Personally, I'd like to avoid the doom and gloom for the moment. We have no clue what any of this means. When you consider that this is hype for the masses, of course you're gonna say that the "eco was simplified" cause you want ppl to buy your game. But more than likely, the amount of simplification is going to be minor. People are throwing sh!t at the fan like wild monkeys over on the gpg forums even though "simplified" doesn't mean jack squat. <p

^ The problem with the simple method is that it's all or nothing. You're going to have all your good resources (iron and crystals in this case) routed to your 1 city, while all # (10? 100? 1000?) get nothing. This will of course depend on the number of deposits, but it could quickly turn into a game making 1 knight and 1000 disposable infanty a turn.
why not a hybrid: Only natural resources can be shipped to varying cities (based on a slider). So you still have to have the ability to process aid resource, but you can have it going to multiple sites. Say have 90% going to a front line base for standard units, and 10% going to your alchemical base for your +5 sword of doom. Barring that, I prefer method 1. I'd like suggest a "push" method where the town that makes the swords in this example cho

If you are still owning, either you opponents suck or you are overpowered. Same way (for example) a frost TB is fighting with one arm tied behind his back because he has no fire spells! Right? Or Rook without boulder roll! In fact all DGs are gimped because no DG can pick all skills! Nor can a DG equip himself with all
I think spit is only OP in the fact that it's a MUST use and spending skill points on it trumps anyother other UB skill (except probably your first point in foul grasp). So basically you have a skill (spit) that's effectively at higher levels than other players' skills since the other players' skill points are distributed around further. If you last 'til later levels in a game (~13+), you'll notice that the effects of spit aren't as devastating. Long story short: U
Tell me what you think.
It makes me sad that you tell everyone how to beat me. QQ
Yep, spit isn't op for all the reasons above. In fact, I was getting stuffed repeated by oak's stun skill cause it's the same range as spit, but activates faster QQ. Still, I'd take a (minor) nerf in spit for a major increase in bestial wrath (IE, no start up + speed boost).
Well, it should be changed, but don't decrase it's health/mana regen. It just needs greater restrictions (and perhaps take a little longer), like not being able to move like someone said above. Alternately, maybe greately reduced armor and slow when in use or every hit is a critical/2x + slow when it's being used. Basically, it should be high risk/high reward.
Quoting mehoo462, reply 11Well Jara, interesting Analysis, but actually uberShade in reply #16 brings up an excellent point. Custom Games are essentially team lobbies. Especially now that single players should be able to get into skirmish and Pantheon more reliably, the only reason to go to custom games is to play a team game. Which means all your team has to do is look in the custom games list
I don't think this idea is as bad as people are saying it is. On weekdays, I only have about an hour of free time for games. Having a game scheduled instead of having to wait for a game would be an advantage. Also keep in mind that the "resources" that would be put on this (stardock) would probably be different than the reseourses use to add features to the game (GPG).
^^ But it's not like the devs are any more active there. SD is still doing public relations.
If this happens to you, how are you "ahead"? And why aren't you doing it to your enemy?
Nobody sets out to make their core game lame. Whether it is or not will utimately be determed by how all the pieces of their plan fall together.

I thought spit could target buildings....isn't this what this post is all about. Regardless, I still don't think it's OP.

But let's go to a deeper, philosophic state of the issue; why should people be denied something that doesn't cost anyone anything to supply them? For the same reason someone shouldn't be allowed to walk into my home and take a nap on the floor when I don't allow him in. It doesn't cost me anything for someone to take a nap on my fl
Totally biased review. The core component of the game doesn't work, but maybe it will get fixed in the future, so we will just ignore the issue? The fact is we haven't really been able to scratch the surface for bugs yet because actually playing a game is so difficult. How anyone could right an accurate review when the game has been out less than 3 days is beyond me.
I think you're being t
Funk was in the beta I believe. I think this is just something that slipped passed us beta testers. Besides, the choice is still there since there's only 20 skills points. But it would still be nice to get stat boosts at levels above 20.
@ VoW-Kryo: Why is your MonkeyLord missing 2 legs? Sorry for OT, but I MUST know.
Well, to be honest, as much as I don't agree with the review, it does reflect the reviewers OPINION, which is what a review is. As such, I think comparing DG's score with the score of other released games is completely "apples to oranges". With that said, I also believe that gamespot should give the game a second look when (if?) the issues are resolved.
Well, if armor was all that mattered, then you're point would be valid. But it's not so it's not....Heh, I think that makes sense.
I actually like ooze. Especially now that it does much more damage than it drains. The attack spead decrease is money too. I'll admit it's more crowd control, but against generals, crowd control is a must.
