I've read a majority of Frogboy's forward looking journals and I don't recall any mention of implementation of a full Replay system. Unfortunate, as a tournament focused game with no functional spectator replay system is absurd for a contemporary AAA title release. ('-')y

Dangit I wish I had a 0-day Demigod experience when entering this thread... Anyways, I'm in favor of the King of Thorns. Think of all the one liners he could say! ('-')y
I dunno, maybe ask Sedna or Queen of Thorns, they always seem to fast track to that upgrade for some reason... *wonders* ('-')y
I am very underwhelmed with Demigods singleplayer offering, I was expecting more and I remember reading this: *** Post by Frogboy: A lot of attention has been given to Demigod's multiplayer capabilities. I like to think that Demigod will be the Counterstrike of strategy games. But what about the single player experience? Well, one of the big changes since Stardock and Gas Powered Games have teamed up is the singl
With the current offering, I'd say the single-player is good for one to two thirty minute matches once the novelty of playing a brand new game wears off. The Tournament mode is utterly simplistic. Basically you get a text ordering of Ranks 1-8, display of Ascension Points and the number of matches left. You click a button called "FIGHT!" and it loads the next map. No story telling, no creativity, no eye candy, nothing. I can't even play Demigod Barbie Dress Up with my Demigods by earn
Owwwwwww. 6.5, that's pretty dang harsh. The review itself is very valid and I agree totally on the singleplayer front. I don't play multiplayer much but I can see online instability being a *major* deduction. No official and stable replay system, utterly unimaginatative singleplayer presentation... but a 6.5/10? Maybe it is deserved but my gut reaction is that at worst Demigod earned a 7.0. *shrug* Oh well, I hope GPG and Stardock just roll with this punch and
ALL IS LOST!!! ABANDON SHIPPPP!!! *grabs Rooks emo-hammer and jumps* ('-')y
I'm primarily a singleplayer kind of guy, so these are my impressions from that perspective. I am enjoying the game as a quick 15-30 minute diversion in between study breaks. The action is fast and straight forward and it's dangerous playing a quick match since it tends to lead to "just one more quick match!" syndrome. I will say though that the singleplayer Tournament mode is completely underwhelming. It is absolutely functional but I was expecting some sore of fancy tourname
Meh, I wonder how Gamestop would react if Stardock agreed to whatever the heck street date Gamestop wanted for them to stock 94023490bajillion copies of Elemental on the shelves then Stardock released the Impulse version 1 weeks early. Heh, sorry, one of our interns made an "oopsie" and posted it early, so, well, our bad, Gamestop! It's all good though, right? I mean, these things happen... But that would never happen, since Stardock is a class act and that's why Stardock publ
I am going to assume a lot of people want to see the best of the best compete and the strategies they used, how they reacted to potential game turners and overall an exciting match that could have gone either way. Kind of like [insert your favorite sporting event] Championship match but instead of someone telling you, "Team BlahBlah won, it wuz epic", you can watch the match yourself. And you control the camera! And you can control the flow of time itself so you can get more pretzels and a ro
Demigod is using the Supreme Commander engine, I recall, and Supreme Commander had a standard replay system that let you set the speed, lift/set fog of war and perspective of a certain player. It would be a major flaw if Demigod didn't have an equal or better replay system. I mean, who wouldn't want to watch The Rook squash Sedna with his hammer in ultra slow motion? Dawn of War 2 is a great spectator game also, I watch DoW 2 replays way more than I actually play the game. Tho
Demigod is way more stable than Empire Total War and Demigod is the fricken game that's in beta while E:TW is at retail release with 3+ patches.[e digicons][/e] I just don't want to come onto these forums a couple weeks after Demigods release with some issues and have Gas Powered Games offer the following solution: "Oh, it won't crash if you disable sound!" How about having a zero XP gain from killing both Idol and regular minions? As it is, the Idol minions give 0 XP. If the gameplay only allowed XP gain from capturing flags, destroying fortifications and killing Demigods, perhaps that might give Generals a specific boost to their intended mechanic of fielding more numerous and powerful minions. A straight transition of this would slow level progression immensely though, but I guess my intention would be to eliminate the farming of regu
I've played every released iteration of Demigod and I'm happy with where the game has gone, even though I wish it had taken a much more distinctive flavor. The game is very easy to learn and that's what the goal was, so Stardock and GPG succeeded in achieving their vision. The AI has really improved and puts up a pretty mean fight now. I've trounced the AI nearly 100%, save for a loss on my first test run or I when I wasn't playing to win. With 3C, I lost 3 matches in a row last night. I play
