The whole point to number 3 is to make you treasure the keys. They should be used when you have a steady enough hand in the game to control the flag and/or make a final push to end the game. They shouldn't be used willy nilly. Imagine a 3v3. You think the has advanced far enough and you have a shot at winning but the opposing team has just locked the middle and their two flags. So you send a guy to one of their portals and you use another of your teams 3 keys to

I am not sure what it is about Winamp that causes Demigod to crash but here is how to reproduce it. I read the other crash errors and none seemed the same. 1) Open Demigod 2) Go to lan and host a game(but don't start just sit in the lobby) 3) Minimize Demigod and run Winamp. 4) Game will crash with a fatal error.(LOG below) Failed assertion: (_controlfp(0, 0) & 0x00030000) == 0x00020000 File: C:\work\forge\beta\code\s

@innociv: WTF inno :/ Did you even read the thread before posting? I said you'd get one key(which is used for unlocking) per game. @DeadMG: A 2 hour demigod game!?! If demigod games start lasting 2 hours the game has bigger problems then locks. A typical game is supposed to be somewhere be 40-60min long I believe. Most my 3v3 games take about that long so you figure it takes a whole hour(which is a long game in my experience). So 60 minutes and 6 un

1) I don't see why working on other game modes will make the main mode worse. I really think having more game modes adds to te game alot. 2) I'm not against mod support but look at a game like counter-strike. You have plant the bomb / rescue the hostages / VIP modes and you still have modded counter-strike games. 3) Programming more game modes into the game actually makes things easier for "custom map" creators. The more they tweak the engine to create differ

The basic idea is that everyone picks their favorite demigod(maybe just from the assasian option) and you go through a large fairly linear map with several flags. The flags are outposts that once captured act as healing/shopping locations. There would be creeps/Demigods(AI) at the flags that you must kill in order to cap the flag. The challenge would be in working together as a group to take out these things. The basic goal would to be to clear the stage as fast as pos

I think it would be cool if you had a game mode where all players are on the same team. Then waves of creeps are sent against you and you have to kill them. You would have limited resources and it would be in part cooperative. You could add a competive element to the mode by keeping a scoreboard of creep kills. I just find that killing massive ammounts of creeps is entertaining so a game mode centered around it would be cool.

Vision range has to be short because there are no obstacles that obstruct your view in this game. If they added objects to the map that you could hide behind you could easily increase the vision range. If vision range was increased as the game is you could never sneak up on anybody.

Popping up over the gold and experience bar seems like a good non-intrusive solution. You could also turn it off if you didn't like it. Having the option is always nice and I think alot of people would use it.

I have a three-fold proposition for flag locking. It both keeps their strategic importance in the game and gives many valuable ways to counter them. It also scales nicely from 1v1 to 5v5. 1) Increase the casting time for the lock item to 6/7 seconds 2) Make the flag locking item interruptable by simply taking any damage 3) Give each player one unlock per game! Explainations: 1) Locks are currently applied too fa

I'll say it again this isn't a broken mechanic, labeling it as such doesn't help discussion at all. I've played so many games where people get the first taste of a game and instantly start declaring mechanics broken. Lets take DotA for an example. So many people who first play the game think the dagon is a broken item. It certaintly seems very powerful for a new player but experienced players know how to deal with it and once they do its actually considered a fairly we

Simply have your rooks and TBs stand outside range of each other. The opposing team tries the teleport in nova strategy and your rook who is outside range chucks a rock. Everyone will come out of frost and its GG to that brass Torch Bearer. I'm not assuming that either side is stupid. Either side could win or lose this battle for the flag its a matter of strategy and skill of the players. Another thing they could do is have their own TB teleport in right after

I like your wall idea but making him lose levels is kind of drastic. However, making a wall would be an interesting ability to control the flow of creeps and demigods.

I'll have to agree with inno's last post that you should be able to select your 5 items through any combination of the shops. Anyways with the stacking thing it would be best if 25% aspd + 25% aspd = 50% aspd. The math would be easier and simpler to understand. Just balance items so they can stack that way. -25% cooldown on two items is too much so simply lower them both by 10% or something.

Is the bounty given only if you get the last blow, are in the area or is it just split between your whole team? Do you get more experience when you get the last blow? What range do you have to be in to get experience, is experience a 50-50 split or is it something more like 70-70? Thanks for posting the info its very interesting.

So what do you guys think? I think it could be useful especially for new players who may fall behind in levels to be able to buy experience points. I think it could be balanced because buying experience means less items later in the game. I'm not going to throw out any specific numbers but I imagine it being more for lower levels to catch up rather than a feasible way for someone to get WAY ahead in levels.

A shop button while sounds great but we've gotten a bit off topic lol. Anyways I think you should be able to buy back with the price depending on how many seconds until ressurection. Obviously not dieing is always an option but its nice to have something to do just in case. I mean if I have 10000 gold in my reserves and am dead and losing it would be nice to be able to use some of it to buy back. As for the one-sided arguement you could just kill the guy several time

It looks like some people misunderstood me. I wasn't saying that they should change anything really. I was just mentioning that it was an aspect of the game I really liked and hoped to see more of on future heroes. As key as it is to suggest changes or point out bad things I think we should also let the developers know what features we really like and this isa big one for me.

What if you were to split the attribute bonuses into 3 categories shared by all demigods? 1 ) Stun Resistance ( reduces time spent in stun by a % ) 2 ) Damage Resistance ( reduces incoming damage by a % ) 3 ) Crit Chance ( increases crit chance by a % ) #2 and #3 are given by items but #1 would be a new stat. This way each one could be more focused and a demigod would only want to get the ones he needs.

Inno you are the one who doesn't understand. Its probably my fault for not being clear enough. To lock a flag you have to be nearby it. To be nearby it you need to be alive. You go to the flag(that is locked by the other team) before they relock it. You stand there. When they come to relock it you kill them. You take the flag after another minute. You lock the flag. Its that simple. Here is a nice step-by-step to prove my poi

64 Replies 131,283 Views

You have to protect the flag in advanced. If you are giving them the time to get close enough and lock it you are doing it wrong. You stand there with 3 heroes and they can't lock it because before they can you kill them. We would go in about 4:00 / 4:30 and try to relock the flag but with their whole team there they were able to fight us off a few times and cap the flag. If you can't cap the flag back its because you're not doing it right. You could say well the

Alot of the ePeen group is going to have a sheet next to them where they track kills anyway. I say put it up there so you can see who is doing well and needs to be avoided/killed.
