Thanks for the update, Frogboy but I wish you'd addressed the Pantheon Light/Dark issue. It's by far the topic I'm most interested in at the moment...
-You can grab the pot or mana on the ground.
How exactly does it help with that in anyway?
I hate it when I'm winning and the other team concedes and keeps me from destroying their citadel
And I hate it when I have to spend another 10-15 minutes waiting for the final nail in the coffin once it's clear that we literally stand no chance.
I don't really "get it". I understand that extra HP & Armor is always appreciated but what's with the 5 second invulnerability? Seems like that would just give your opponents a chance to position themselves optimally for when you return to normal not to mention a chance for them to use their consumables safely. I see a decent amount of praise for the item but never an explaination of why or how you'd use it and the once or twice I've seen it used in-game was less than im
for balancing, wait longer. Then, someone with 0 games played will join. And that makes things more imbalanced, so we kick and wait. This goes on and on. If we had a simple option to get balanced games going, I think I'd use that MUCH MUCH MUCH more often. Pantheon DOES NOT provide this feature for us.
If we had the skirmish mode layed out by pacov I'd probably play it 90+% of the time.
My personal notes indicate otherwise but perhaps he was in a foul mood that day...
In my day we used to simply accuse better players of hacking the game.
Everyone knows hax are the cure! http://www.gamesiteguide.com/blog/hax-a-solution-to-your-gaming-problems/
Did I say Demigod stacking? No, I said stacking on sides. Most people are going to join whatever side is winning, which is going to give a huge disadvantage to one specific side. With the current system, just joining the side that is winning is not as appealing, as your favorite Demigod might be on the other side?
Is that what "most people" will do? Thanks for the bulletin--I guess I didn't get the memo. It seems I keep joining
It's so easy to spot the rage quitters and premades now. I wonder how the premades are handling this with no one joining their games?
I'm not avoiding those games I'm just making sure that teams look balanced in the lobby before launch (and leaving those lobbies that refuse to do so). So let's not villify The Premades and focus instead on those interested in an easy steamroll. You see that same type of person on pugs as well as premad
Have sent in a request to ban.
While I'd love to see any hacker/exploiter totally banned, perhaps an offer of a pardon if he'll give up the specifics on how he's doing it (via private communication, of course) would be in order. Better to figure out how/why it happens and stop it for good than to eject people from an already small community after the fact.
if you used hamachi through LAN option would it run better or no?
Likely not, LAN is still going to be peer-to-peer and with the traffic still having to go over the Internet your connection is still going to be the same bottleneck as multiplayer.
I just treat the A.I. just like I treat a newb (admittedly a really stupid newb), if it gets in the way of what I'm trying to do I kill it. If it stays out of the way I don't actively hunt it down.
This.
Pantheon was always more popular though, but I don't really see why. Maybe it really is just because of its higher "prestige".
I suspect it was due to the "tournament" aspect. I just played there because that's where eveyone else was.
I want to see replays of "zomg pro horn usage". Not antiEB rants--I agree, nightcrawlers need a closer look.
I still see folks complaining that this favor item is OP. I've not had much luck w/ it myself so could someone link me to a replay showing some abusive Horn of Battle usage? Preferably not as EB as I feel that it's EB (and his minions) that is OP, not Horn itself. Anyone? Edit: Multiplayer only. Stomping the AI proves nothing.
Bolange - I'll include the question, but can you make it a little more specific? If I just provide the link odds are the question won't get an answer.
Sure. As often the queue for pantheon has significantly more of one team than other it seems people have to wait longer than they should to get placed into a game. If there are 8 people in the queue (7light/1dark for example) why not give them a bal
They removed skirmish becasue it and pantheon were roughly the same. The reason I suspect they kept Pantheon was folks like the website/tourney thing. Now they just need to remove light/dark division to form a hybrid of the two to make everyone happy!
On an AF build it's a no brainer. I'd hesitate to ditch Maim depending on if you're pushing your side/lane solo (ditch it) or w/ a teammate (keep it).
I'd suggest maybe running with Blade of the Serpent rather than Heaven's Wrath. I understand HW can be useful for a double snipe early game, poking a hole in fog and aoe on creep but by level five tracking device/mines should see you through (250 damage is nothing from midgame on). BotS would give you extra autoattack damage (bringing towers down quicker and helping takeout demis) and can be used to recharge your mana pretty quickly by activating and autoattacking a tower/fort.&nb
So, please Stardock and GPG make a good new connection system
Let's be honest here. That is NOT going to happen. The game is what it is and rewriting the netcode is a significant undertaking that makes zero business sense. You'd be better off hoping that Demigod 2 has a better connection system but don't hold your breath on that as SD has indicated they plan to support Demigod for the long haul.</
The general community has created the attitude that a team (in a team based game) fighting against another team of individuals that don't know each other is unfair and wrong. If teams provide such a huge, uneven advantage, I find it baffling to think that pugs would not want the same benefits.
The heart of the issue isn't that folks hate teamwork--that's a disingenous argument to make. The problem is that, currently, pres have a significant advantage in coordiant
the other reasons why premades are able to play against pugs in dota/hon is because the skill level is alot higher, and people are alot more competitive and understand the game, you learn the game ALOT faster if someone yells at you "YOU SUCK WTF ARE U DOING" or "DO THIS U IDIOT OFC HE WAS GUNNA USE THAT SPELL ON U".
I *VEHEMENTLY* disagree. That shitty attitude that nearly drove me from this game. Pull that crap w/ me in-game and we won't be
I guess I belong in the premades-are-fine-if camp [e digicons]:\[/e] I totally understand you're upset that you have a hard time playing with your friends. But, from the eyes of an exceptionally average PUGer, playing against a premade is pretty much a losing proposition. This game is (sadly) not well equiped to facilitate teamwork amongst random lobby folk (no voicechat? really? Is this 2001 or something?) and, without knowing the guys on your team, you have

This:
If you buy Stardock products, the terrorists win. Can we have the GPG/SD view of their ideas regarding the light/dark division and if they see it as hampering matchmaking as discussed here: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/364707 If they don't see it as a problem, some insight into why would be great. Thanks!
