So I continue to propose a way to further devlope the competitive nature of a game and express a desire to build a new system that may be better than the classic match making and ladder - and instead of wanting to put heads together to craft interesting ideas, you want to flame me? Please recall we're in the Stardock forums, not the Blizzard forums. Please get your attitude it check so we can progress this conversation in a constructive manner. Again, I do have many idea

Good to hear some progress, I concerned about the communications problems. :)
Matchmaking based on wins and losses has the ultimate goal of matching up 2 players/teams which have equal skill so both can enjoy the game, no matter how good they are (and If you take a look at Warcraft III where 90% of the players have a win ration between 45-55% it works damn good). I don't see how you can have any as reliable system by having such a crude system with Easy/Medium/Hard and people are categorized in it based on some obscure con

This is on the main page, you know that right? Link there an everything.
I think so Trigeminal, as they will likely choose select community members to test downloadable content before it is offered to the public I imagine.
BigOne is correct, throughout Beta Phase 1 we've seen several major builds distributed which changed the gameplay entirely. Making what felt as though it was 3 Beta Phases crammed under the umbrella of 1. Yes Demigod works on Windows Vista, most of our players so far have been Windows Vista users. I suppose Stardock just naturally draws in the Vista crowd.
Teh_Senkon , yes I strongly feel casual players should be praised, prized, and rewarded 100% equal to that of Hardcore gamers. Making it where there is no different for someone who players all day long, and someone who plays for an hour during their lunch break. Games which support a hardcore crowd and reward them for having little, or no life needs to come to an end as it is eating away at our standards of life and mentality. F
In order to take part in the next Beta Phase, I'd suggest you Pre-Order today or sometime over the weekend. That would be the best way to ensure your place in the Beta. They will card you and give you access the day they activate the Build, and they release Betas in the order in which they were recieved. So there would still be time to retract your order for a complete refund if you change your mind. If you have problems accessing funds, I do not know whether or not they will allow pe
I wouldn't suggesst Warhammer as the developers always mess up and make the game more favored for Order, leaving the Destruction community very much put off with the constant imbalances and mechanical flaws for Order Exploits.
Now, I'd like to share some insights once again after reading through the thread. As someone who tried to take part of the DotA game, I will admit I found it very daunting to enjoy the game for what it was - a game . My biggest issue was the level of seriousness that the players too part it really turned it off to a larger crowd community, and merely restricted it to the shut-ins who wanted to find something new after the Counter
FFXI has PVP, but you don't see me listing the details do you? I said EVE is more PVP, not all PVP. If i were to balance these games on a scale of PVP and PVE... EVE simply has more PVP content while FFXI has more PVE content. That's a fact, no need to give exact details.
EVE is the only game to play if you got above avarage IQ. Also, EVE's learning curve is Brutal. So brutal, it might cause you to lose a good night sleep.
Same can be said about Final Fantasy XI, they are in the exact same ball park. Just EVE is more PVP, and FFXI is more PVE - that's their big difference.
Eight Demigods is the more solid of the two, but do not let this dampen your spirits when it comes to wondering whether or not you'd want to try the game. Likely you may be a DotA fan and are used to the 100s of character selection options you have, well instead of just providing 100s of premade, here you have 8 Templates you can customize to your liking. Customization is more than just the tweak of the skill tree, there are several different ways in which you control your Demigod's g
Mario Kart's Online isn't exactly as solid as it should be. And frankly, I'm tried of it because they always slam me against uber experts who utterly destroy me so I've just stopped playing as it's lost it's appeal for 'easy going enjoyment'.
Have you played FFXI recently ? Since the last expansion, the game has gone through a lot of changes, and it's not quite like it was once before. It's easier to Party and Level now, more rewarding for now players, and lots to do in the solo spectrum. It's very much a radically different game than it was at the start, and even a year ago for that matter.
World of GoO is like $15 on Wii me thinks, I love that game!
Certainly Cow, it's worth the wait. ^^ Not many of us are playing the game right now as it stands, because we're patiently waiting new material.
JinxOfSin, you're primary argument about the Demigods not having customizability is flawed in that even you failed to mention certain factors of the game which allow players to make their own builds the way they want. Right now it's obvious that if you are to think that the meager ability tree is the key to customization, I'm afraid you've been mislead. The ability tree ultimately doesn't do much to personalize your Demigod, and in the course of battle doesn't make any dramat

Well I honestly don't know much about his story, but I liked his wings! He needs more wing-time.
I think his wings should play a lot more in his look. Build him one way, he gets Angel Wings.. build him another - he gets Demon Wings. Wings which you ALWAYS see, not just when he uses his specials.
