Part of the challenge facing the Devs will be to make sure that there is not 1 super lineup. But that all demigods will appeal to a play style or personality.

I thought "Newb" was the insulting one? Mostly because i never see it used. and "Noob" was the beginner player one. And if all Tinkers are Zonkers are all Zonkers, whatsits? ultimately it doesn't matter, Noob/newb/douchemonkey are used as descriptors by some and as insults by others and ultimately it depends on the context of the rest of the sentence.
I call BS. I have put in over 300 hours on COD4 and have never ever seen anyone get 100 kills with only 5 deaths. I've only ever seen 1 person get 100 kills on a HQ game of Shipment and he had around 60 deaths. Maybe your just exaggerating to make a point. Sure, there are some (particularly snipers who aren't directly in the mix) that may go 30 kills and only 2 or 3 deaths. In those cases its actually an advantage to die because after 7 deaths, there are no more bonuses. No more heli's ai
It seems self explanatory to me. They have a year of free updates planned. Which means Post release support, but he only said 'Planned' Beyond a year they have nothing tabled bu they are probably kicking ideas around. But GPG said the same thing about SupCom and what the vanilla version got was patches and the introduction of 2 horribly imbalanced units while Aeon got screwed with a cappy T3 unit
I just can't get no love. Tyo credits TBO, Poita credits Ze0. No love for Herr Burninator. I posted nearly the same thing but mine was more detailed. Of course now my post is deleted and all that remains is a post referencing my earlier post... for some reason
wrong button
I'll reiterate this again, Anything that rewards external modifiers for a kill streak or any tangible bonus will ruin competitive play. The main reason: The Slippery Slope. If your enemy gets kill streak on you/your team and is rewarded a damage bonus or a Gold income multiplier/increase or anything that directly or indirectly relates to an advantage will cause you to fall farther and farther behind until ultimately you lose. Map control in most RTS games is a prime ex
you can NOT deny just how great dota became from 3 generations of amateur modding. It was gonna happen eventually that someone made a standalone game that was very similiar to dota, why not compare the heritage?
No where in my post did I compare Dota to Demigod. I asked that if he were going to reference day/night cycles and their tied in bonuses that he reference the original medium and not the mod. Read my shit before posting your own.
Maybe we should specify All things, not just shit we assume people are assuming. Being on this forum has taught me alot of the idiocy of peoples beliefs and in every post i make from this point on I'm going to try and list exactly what I mean to the letter.
No Dota didn't have the function WC3 had the function! Dota is a mod, If your going to reference something reference the original game the mod was made from. Fuck I feel like I'm being drowned in fanboyism!
There is such a thig as recognizing a bad situation as it develops. You don;t need to be 10 hp's from dead before you decide it's time to leave. If i saw 4 enemies bearing down on me after harassing their base I'd pull out and hit somewhere else. Time is still a resource in most games. and the more time your enemies spend running around can be translated into a gain for you. if you try and push that too far and die, then you just lost something more valuable then a few seconds
So i did, but i'll still hold you accountable because it's ohh so much fun. The only reason Guild wars sold so many expansions is because it was necessary for the competitive community. If you look at the team builds from the release of each expansion you'll see a massive swing in favour of the new classes, and it wasn't just "they are new" because the trend continued for months on end. With nightfall released a team of 8 paragons could take on any other team in the game and win every single tim
Yeah it seems more like an "Ohh Shit!" ability, but they probably have things to buy with teleport. But i'm hoping it also has a suitably decent cool down. If they had that then you could teleport in somewhere, wreck some face and then press your Ohh shit run button.(ala lvl 6 Archmage with TP in WC3)
Competitive doesn't mean Nigh impossible. No game starts out competitive, but it can be designed to be competitive. The only reason that games like Starcraft and Counter Strike still exist as popular games is the competitive atmosphere. Invariably people will flock to those games as lesser skilled players to enjoy it, and thats where they maintain there community base. Sins wasn't designed with Competitive spirit in mind and it's completely dead online. Most players who go into a game e
You can have people who claim to be good at a game suck at balancing, Just look at DeadMG or Funkoff for Supcom/FA. The devs don't need to make a game that most people will play. If you make a game that is intensely competitive and it becomes the standard of competitive gaming, then a player base of the whole spectrum of skills will appear behind it. You make the game in your image and people decide if they want to play it. If you try and appease people suddenly the Germans control Pola
Actually Innociv I said Company of heroes+Opposing Fronts was well done. If you read it properly you'll see I said Guild wars was complete and utter shit.(the original was great) The expansions ruined the game entirely, and from a competitive standpoint you had to buy both crappy expansions because the new characters made the whole thing pointless.
Anythign regardless of how difficult to obtain will eventually be obtained by players, getting punished for getting 15 consecutive kills without dying is my idea of a bad day. I like the idea of visual effects, things that have no effect on gameplay are fine, but anything that alters the competitive atmosphere, is a bad decision.
I was gonna give it a try as i usually enjoy games like this, and TVS games in general. But it doesn;t Accept hotmail as a valid email address, so they can go fuck themselves. I played Battlecorp a while back when they were beta testing their game and it was similar and a ton of fun. with planets to invade battles with multiple players, then they made it a Pay to stay thing and i threw it out the window.
If I could give you 'Special' karma for double posting i would. Do demigods bleed? and i think they want to keep a low ESRB rating so that kids can still play the game. More purchases=Larger Community=More players=more people for me to beat. Yeah I said it, I got no problem beating children.
I'd have no problem with DLC things AZ. I mean if i didn't have to buy FA to play FA I wouldn't have, but they used a different system there as they only added some units and 1 faction. Company of Heroes and Opposing fronts is a good example though. People with the Original CoH can still play against people with OF, and vice versa, they just don't have access to content they've bought. As long as you get what you pay for it works out well, and with Impulse being the main l
My vote is to keep the vampire lord until PAX when we can get a good look at him and decide afterwards. Or throughout the beta even. Trying to name something from nothing is too hard. It's like having a child and naming it "Beth" only to find out you had a son...
Ahh Stardock and THQ are on opposite ends of the building. I wanted Publisher wars 1.0 I guessed we'd see 2 and 1 map but tyo said they had more then that (Vamp Lord included) so hopefully they have at least 4 or more ready
yes a 10.0 for presentation. If we use the arguments that gameplay has some similar elements, then we could call it Battlefield 1942-bc. Because they've said it has Battlefield like respawns and capture points. Actually lets call it The Tale of Hercules. as we are trying to ascend to God hood right? Our woudl be hero is giving strength either through his death or through the All father sticking in some woman he likes and BAM I'm a demigod and must grasp for the mantle of Immort
They won't have it in the game, this post was created as a joke, or at least thats what it has become, As you may have guess from me posting instructions on how to draw Trogdor the Burninator!
xBlackxStarx Be_Set is just a community person, he isn't involved in any way with the game or either company, anything he says is speculation, but it's generally agreed on that the game will have some form of replays because Supcom had them and it's supcoms engine. Also every game released in the last 2 years has had a replay and it' suicide not to have one. What really tests a games competitive edge is observers slots and the level of control they have, for Shout casters and E
