No, the problem here is that people assume that the publisher is the same as the developer. If Stardock had developed Demigod it would have been a very different game (for good or for bad). We are debating from completely different axioms.
No. I already acknowledged that many of the problems are GPGs. But, the thing that I quoted was YOU (as in the CEO of SD, not GPG) saying that a multiplayer dominated game is not incomplete if
To illustrate what I mean: Having replays in an update is a perfectly reasonable thing. That replays weren't in v1.0 doesn't mean the game was "incomplete". If I were a reviewer, I might take points off for not having it but it doesn't mean the game "has to have it".
It is probably a good point that its not reasonable to expect developers to miraculously introduce a whole lot of new stuff within months of a game's release. And yes, its probably true that a lot
We do read the forums and put together lists. But as others have pointed out, the attitude on the forum doesn't make one want to participate. As Brad mentioned, the last update was 12 days ago. There is another update in the works to fix stats and other issues. But if you actually want help either contact or you can put together specific constructive feedback with information
He probably didnt deserve it, but he was being stupid enough that I'm not surprised. I'm a pretty disagreeable sort, but I know that you have to turn down the rudeness when confronting somebody who can ban you. Especially somebody who has shown that they dont take kindly to that sort of stuff. You can be disagreeable without being rude. Shadow was being both. Rudeness really shouldnt be a reason for a ban, but if you are rude to the CEO of a company whose forum
Yeah, I dont really agree with the general attitude that competitive people shouldnt get much focus. The big problem with the argument is the numbers bit. DG as it is right now has almost no features to encourage competitive gameplay. It doesnt have clans, it doesnt have team automatch, it doesnt have proper stats etc. It does however have pretty much what you need for casual gameplay. So OF COURSE there arent so many competitive players - the machinery isnt in
I'm fine with buffing them...as long as you nerf something else that Sedna does. Sedna is already one of the best DGs (if not the best), so you cant have overall buffs to her in patches.
I'm really quite happy that Morale seems to be a bit of a secret. A lot of people play things like Erebus minion builds without it. And all I can say is thank God - those builds arent OP'd, but once you get somebody using Morale too...ugh.

Any part of an online game is going to be making and playing with friends. Either people from RL or that you met online. This usually means that you need features to cater to this, and those features are usually what competitive players want (clan stuff including chats and the ability to play as a regular team easily for example). If you have an online game that doesnt allow this easily, I think that you are going to have some struggles in the medium and long term. I
Good grief you guys. Do you have any idea how many updates there have been to Demigod? The last one is barely 2 weeks ago. There actually isn't a if(iPhire)pGame->Crash() function in there.
IMO its not unreasonable to complain if you purchased a game and it doesnt work properly on your computer (through no fault of your own) for a few months. Its not like the guy is spamming the boards with this complaints. He just has an expectatio
Ha. There's no post from the CEO of the company in a little over a week and suddenly the whole enterprise is crashing down?
The problem is that there are several obvious and easily fixable bugs that have not been fixed (despite being known about for months) and not even acknowledged. Some of these can be fixed by somebody in less than 2 minutes (see the Sedna High Priest bug). Its difficult to explain why such things havent been fixed except to s
Things take time. It seems like their aim is to get all those features that should of been in the game, in the game. Along with 1 or 2 bug fixes per update. This makes it take forever for all the bugs to go away, but it does allow them to get new content into the game sooner.
The thing is that some of these bugs dont take time to fix. The Sedna High Priest nonsense should take a minimal amount of time to fix for example. I dont really get why stuff like that
I Use Wards early in the game to get extra damage output. They distract DGs and creeps as well as mislead them to think I am a minion Oak. I am happy with their effectivness at level 2 as they are just their to distract towers and add that small difference in DPS between me and an Assasin Oak.
The point is that going 1 point in Ward and 1 point in SoulPower is going to be a much larger boost to your DPS. I think it would be hard to justify the loss of that DPS b
Yeah, I actually agree. The theory is that early on a lot of DGs rely on one particular skill to do anything against an enemy (spit for UB, fireball for some TBs etc). If you can pull a shield out of your pocket and nullify that you can surprise them and cause all sorts of trouble. The problem is that pretty much all Oaks try this and you just arent going to surprise anybody. I like to take Ward at level 1 and SoulPower at level 2. Give me 3 spirits, SoulPower
In a build where you arent supporting your minions with either skills (Morale) or items, it doesnt make any sense at all to be taking 2 levels of Ward but not getting Soul Power until the game is basically over. You basically have 3 choices: 1) Use SoulPower (maybe only 1 level though) to get a benefit from your spirits 2) Do a minion build with Ward 3) Dont get Ward (or at least not until very late in the game) You are waiting a long time to get Vlemish
If you try and use TB, and alert player will just go assassin Erebus and crush you that way. I'd also love to know how builds with no AoE are going to counter a minion build "just fine". It takes a while to take out 20+ minions (which a minion Erebus can get by a pretty early level actually) when they have 2k hps each and you have no AoE.
Krazikarl Erebus gets up to an 80% chance to convert to nightwalkers by a fairly early level. The Erebus can easily kill 1 creep in the time that a UB kills 1 minion. So Erebus can easily keep up with UB's kill rate with new minion spawns. Really? I had no idea. Perhaps you could refresh my memory, what does Ooze do?
Reduce attack speed by 40% and does some DoT (which is more than overcome by Horn of Battle).&n
XaviorsFist But vs erebus it's brutal. 2k health nightwalkers against 8 towers may still mean all the nightwalkers die but it ties up your towers damage for at least 20-30 seconds meanwhile erebus and his nightwalkers are pounding away at rook himself. This is an exaggeration. Are you going to stop? XaviorsFist UB's ooze just doesn't have the damage to kill nightwalkers fast enough. And since the erebus spawns them a
Yeah, multi Regs is a bit overstated. I played yesterday in a 4v4 where 1 team has 3 Regs. They did spec tracking device and Snipe, which was really annoying early on, but eventually we got enough armor and health to shrug that off and the Regs went down fast. Plus, even in the beginning they couldnt hold flags worth anything and were pretty easily pushed away from towers. Sure they were taking some towers down, but not too quickly and we were up by a large margin in w
The fundamental problem is that there is a big asymmetry going on here: Some "Generals" can either be very good assassins or they can be very good generals. Assassin DGs can only be assassins. Some DGs, like say TB, should be very strong against minion DGs. After all, TB has all kinds of AoE tools to take them out. But if generals like Erebus and Oak see a team that is made up of anti minion DGs, they can simply play an assassin build. And assassin Ereb
I must admit that I didn't actually understand the technical jargon of Soul Power and Spirits until recently, and now I see just how good they are in combination. For my own personal preference, however, rather than getting one point in Soul Power and maxing Wards, I'd prefer getting one Ward and maxing Soul Power. If my understanding in correct, then by level 14, this would give me a max bonus of 120 Weapon Damage rather than 80. I had no idea the Armor aura of Ward's existed, thou
No, No, No, No, No. And furthermore NO. It is puggers who have warped perspective, wheras premades (particularly ones that have played several games against other premades) have a much more accurate view of how things work at a higher level. I'll quote myself yet again:
I actually think that premades who exclusively play pugs are WORSE experiences than just pugging. There is no need to develop as much individual skill since the superiority of the team overall wi
Look at his record. It's very obvious that he always runs with a premade team. So he probably always has a buddy and probably almost never gets 2v1 or 3v1'd. As if not getting 3v1ed has anything to do with being a premade. You don't need an Anklet, or BotF, or a premade team to avoid getting 3v1ed. All it takes is not being stupid or careless. I do not hide the fact that I play in a premade. I mean, look at my avatar fo
You derive some benefit from killing creeps and towers. You are either opening up real estate and thus getting closer to ending the game, or getting gold/xp and thus getting closer to ending the game. Killing minions feels like and is a complete waste of time. You get nothing. Thats the problem with minion builds - the can force the other team to just waste time killing stupid minions.
I think that people also underestimate how much time you save when running around capping flags. I tend to be more ADD and like running between flags instead of sitting in a single lane, and Anklets just save me a lot of time when you add it up over a 30 minute game. On some maps Amulet of Tele might save me more though. Really it comes down to personal preference for most builds. I think that you would be hard pressed to show that any other favor item is substantial
