Should I get in the habit of looking up the stats on everyone involved in the game before even thinking of joining?
yes. you need to look up the hosts record before you bother joining, and the records of the people on each team in the lobby before you ready up. the 2 mins of effort to find a balanced game is better than sitting through 15-30 mins of getting stomped.

i'd like to have a 5v5 without someone dropping, or the game lagging from someone's slow sim speed or horrible connection [e digicons]X|[/e]
this one was awesome: Panophobiac quits game in the middle saying he has to "go eat dinner" hint: if you're going to have to leave, play single player.
4. Perhaps most importantly: it would be nice if a competent AI could replace a player who dropped/disconnected from a game, so that the rest of that player's team didn't feel immediately doomed. Furthermore, if you had 3 friends but wanted to set up a 3 v 3 against each other, you could sub in one AI per team and not feel worried about it.
this. now if someone drops on a team it's pretty much going to be a loss.
lots of people who bitch and then rage quit etc, get used to it lol. it only makes you want to find regular teammates you enjoy playing with even more.
It would say 100% to one friend and 70-80% to my second teammate. No one would play us. Funny part is we are old married guys who only play once a week on average. We lose even as a premade.
and it would give your win/game rate, which would be low so people wouldn't feel threatened. i don't see why no one would play you. most people look first at your win rate, and then at who you've played with.
A pre-made team of 3 or 4 players are playing some matches everyday together in the same team and are defeating random teams by, maybe, 70%. So their skill rating will increase very fast. After a few weeks (or even days, if they´re playing like freaks ) they will encounter the following problem: most people will leave their matched up game instantly because they´ll just see the ratings of the pre-made team and will think: "What? No way, I´ll not sacrifice my rating po
What I`m asking is, Has there been any changes or improvements made to the match making system?
really, the best thing to do is join custom games, and check everyones stats on the site before you ready up to make sure its a fair game. you have to make your own match ;)
With the P2P system being used and no authoritative source to fallback on when a desync occurs, I am not really sure it is possible to stop this sort of exploit without a major overhaul of the game's communication system.
if someone desyncs more then once in ten games it's counted as a loss (or something like that).
So we can get 2 UB and 1 LE on one team and 2 Qot and Rook on the other?
you can already do this. he means you have 8 people in the lobby, and they are randomly assigned to either side once you start.
I'd put things in a format something like this: Player win/loss (win %) (overall premade %) Connected to: player 2 (premade %) The premade ranking would simply a percentage of how much each individual has played with their team. The overall is just an average percentage based on each individual team member's premade ranking.Your basic connection window would look sometihng like this: Frogboy 13/17 (43.3
if UB's power level is over 9000, then QoT must be about 5000
Check your PC's/net/ISP guys before announcing how instable DG is....there are thousands playing with perfectly fine and stable connections and games.....
right. half of the games i play have someone (you are playing against other people, yes?) out of the 3v3 or 4v4 have issues, with either their connection or sim speed. its a RTS with a minimal number of units in the field, there's absolutely no reason for there to be this many
mist 1 is useful to take when you can to avoid a 3v1 gank for example... if you have the mana, wait until they get bored and leave.
and i want new demigods, more maps and rebalancing ;) obviously there's imbalance, look at the demigods used/win stats. i'm still waiting for a game that rebalances abilities slightly every day (hell, do it on different lunar cycles for each one) to mix it up a bit. until then some demigods (QoT etc) need some love.
good posts. glad to hear people are interested in having fun games, rather than simply owning people (as is often the case). ive just started playing regularly, and it takes as much time finding an even match as it does to play a game.
as a stun? (ie enemy can't act during knockback) edit: ah, like Rook's God Strength, thought you ment a demigod vs demigod power. though the Oculus post doesn't really say if it includes demigods as well as minion/creeps.
