I'm not entirely sure how the mechanics of monks work. Do they heal themselves? When they do, are they not healing you? Is it their priority to heal you before themselves?
Priests prioritize healing DGs. A single unit may be healed once per 8s. Priests will heal themselves if you are not injured or have already been healed within the last 8s. Since you get two monks, they end up healing themselves quite often without detracting from the healing they gi

Skipping tower regen in smaller games is often a good idea. For example, if you've got 650 gold leftover on your first trip back in a 2v2 Prison game, we're talking about Tower Regen vs Scalemail + Potion. Thats a no-brainer if I ever saw one. Priests aren't horrible feeders anymore, but I still don't like them enough to buy them right away. My policy is usually to just upgrade them a little after the other team does, so I get a small jump in xp/gold but don't get swamped by sup
The point of the snipe ability, the thing that makes snipe snipe, is not the damage. It is the range. Which the skill clearly has. It has the most range out of any other demigod ability by far, and after the Heaven's Wrath favor item, it has the longest range in the entire game. I do not see why it is more "balanced" to make it do more damage the further away the target is.
Think of it as a reward for using the snip

Discussions like these are useful for thinking about these things in the absence of data, but I doubt that they'll ever be enough to convince anyone to change their mind once they've already made it up, regardless of how many good points are made. Therefore the best way to prove that doubles are or are not OP would be to have a large amount of data regarding the win rates of high level doubled teams, compared to high level non-doubled teams. Of course, that data does not currently exist. Howe
Good luck doing that with a 66% movement speed against ranged characters. Maim stacks with itself (I think) and having multiple people buy Wyrmskin handguards with a Poison dagger means that we can keep any one person at 66% movement speed. Once proximity mines and mark of the betrayer are used, you will *constantly* be at 66% movement speed, no matter how much you stack speed items. You'll easily get ganked, or we can j

Lets say DG build X1 is strong in aspect A and weak in aspect B. DG build X2 is strong in A and weak in C. DG Y1 is strong in B and weak in C. DG build Y2 is strong in D and weak in E. DG build Z1 is strong in C and weak in B. How does that information tell you anything about which DG counters which

The only part of your build that will stoke major debate, I think, is BotS. I personally have never tried it so I'm not really in a position to tell you that its worse, but having 800 less HP at level 1 would make me nervous. But tell you what, I'll get my partner to try it next time we play. He plays a BotF Hybrid all the time, and we'll report back on the pros and cons of each. By the way, Zech, you have now posted several threads within only a few hours of eachother, all quit
maybe all premades use sedna + UB + erebus
No doubt its a strong combination.
It's possible, but why do you think they choose those? Thing is, you can't actually factor out player preference from skill. If only the best players use sedna, it is probably because she is quite awesome.
This is what I was saying earlier.
Game theory (it's a branch of social sciences) suggests that if one team plays as one type of demigod, then the game should never be started. Here's what should probably happen if teams were trying to maximize advantages: 1. Forces of Light pick to go all Reguluses 2. Forces of Darkness pick all Oak. 3. Forces of Light change their mind and switches to all Sedna's. 4. Forces of Darkness switch to all Erebuses. etc.... The g

Every game I play in people have this strange obsession with variety. My fun comes from outplaying my opponents, and I don't particularly care how many different pretty pictures are in the background when I do so.

According to Kestrel its "the best level 1 skill in the game, bar none," but I'm not seeing it. However, its probably the best Oak can do, since all his other level 1 skills are bad.
