Hellow I recieve and error(img below) when I try to run Demigod. I am home for the holidays and thought I'd try to see if Demigod worked on my mother's laptop. Its definitely not a top of the line gamer machine but it can run other games well. I was expecting the game to maybe be sluggish but I figured it would still run. It should at least come up with a message like "Your computer sucks you can't play Demigod". Anyways here are the specs: OS Windows X

I think this is a good idea as well. If you've ever played Guild Wars that game was built entirely around this idea. If this gets implemented then I think it is a MUST to allow me to drag and drop my skills to different hotkeys(like what you do in MMOs).
I'd love to see this out by Thanksgiving. Lets see if my undying trust in GPG by giving up my money before the game is even made pays off!
Perhaps useless is too strong a word for the new Demigod. I had already realized his damage potential the minute I opened his skill tree as I think anyone who played Beta 1 could. However, rook is still stronger because he can actually stun you for 5 seconds and get some hits off. Unclean beast can get about one hit off then you run from him. Movement speed is grossly overrated. You cannot melee attack a fleeing demigod in this game regardless of the difference i
From OP: "Ring of Fire first its too weak altho beta 1 was bugged now that its fixed i feel like the bug was better cause any idiot who isnt stunned for for 12 seconds can easily walk out of that painfully weak atk altho it works for creeps these assassins and sopposedly hero killers and if hes not stuned for the 12 seconds (1 for cast 10 for spell and 1 for leaving the ring cause i see it do dmg even after the ring is gone altho only for another secnd) hes retarded hell be out of tha
I believe Random_Guy has summed up most if not all I'd like to say. This game is supposed to be competitive. Competitive online rts/strategy games have Metagames. That said a Demigod player's skill will basically come down to two things: Theory - Understanding the game mechanics( every skill/item) and calculating new ways to make them work for you. Execution - Actually playing your demigod. Leading your boulder throws and having a good general s
Your Skills: Time Walk - Teleportation with a new graphical effect Time Anchor - This one is fairly unique Time Shock - AoE damage + slow Time Cage - Reuse of Time Anchor The Time anchor idea is ok and fairly unique but the other three are pretty vanilla as inno said. Suggestions: Time Rift -&nb
This sounds like a great idea to me. It'd be cool to have these in the game.
I think HorseRadish is trying to say that Beta 1A has been a step back in many ways. In my personal experience it has more bugs and less gameplay. I think less items is a step back because now I feel that the importance of items has drastically decreased. The power they grant has be nerfed across the board for practically every item. It also seems you are given more gold to buy these items that do less for you than before. The addition of a new demigod and map is
Rook's hammer smash has always been targeted only. However, I do agree that hammer smash should become ground targeted for leading purposes.
They reduced the damage but drastically increased the range of snipe. Its a strange adjustment but I guess they felt it was a good trade off? [RANT] Stop hiding behind "Beta 1 is not for balance". If balance like changes are made to the game(1-1A) and they are poor decisions they are fair game for criticism. If Beta 1 was not for balance then snipe would be the same damage. If someone feels they took a skill in the wrong direction of balancing
This was really one of the major features I wish they would have fixed for 1A. This is why stuns are so important. Without them melee heroes, no matter how fast, cannot kill you with their physical attacks(assumming you actually start moving before you die). DotA has this problem to an extent as well but not nearly to the extent of Demigod. I think the solution is to not require a unit to stop moving in order to attack. It'd work similiar to the ways tanks shoot
Just to say I am also running XP Pro x64 but I do NOT have this problem. It seems we have similiar cards as well. Mine is an GeForce 8800GTS. A clean reinstall of the game might fix this?
I'd give up my ham for a good bacon anyday. However the real stuff is the sausage patties.
A cool idea to have abilities scale would be to have spells use a certain % of your mana pool. The amount of mana they use determines their strength. For instance fireball might use 15% of your mana and do 3/4/5 damage per mana point used. This means with a 1000 mana the level 3 spell would do 750 damage. At 2000 mana it would do 1500 etc... The numbers I put were probably too strong but you get the idea. This would lead spell casters to buy more actually m
- Still not sure if there will be neutral mobs...if so, killing the big bad ogre should earn your team a key - The golden snitch model - keys are flying all over the map, you have to move fast and be lucky to grab one
Great feedback Ke5trel. I especially like these two ideas for gaining back keys. Particularly because they give both teams the oppurtunity to prevent the other team from taking the keys.</p
The main thing I like about this idea is the fact that you could rebuild your towers that will hold the creeps at bay(though late in the game they are pretty inecffective) and lash back at your opponents. Rebuilding your towers willy nilly would just be giving free gold to the oppposing team. The reason I see itt this way is that late game Demigods are so much more powerful than towers its ridiculous. Thats why they would have to be scaled and be a bit more powerful(but stil
I edited the OP to add the regaining locks possibility and the graphical indication that a flag is locked. Anyways what are other good ways to earn your key back? I think 5 kills in a row would be fine. The opponents could counter this by simply focusing on killing you to reset your streak. However, are generals going to be killing other demigods too? I am drawing blanks on other ideas for gaining your keys back so does anyone have a suggestion for that(oth
I'm all for modding. If you got from my post I am against modding I'm sorry but I love mods. I really don't think anyone is opposed to the idea modding. However, simply because there is modding however does not mean the game has to have only 1 game mode at launch and leave any others to modding. Having more game modes at release "officially" supported means there are more ways to compete online. I think it would be cool if there were some time trial RPG thing lik
I like the idea where neutral creeps protect mines/portals. Perhaps in a 1v1 map healers(or insert unit here) doesn't spawn. The only way to spawn them is to capture a portal defended by a large number of them. I was also was inspired by this. WHat if you had neutral creeps on an alternate path(that the team creeps would not go to). This means it would be constantly under fog unless a demigod was there. It would be a sneaky backdoor/tunnel
First off thanks for the feedback and thoughtful post Kestrel. The problems I see with current suggested solutions are: A) Nothing really deals with the stun then lock quickly strategy. B) If you have to purchase your unlocking consumable then it really comes down to a money war on who is willing to spend more money to hold a flag and not a whole lot about strategy. C) Other solutions for locking require locking and unlocking items
Innociv is right for the most part. However I think its debatable if Demigod could ever have the depth of guild wars. Guild Wars has depth but it is also a very complicated game. There is such a backlash in the Demigod community about anything being complicated I doubt we'll ever see anything on the Guild Wars level. This isn't to say Demigod won't be fun or competitive in its own right it is just an observation I made.
It only happens while running Winamp during the lobby screen(not the loading screen). I can minimize in and out anytime I want during the lobby screen. The lobby screen I am refering to is the screen where you pick your demigod and team.
Another thing it could be is sometimes when creeps are thrown off the map your character attempts to attack them through the floor. There is no way to see them through the floor that I know of. Hope that helps. It tends to be mines though.
You get a sizeable amount of gold from just existing in the game. I imagine that if you are several levels behind you could spend it on Experience instead of items. You'll still be the weakest character but at least you will have the levels to compete. Like I said you should be prevent from doing what Asp suggested by maybe limiting it like Bullet suggested.
