Granted i havn't played in a month and i don;t have the latest version but Torchbearer was the strongest in beta 1, and with some ingenuity i'm sure he still can be. I'll have to look more in depth at it but Warhammer online is way more fun

The level 15 unlock of frost nova is a 5 second freeze, so it's far from impossible. And your not going to kill a 3K hp unit in 2 hits from abilities, your going to need some basic damage skills in there, but considering your pretty much going to be stunlcoked for 8 seconds atleast your going to die. Chances are if you've got the gold to spend you've already got the levels. Seeing as how killing creeps gives gold and experience. Which puts your enemies in a more awkward position. The only thing that gives large amounts of gold and no experience is killing towers.
Well if your too close to an enemy and in Fire mode what often happens is that the basic attack curls downwards towards the enemy but hits the ground. I've seen that several times but no damage to the enemy unit. It's probably the splash hitting the enemies units still. Just something you've gotta be aware of when playing as him
I had my Torch Bearer at 6600 hp's and base DPS at ~900 couple that with 5 seconds on Frost nova and 3 seconds on deep freeze adn that equals a dead demigod each time. Having high hp's is nothing impressive. if i have 3K hp's and can kill you at 6454 then whats the use?
Who says he has to wear the items? Maybe he just looks them away in his keep. Or maybe because the items are of such particular power and renown they conform to the image of the owner?
As far as I know i'm the only one who had this issue thus far, but my game would not load, it'd get past the splash screen and then come up with some message about unable to create direct 3d. The drivers were up to date and every worked fine. Turns out the latest drivers for the card were the issue. I guess they were not backwards compatible or somehting along those lines. However once I rolled back my drivers everything ran correctly. So again the solution was to roll
As far as i know the supcom engine doesn't run on anything under the 6 series Nvidia cards, so your 5500 won't work(won't initialize like you said)
WASD camera controls and rebinding for Hotkeys to QE23 for skills Also a key for resetting the camera to it's default start position would be great
Yeah the skills become alot more involved with tactics morale and the backlash systen on casters, I only listed abilities but the whole amalgation of avaible additions is quite involved. The camera controls being Arrows keys and then the Hotleys being on the left side drives me bonkers, i end up forgoing hotkeys all together. Another thing is you can;t see shop items at the top of the page when you have an enemy targetted as his icon blocks your menu-just another nitpick

I'm gonna touch on the towers thing briefly as it was mentioned. I think if the Tower functioned on a Tier system, Either through time in game or a purchasable upgrade using currency then it would solve part of the problem of i'm too weak early to make sizeable gains(something else the makes the gap between decent-good-great smaller) I'm not proposing a system here, just sparking thought. Ideas may not be Engine related but getting ideas out there now is what changes the future
The solution is simple, Don't die, for the exact reasons RapierX listed. If your enemy controls the map and is pushing you heavy, he will have the resources to res himself instantly everytime, How do you expect to fight against that?
Frogboy he was commenting on the hard line game mechanics. The beta can be a technical test but if something so basic and fundamental to the game changes getting thsoe changes in earlier or sparking the thought process earlier is always a benefit. The standard response from more Game companies is either "Thats not at this stage, we will address it later" OR "It's being/been changed in a later build" And what happens more often then not is that an idea is swept under the rug of fix it later</p
The Supcom engine couldn't take too many commands at once, and with it's latency cap alot of etra commands got lost along the way. I'm pretty sure the devs could change the figures from 1 game to the next, and there is more then likely a console command to assist you with he latency issues, but anything Engine related is only changeable on the devs part.
Hmm don't recognize your name, SupCom or FA top 20, ultimately i guess it deosn't matter as the prime time players have moved on. But i know exactly where your argument is coming from and i agree with you. Keep in mind they have a General type class of demigod also. We just don't know yet how controllable their minions will be. But i know what your saying there doesn't seem to be enough to seperate players competitively right now. the AoE skills not being ground targetted is a huge pet peeve
This seems to be a common theme amongst most of the people I've talked to. Some close friends included. The progression appears far too linear. Especially on the regulus which is a straight up stat boost, and just about the only skill you use is Snipe. it's auto attacking for an entire match. it's pretty redundant in that respect
I have the same issue, My solution was easier-I uninstalled Forged Alliance(i just don't want to reccomend you do the same thing TheCoreCommander might read this and try and ban me from Halcyon)
Go into the Control system for your video card and enable Geonetry Instancing. You have an ATI card so it shouldn't be too difficult to find. the Supcom engine needs it enabled. I get almost identicel results when trying to run Supcom on my machine with out Geometry instancing
