This "smash the game icon ~50 times" workaround functions perfectly for me, too! Just add it to the documentation when the game is released and problem solved. [e digicons][/e]

I do have a Logitech webcam! Also, strangely, last night after getting the error above, I double-clicked again and the game ran just fine.
I'm sorry to report that I'm still getting this error. I have installed the latest version available (I even uninstalled the "patched" version completely and then downloaded the entire game all over again and I still get the error in the screenshot above). Worth noting is that this usually happens when I try to start the game and NOTHING happens. The busy cursor flashes for a split second, then nothing. No error, and certainly no beta to play! Heh... I
Ok, I just tried again just for the heck of it and it works. I didn't reboot my PC, I didn't restart Impulse, I didn't re-enable or disable anything and it *just works*. Lots of bug fixing to do IMHO...
Ok, I'm having the exact same problem. After I installed Impulse then downloaded the beta, it would not run at all (exactly the same symptoms as others are describing: start Impulse, double-click Demigod and *nothing* happens - a second or two of the cursor switching to the hour glass then nothing). I uninstalled the application and removed (deleted) Demigod, then re-downloaded and installed it again. Then it worked once or twice, and now it isn't working again.
What did you do to fix it? TIA!
When trying to launch Demigod from within Impulse, immediately get a Visual C++ Runtime error. See attached screenshot. Well, I would but there doesn't appear to be a way to upload images.
