skill level or equipment staying between matches is just a bad idea if you want a fair and even playing field - at least if is for multiplayer, in singleplayer its perfectly fine. Demigod isn't a RPG after all.

we've been on azeroth (east) last night, so I guess we'll be there again
not being a impulse guru (only installed it yesterday) I would say "jein" (knowing that you are german :P). you can buy stuff via impulse but will be also their multiplayer client (which intends to use advanced NAT negotiation to reduce connection issues which is great news), doesn't use annoying DRM methods and allows you to manage games/applications you didn't buy via impulse (and if they cooperate with stardock you can even install/patch software you didn't buy via impulse originally
we need a meeting point then, I suggest "op Demigod" at the Azeroth Server (US East) you might want to get the map before at (ingame download of such big maps can be quite slow and sometimes totally stop in wc3) http://www.getdota.com/ (get both the latest and the stable version, just to be sure)
I'll be there as well as long as it isn't after 1 am GMT.
I have no idea why it should be halo style (I don't even know how it is in halo), but I can assure you that there will be a good skill based ranking system, maybe Elo-rating like in supreme commander. Elo however, while being very accurate in measuring skill, has the motivational problem for more casual gamers that you start with an average rating and lose as much points as you win vs an equal rated opponent from the first game on, while almost everyone can climb to level 20 or 25 in warcraft II
You level up in Demigod and you start every game with level 1 again (I doubt you will start with level 0 :P) The only thing which remains from game to game are solely of aesthetical nature : your Achievements (like being Top 100 in ladder or having won 100 ranked games or whatever the achievements will be) will be visible as non-gameplay-affecting monuments (maybe they will also affect the look of your Demigod and/or other things but I am not sure about that) (check GPG forums if yo
unlike most others or maybe all here, I played SC2 already (@ Games Convention) and I can assure you that it will live up to SC1 easily. Yes Starcraft is an fast Action-RTS and so is Starcraft II but Blizzard never tried to hide that, Starcraft II isn't revolutionary either when it comes to new game features but all the new (compared to SC1) features it had felt "right" (remember we are speaking about pre-alpha here): MBS, Automining and Ulimited Unit Selection removes most of the repetitiv
I would expect it to be smaller than the supcom beta because it doesnt have 3 factions á 150 Units. But then maybe the superior artwork eats it all again. I doubt it will be more than 1 Gig though.
appearance of Demigod changes when you take certain skills (like the catapult on one of the rook's towers), maybe with Items as well (nothing officially said yet I think) and iirc it is planned that the achievements/awards you got in Demigod-Multiplayer are shown in gameplay irrelevant but nice looking bonus monuments and customized appearance of Demigods (i.e. if you are top 10 Player your Demigod wears a gold crown or something like that - doubt that there will be really a crown, just so you g

It will be on TGN, but nothing said about the when yet. [Source :http://forums.gaspowered.com/viewtopic.php?t=28075&start=25 - kryo's Post]
1) Any Combination will be possible : 5 of One type or 4 and 1 or 3 and 2. They say that balance will be okay for any combination - also I still doubt that and think its okay if in a 5v5 you need at least 1 or 2 of any type. It only is bad if 3 Generals and 2 Assassins or vice versa would be the only viable solution - I am confident that the Beta will manage to achieve that goal. 2) It will have Multiplayer of course. Demigod is mainly a Multiplayer game. I heard that Sins doesn't f
who said that Demigod is Dota? :o and if GPG doesn't screw it up, Demigod will still appeal to Dota players from what I have read so far

found that sentence in those news at sinsofasolarempire.com: "You'll be able to find available games in Sins, Demigod, or The Political Machine (for starters) right from Impulse." Does that mean that Demigods online match making platform won't be GPGnet? If so, make sure you include all the cool features of GPGnet (live-replays, replay/map/mod vault) and polish it a bit more than GPGnet in its current state :-)
I don't know how it worked in Myth but from what has been told so far in Demigod there are 2 Types of heroes, The Assassins who spends their money ( you start with some, I guess at least and you earn it for destroying enemies) mainly on Items to improve themselves and The Generals who spends their money mainly on building different types of barracks, improving them and of course training units in them. The Goal is to destroy a specific Building at the heart of the enemy base (or maybe t
http://www.demigodthegame.com/preorder/ says in brackets [Download + Retail Box]; does that mean that I can choose either download or retail version or that I have to buy the combined version at the current time. I don't want to spend 20$ on shipping and I didnt find a option to buy the download only version. And you really should try to some way to allow people without credit card to pre-order your products. (maybe open an bank account somewhere in Europe and allow wire transfer , I don'
Well, one big Advantage GPG has over Dota is that Demigod games won't be custom mod games like dota, but have ranked games on the one side where there is a big incentive not to leave the game and they can restrict some awards to people who don't leave (or don't leave often at least) or maybe even implement some punishment system for leavers (like the deserteur enchantment in Guild Wars where you can't join a PvP match for some time, although I believe that rewarding the good mannered players is
@Omniknight, They might not achieve a truly balanced state of the game in the beta but I am sure that it is possible to get a balance which is good enough to have it fun for everyone in Version 1.0. No good game will ever get a near to perfect balance soon after release, the reason for this lies in the very nature of good games: They offer so many possibilites and combinations that the gameplay evolves over time and things thought to be balanced (and things to be thought unbalanced as well!) sud
