The situation in demigod right now is you can get challenged only in 1 on 1 games (and maybe organised tournaments for 1 on 1) because it needs different tacticts than team ver team games or maybe playing random team games.
1v1 is silly, its not what the game was designed for at all. Organized team vs Organized team is challenging, but as I/others have been pointing out, the game does not have adequate mechan

If I ever see that game when my team is on, we're going join it, deny being premade if necessary, and kick his ass. EDIT - oh wait, he'd just leave to discount the game. Shitter.
Premades are playing this game the way its meant to be played. If you aren't premade, you have no room to complain. Either find a premade or deal with the natural difficulties of being a pug. If anything is killing the community, its: 1. GPG not including basic features to support premades (team automatch, clans, friend system, replays) 2. Whiney puggers like the OP who think they are entitled to something.
SoFFacet, that was my point. That the competitive community won't be formed when premade teams endlessly noob stomp. There is probably a dozen or so pre-made teams with records of something like 100-2 or so. I don't understand you guys stomping noobs for hundreds of games. It seems almost insane - like someone playing on the easy difficulty over and over and over again never getting challenged. What do you get out of it? Why don't y
This isn't Frogboy's fault, or Stardock's. The blame here is on GPG. As Frogboy said, "this is the game that GPG intended to make." Thats great, now we know whose fault it is that Demigod does not have basic game features! If there is an ounce of accountability around here, its obvious what should be done. Replace the DG project leaders at GPG. It is beyond obvious that their judgement is severely impaired, that they would dare be satisfied with such a broken half-game. I forget who said this
Nobody want to know anything about you. Just be decent and title your premade games and don't come here and say that "this community isn't a competitive one".
Healer, your posts are incoherent and your objections are misguided.
Quoting WickedBear, reply 11Honestly, this community isn't a competitive one. I have no idea where you got that. Yeah this isn't really a competitive game, and certainly doesn't have a competitive community, if anything it is the opposite.
Agreed with these two. Demigod doesn't have a competitive community.
Well, my partner and I use UB + Sed specifically because we think its the strongest, so uh, I'm not surprised to hear you say this, but I'm not sure exactly what to tell you. I wouldn't use Rook if I were you, hes weak for 2v2s. If you could convince your friend to use a different DG, Oak + LE is the other great 2v2 combo, in my experience. Its not a direct counter but it'll get you close enough to try to win by outplaying them.
1. No matter what I say on this matter you'll never take my word for it, so I won't waste any more keystrokes. 2. 2v2 Prison, LE + Oak. Buy idols, level up minion skills. Farm creep waves, send troops to enemy base. Activate Horn when troops are threatened. Ignore outer towers and go directly for arrow towers guarding Citadel. Continue farming creeps and sending waves of minions. Kill Citadel. If you leave a DG back to kill minions, they hold all flags all game since your other
Except when Oak does it, he pays for it in more than just mana. Spirits are a MAJOR source of Oak's auto-attack damage. If he's constantly sending them to kamikaze the towers then he's doing a lot less damage himself. Nightwalkers though... nightwalkers are literally just fodder. Whether they are alive does not affect Erebus in any way
What need of autoattack damage does Oak have if your citadel is dead?
Agree about the horn, but minions absolutely
1. As far as I remember the only time we've argued with one another is that thread where you had that delusion about happy-fairy-princess-unicorn-land where the devs could balance the game so even a noob could counter everything. So if by "someone like me," you mean "someone a vast amount of experience in dealing with proper balance and competition, and logical arguments that support his point of view," then yes, you were correct to expect me. 2. So you feel X and I feel not-X,
Generally speaking I try not to rely on exploits to win my games.
Generally speaking I try not to reduce my effectiveness based on arbitrary rules that no one else is obliged to follow.
1. You were actually anticipating/awaiting/preparing for my arrival in this thread? Uh huh... 2. If you're only talking about the free nature of nightwalkers, then like I said, no problem, its just one of Erebus's quirks. Like Rook getting automated weapons, or UB moving at 6.3, or (relevantly) Regulus outranging towers. 3. Regulus can't kill your towers unless you ignore him. Considering almost all the towers are in the creep paths, which you should want to be in
Interesting read Zech, I'm sure that many premades have been thinking alot about similar things. My 2v2 partner and I are still deciding whether we're going to continue playing DG, but if/when we leave we'll be sure to post a detailed description of how we roll. Stardock's doing all they can do afaict. GPG is the one dropping the ball.
Almost any DG can kill towers pretty easily. Any general can buy seige idols, or just tank them for a while and then back up to let their priest minions heal them. UB can spit. TB can fireball. Reg can autoattack from out of range. None of these work unless they leave you alone with their tower. If you're willing to spend the time to kill it and they cant or wont defend it, they dont deserve to keep it. Reg outranging towers is fine. Minions in general need to be addressed. The free n

It is just too evident to me that this will be a forward progression of things to come. When I hear things like "I know im the minority on this, [but im going to do it any
It is rather infuriating at first, to be killed by snipe. After a while the feeling turns into something more like embarassment ("dammit, how the heck did I fall for that trick, again "). Also you can probably imagine that the Regulus player on the other end probably experiences an equal and opposite amount of glee every time he pulls this off, so its not like its unhealthy for game enjoyment on the whole. As for countering it, Transitive had excellent advice. Be wary of
Frogboy, I'm surprised to see you admit that Demigod has been mishandled, but its big of you to say that, so I appreciate it. I think Transitive has an excellent idea: a special edition with all the essential features (replays, team automatch) and new stuff (maps, DGs). The community would get what it wants (needs), and there would be plenty of economic incentive to do it.
Assuming that basic game functions are implemented, the competitive and casual communities typically do not overlap or come into conflict with one another, the way they have in Demigod. As long as there aren't competitives ruining their fun, casuals are typically happy with whatever the game happens to be or become. They require very little upkeep, perhaps a new map here, a new DG there, and they will be happy. Competitives too are relatively easy to please, all they as
When using Silence, do you keep a count in your head of when your oppoenent's cooldown is going to expire? Otherwise, you're just using Silence during the normal cooldown to no effect. One of them is to count the cooldown of an enemy skill and use Silence right before it expires, thereby increasi
Steps for fixing this game: 1. Accurate stat tracking for all games. 2. Team Automatch so premades can play eachother. 3. Truly seperate custom and automatch stats: "Top Players" ladder displays automatch stats. Custom games count in a seperate ladder so puggers can still track their stats, but wont interfere with the meaningful automatch ladder stats.
Sedna has so many good abilities that what you should get really depends on what your situation is. I play Sedna a lot and the order I take things is different almost every game! The only thing that I think is *required* is Healing Wind 2 at Level 5. Besides that what you get should reflect what you need. I wouldn't worry too much, Sedna's skills are all so money that as long as you aren't buying Yeti's or Morale, you aren't too far off co
