Not Necessarily Gnats3 if the Gods "Put" you into an arena you wouldn;t know your opponent until you met them on the field. Depending on the loading screen. I could see players not knowing their opponents in a ranked match until they see them. In custom games though you'd have to pick a character and everyone in the lobby would see that, unless like you said there was an option. Besides the score screen in Supcom was always a little weird. Who says Skills need a limit on how many points they can have? If someone wants to max out 1 skill isn;t that their perogitive. Really destructive with 1 skill but completely lacking in versatility?
Anything that builds teamwork is a valid step in my book.
Don't lie timmy, you'll play whatever Demigod you can Suicide with
5.The Teabag. Don't just beat your enemies, show them your better by putting your junk in their yard. Guaranteed to lengthen the spawn time of any fallen hero.
Well if your plan does come to fruition. And things start working out good for you. You could probably get someone to Shoutcast it(like Deman/A_spec for SC/FA) especially if it's an intense as the devs say it is. Or failing that you could find someone who really likes to roleplay to watch the match and write battle reports afterwards. As a child of technology I much prefer the shoutcasts though
I think you've all got it wrong. THe way it should work is as follows: Each time i level up i get my stuff. Each time you level up i get your skills instead of you! Now I know there might be balance issues so Also Each time you level up i get your addidtional HP's and energy bonuses. ... bad idea? lol On a serious note they are all good suggestions, Especially the ones that facilitate teamwork. But I'd say limit most synergies to 2 skills to use(different
More can always hurt a game, Look at Guild wars and it's subsequent doses of Cyanide they called expansions. that was more Flavour but it completely killed the feeling of the game
I'm going to miss the "Can neither confirm nor deny..." line. Classic stuff right there
Not only is that number of Playable characters awefully high for the Small art team Demigod has. But it is always a very big challenge to create skills that differ enough for each Character. if you have 5-8 skills per demigod and 40 demigods you've got 200-320 skills you need to create, and many of those will most likely overlap. Fewer is currently better(obviously there is such a thing as too few, but i don't think we need fear that)
First off, Notice i said some skills. Think of it like this. You have a fireball spell, sure that can auto target because trying to hit a Moving demigod would be a serious bitch and reduce the usefullness of casters. Now imagine your trying to cast an Area of Effect Earthquake/Blizzard/Death and Decay(thanks WarCraft!) If it auto targetted an enemy your area of effect is limited to that unit. But sometimes you don't want that. Sometimes you want to cast behind it-to limit the arrival of any rein
Yes, everytime i see new screens of the Torch Bearer it makes me want to burn things in my backyard... but then again i do that alot to begin with. Of all the current demigods he still has the most badass look.
No, the system in DoW makes them invulnerable while they are doing the Sync kill. I'm 110% on that so someone owes me 10%
Well the only way Kill animations don;t interfere with gameplay si if the character doing the kill animation becomes invincible for it's duration... Which by it's own nature does affect gameplay. It allows you to simply absorb high amounts of damage if you see it coming. And you can easily be surrounded and cut off by hordes of enemies. Even in Dawn of War, an ideal platform for Sync kills you could sacrifice a unit to a Commander for a sync kill and run the rest of the squad to safety. Thus aff
The general Tiger rider bitch, forgot her name is probably going to be a tough general to beat with her healing aura but the vampire lord does sound neat. Of course i'm going to devote my time to learning every little detail about the killing power of the torch bearer and who he synchronizes best with. the back story about being a lord murdered by his people only makes me love him more.
well hints at 2 new playable characters is always a good thing. I want a full breakdown of the torchbearers fire abilities though. it's really all i care about
I guess getting your named changed to Capt.Talkless would be too much... You can't start a post about bringing ideas together and not expect people to add their comments on them. Honestly your better off waiting till people make posts about ideas and then summarizing them all individually into 1 post. In the spirit of optomisim though. Idea(purely speculation) I don't know how spells will work in the game and i'm praying it'll require skill to use, but basically what
Or you could change your life around make some friends and use a vent server... But hell i don't play with pubs much maybe it's just me
In response to AZ. Finish single player Unlock ACU Demigod... ha ha ha
They havn't even started the Beta and your already going on about balance? Give ti time man! there will be a time and place to voice your concerns. These guys were implementing changes and tweaking things since before you joined this forum, and they do it for a living. Give them time and then when the beta releases the community will discover the intricacies of how things can best be used and the dev team will react accordingly
GPGnet had a decent clan system, you could create.leave/join Promote members demote members, things like that. Most people would see that as a step above a basic here is my clan, join it or leave it. Other then recording stats you don't say much to what you have in mind. You want stats of how many wins/losses the Clan(and every member in it) has as a whole or do you want stats like TimmyFred hasn't logged off in 32 hours. You gotta be specific, I'm sure a general suggestion migh
There won't be an NDA for the public beta portion, it'd be too many people to keep track of. an NDA requires thats the person receive the forms, Read sign and fax/scan/mail back said forms, it will be too much BS at that point. Besides they want people in the beta to spread a hype about the game. So that you come onto forums like this or Game replays or wherever and talk it up so that people in those gaming communities think about spending their money on Demigod and not "Joe Blow action adventur
