You don't actually need to get Demigod kills to win. Go Queen of Shields and you'll be able to survive almost anything the opposing Demigod can throw at you. He'll be running back to his crystal a lot more than you will, giving you a gold/xp and warscore advantage. The ultimate goal is to kill the citadel, you can do that without killing a single Demigod if you haven't died yourself.

The game doesn't handle alt-tab very wel. If it's booting up or loading a game in alt-tabbed mode it also crashes for me.

Teleport scrolls are your friend.

The trebuchets and Finger of God are mostly there to help against late-game reinforcements, I'm guessing. A finger of god strike in a reinforcement wave means it's half-dead, leaving your own troops free to push forward. Suppose it's good if you're playing a DG that lacks AE.

They're melee minions and you start off getting 1 yeti per summon. So yes, they're really that bad in the early game. By the time you get to mid/late-game, they're definatly not worth the skill points.
