That sounds absolutely amazing! I'm really excited! And thanks for the update. Now that I know what's going on, I feel a lot better.

I bought all the $4 games. I mean those 3 games @ $4 cost me $12. If they weren't on sale they would cost $80! What's not to love!?!?

...unless they are adding new features so we can test those out, which is what I hear they are doing. Beta is about testing things out. They want to make sure we get to test out all the features. I mean sure they don't need it to be perfect, but they need to make it work well enough so that we can see how it works and if we like how they work. Beta 2 is a whole new thing. It's no longer testing the engine and not caring about the little bugs and balance. Beta 2 is to get the b
Thanks TBO, I did not know that. The other reason I like A though is because it is close to the 1, 2, 3 and 4 key which was nice, but if they make it another key that is in that vicinity, that would be ok to I suppose. My finger is also really used to hitting A thanks to starcraft/warcraft and other RTS game, so now I sometimes move the screen and stop following my demigod by mistakingly hitting A. Then I have to go find the T key in order to re-target my Demigod.
replying so I can see this in "My Replies"
I know it's been taken out since the first beta patch, but I personally thought having A used for attacking was really nice. Now that it uses wasd for moving the screen I don't know how to set my demigod to move to a location while attacking everything along the way. Anyone else find this a problem? Also, I believe Edge-scrolling will be implemented in Beta 2. When that comes I feel like wasd won't be as important. What does everyone else think?
Kestrel makes a good point. The thing I hear from DotA players most is that there aren't "enough" heroes. Whether or not this ends up being good or bad (I personally think it will be just fine), that isn't going to change. We're never going to see 90+ Demigods. So what can be done to make it a game you WILL enjoy, instead of commenting on things that cannot be changed? EDIT: Jinx beat me by 18 seconds
Jinx... how long has DotA been around? How long have they been able to make updates? How many heroes did Dota start with? Plus they plan on adding more demigods eventually. How many maps does Dota have? Are there capturable flags in Dota? Are there Generals? To sum up, Demigod is new and while the number of demigods is likely to never reach the high 90s, there will be more as well as other updates to the game to make it better. It also includes other strategic elements
Aww, well at the very least I came up with a similar idea without conciously taking it from somewhere else, and that still makes me feel all special inside. [e digicons][/e] As for a name, War Score sounds pretty good. And it rhymes! I like it.

Sorry Kestrel, it seems I didn't read into your rank thing completely earlier. And Trige, I really love your idea! Soccer, I always think the more options available, the better, so sounds good to me.
but at the same time, all the other demigods will be fighting each other as well and since the middle is no where near the action, the demigods aren't going to be hanging around there very often. Of course we could just put an artifact shop in the middle with no flag leaving it open to everyone.
I like your idea kestrel. One thing that I'm thinking about, is someone could play 1000 games and lose each time and not make the greatest decisions. How do we weed them out?
oh right, I forgot you haven't played yet. But yeah, I agree with you. Although now that I'm thinking about it, there are a lot of flags that are in areas only demigods can reach... The mine level has a double gold mine and artifact shop way away from the creeps path and the war idol is also just a little ways away from it, and in atlantis the side creep portals are also away from creeps, until the flags been taken of course. I hadn't really noticed that until now...
also, about the percentage thing, soccer. It's like capitalism. Whoever works harder, gets their reward. [e digicons][/e] People will have an incentive to do better, without actually loosing much if they aren't doing well or are new to the game. Being able to choose the upgrade isn't a huge deal, so I don't think anyone will be too upset if they don't get as much of a say as the person who is doing better that round. And it's almost the same as if people were spe
And I have to say Iprometheus, I thought it was funny that directly after he said he reported you for flaming, you call him an idiot. Really shows that you know how to earn people's respect. Like soccer said, we all have ideas that we like, and we are trying to find some middle ground. Just because you think you have a good idea doesn't mean everyone else agrees with it and that you are right. You've got to open your mind to other ideas. There's really no reason to call people names,
I understand that, but I haven't found a problem with that in Waterfall, because its an artifact shop, and you don't need to possess it at all times. I think if there was an artifact shop in the middle it wouldn't be too bad.
that sounds really cool. And maybe the percentage each person gets for the vote is for the percentage of currency they accumulated compared to the total. I like it! Yay democracy!

[quote who="lprometheus" reply="22" id="1968540"] The team will most certainly have a shared citadel. You have strange and confusing ideas Ipromethus, and frequently make rude or overexagerated statements. I am sure each person will NOT get their own portal. Well it is like this I don’t want an Idiot like you making the decisions for upgrade for the whole team and who made you the alpha god of the forms. The only way they can do it and have a hope of it not b
yeah, i think that might be the easiest solution, just forget the middle as a lane altogether. Now we just have to convince the devs that this is a good idea :-P
I really like that idea, but the problem is how to choose where to send the creeps. And I'm not sure that its possible to path one portal in 3 directions, but if it works, awesome.
I as thinking maybe having no middle (or at least using the middle for something else other then lanes) and having the creeps go around the outside lanes but their pathing sends them to the opposite corner, so as player 1 you start by send your creeps to 2 and 3, but lets say player 2 is defeated. Then your cereps would continue down towards player 4. Maybe even when player 4 is defeated. those creeps that were attacking player 4 would move to the left to attack player 3 from the right side.
