I think locks are fairly balanced. Without locks all you need is one guy who happens to be passing by middle after you cap it. Within 30 seconds its flipped to neutral and 30 more seconds and its completely flipped. I would even say that requiring two defeats the purpose too. Lets say you have 2 guys with invis scrolls or teleports and they keep running into your base. A) You have to babysit that part of your base or B ) you simply apply a lock and they have to w

Tower gold could offset the advantage of rebuilding. I was thinking more that you bring up your center towers again for a minute giving you time to run and get one of theirs. They could also work slightly differently from from normal flags in that they lose their "charge" after a period of time.
I really think GPG has done something right with the passive skills changing the appearance of heroes especially on rook. I hope to see this on future heroes. What is your guys thoughts on this? I think its a very nice touch to the game.
The haze may be used to allow them to hide the reduction in graphical quality of the models as you zoom out. You may not want to see whats under the haze!
It could not get more than a 3 in my opinion but I'd go with a 1. -No Internet play. -Lan over hamachi is laggy. -Limited hero selection. -Limited maps. -Buggy as all get up(from a retail game standpoint). Of course all of these things could be fixed but we're not talking about what could be are we?
I am going to have to say I disagree with this post. I mean certaintly Demigod != DotA but that is obvious... I mean they are two seperate games. Now making changes to Demigod to simply make it LESS like DotA is fairly naive. DotA has many many good gameplay mechanics. DotA was not original in itself. If you walk down the alley of DotA history you will see it was a vastly different game in its early game. The DotA story itself is about constant iteration.&n
Towers do seem underpowered at first. It does give a unique pacing element to the game though. After many games I have come to love the way towers work. For instance a level 7 demigod can't simply run down the middle and take out the towers. After gaining power you can do substantial damage though. Catapult creeps seem a little overpowered and may simply be a gimmick put in the game now while the developers work out other pacing methods(without cats the games wou
I think these are some fine suggestions. I feel regulus seems like a light speedy muskateer running around the battlefield killing demigods and setting traps. If he has to place 30 freaking mines to do anything he is staying in one place way too long and it really ruins his flow. These suggestions look like a step in the right direction for him or the skill could simply be replaced by something more fitting.
I think it would be a great idea that if a building is destroyed it is replaced by a miniature flag. Like a normal flag it would take a specified amount of time to capture. Once captured it would be replaced by the building. The strength of the building would determine the ammount of time taken to rebuild. Also the building could get stronger each time it is resummoned to balance out with a stronger battlefield. I think this would add a new interesting gameplay m
First off let me say this sounds like a great improvement on the current system. It will logically group items by the stats they give. It would be easier for new players to simply buy an item in a store and then expect that they can upgrade the item to better but similiar stats. Intuitive is a good word to describe this method. You earned yourself some +Karma my friend. Secondly, let me say I don't understand this "I don't study games" mentality. If you want to
I think Chris Taylor mentioned it during one of his presentations at my school once.
Thanks for the positive feedback everyone I hope you all gained something from my post. I did put the 91 heroes in DotA as a pro but I can see how it could be overwhelming for a new player. Perhaps a middle ground can be achieved in Demigod. Perhaps when you first start playing you can play the 8 original Demigods but as the game develops you can gain access to more. THis way beginner's only need to learn the 8 original but players who want to take the game farther can
Well I highly doubt that Demigod Beta will have millions of rooms [e digicons]:D[/e] . If the beta LAN play is going to be anything like Warcraft 3 or other lan games you can host a game and people will see the game name and can join. What I was thinking was that if everyone was on the same Hamachi Lan it'd be like all our computers were at a lan center and we could host/join each other games without having to jump around several hamachi networks. If this doesn't work we
Network Name: Brent's Lounge Password(may not be necessary): demigod I just found out the max clients for a single network in Hamachi is 50. If you are unable to join it is probably because the network is full. So I also put up networks by the name of Brent's Lounge 2 and Brent's Lounge 3 with the same password. About Hamachi Hamachi is a client that connects computers together over a "fake" lan connection.&n
One question: you mentioned potential crowding with 6 demigods - have the developers confirmed team-based games, or did you play team-based games at PAX? Everything I have seen only talks about 1-on-1 matches, and I'm very much hoping for team battles since that was probably the deepest part of the strategy in the AoS/DotA/ToB games.
At PAX we played 3(humans)v3(AI). I was just pointing out that with 6 actual
Hello as I can see there have been many posts about the PAX gameplay experience. If you don't know Penny Arcade Expo(PAX) is a gaming expo similiar to the former E3. It is geared toward consumers where gamers can go and preview and play the latest games before they come out. I got to play Demigod there and it was a great experience I would like to share with Demigod and DotA fans alike. For DotA fans you may read this first. <a href="http://www.demigodthega
Just going to throw this out there. I was at a talk with none other than Chris Taylor as the speaker. He made the comparison to DotA himself. From what I can tell the games are going to be quite a bit different but share a lot too. If Demigod's going to be the "counter-strike" of strategy games its going to share many similarities with DotA. From what I can tell the game is similiar to DotA but the designers aren't using DotA as a template(as some seem to think). Its more out of coincidenc
I'm a frequent DotA player. I play alot so just hit me up. I can host LC and usually host even people from EU with little or no problems. I'll try to be on tonight(in about 3 hours) and tomorrow if anyone wants to get on and play. ScreenName: Brentmeister Region: battlenet.uswest
