and see if more options show up.
Yea, I think a frame rate limiter might address that for users looking to conserve power.
Any news on when the 1.1 patch is planned ?
No definitive dates yet. There’s going to be a 1.02. Bc MP is working really well at this point it might go up on test before 1.1.
You might have to manufacture your population. ‘The filthy, filthy biologicals reproduce on their own. Disgusting. But Synthetics are built (as is proper and civilized). Check the project options on the left of the screen.
Just a head’s up that in 1.0 this was changed to next.
Bumping this so that the team sees your great feedback.
I’ll ask the team. First we will have to see how many people play mp at all.
Solved. The Trillian IM application hooked something GalCiv 4 really hated. Shutting down the application resolved the issue. I will see if I can find what setting / feature specifically breaks things, if I can.
That’s pretty impressive you were able to troubleshoot that. I can’t imagine how the two would conflict.
Not currently. There is http://wiki.Stardock.com thst might help. I think it would be a good idea to have a link to it from game: http://wiki.galciv.com
You don’t lose it. It remains. Think of the improvements as additions to the benefits of the tile.
The robot shows up on the left side of the screen when there’s something new to show.
I fiddled with things a bit, and i finally got the tab button to appear- apparently, you MUST have a ship queued up in the shipyard (how do I get the shipyard to idle?) and you can't skip any tasks that are brought up.
This is correct. This is something fairly common in turn based 4X games now to prevent new players from accidentally forgetting to do an important task.
The upgrades require various techs to unlock.
Military starbases will automatically attack enemies that enter its area of control Quetion - will just the starbase itself attack, or will a fleet posted at the military starbase (if any) also participate in the attack? Or will that fleet only defend the starbse from direct attack?
Only the starbase will. Being able to f
