As far as I know, Stardock hasn't "bought" any developers ever. They publish games by/with developers, but they don't actually own any outside developers.
I think the biggest reason against this game appearing on steam is the fact that you have to have steam running no matter where you bought the game. I'm pretty sure SD is trying to stay away from that model.
How do you differentiate a surrender from a D/C? Can you only surrender after a certain time period, or have be losing by X amount? My point being that a leaver is going to take the easiest way out (surrendering as opposed D/Cing assuming D/Cing is punished) unless there are limitations.

Ok basically, it's similar to an old supcom bug where the game would pause every 10-15 seconds for 2-3 seconds. I updated my video card drivers and it still happened. Every 15 seconds or so from the point I host/join a custom game. Weird since before then, there's no problem at all. I'll post my specs when I get home, but I assumed from the OP that this was something experienced before (but not by me). Sorry. Oh, and I already updated my video card drivers.
So actually, it seems there's some confusion (at least for me) between the 1 millionth "customer" and 1 millionth "user". Where I can be a customer everytime I buy something, I can only become a user once. Which is it?

I'm not sure about the free version. Though it was technically legal at one point, now that GOG has it (which is completely legal) I don't know what the legality of the free version is. So to answer the question, yes the GOG version is the full version and is legal.

Perhaps 2 seconds to is just too long of an effect. If it lasted maybe .5-1 sec and had a startup time of .5-1 sec, it would require more thought. Also, I agree that it's way too cheap. Should be more like 2500 for the scroll or the damage reflected back should be severly reduced (10%-20%). Anyway, if you had to time the impact perfectly, I wouldn't see it as being such a raw deal. Well, there should be a scroll that also affects non-magical skills as well. That way, at least you have to have to pick one or the other (IE, no blanket reflect). In either case, I don't think it should reflect the full damage of the spell/skill anyway. I think 50%-80% works out better. If you think about the base mechanic (invincibility for 2 sec + enemy damage) returning the full damage of a spell/skill seems a bit OP. Also, there's the proble
I gotta disagree with UB's speed decrease. The damage decrease I can live with, but the decrease in mobility is deadly. UB is geared to deal damage, not take it, so he really needs his speed.

Hmmm, my most recent would be Sacred II. I mean, hack and slash rpg; it's mindless fun, how can you go wrong?? But yeah, somehow they screwed it up. It started out fun, but leveling up just got boring and skill improvements were uninspired (OOOOo, 5% more damage, woohoo :(). Titan Quest is soo much better (and I got it for $4).
