What I mean by multiplayer spawn is that some older games (e.g. Total Annihilation) allowed you to only buy one copy of the game and then create up to 3 multiplayers spawns for a LAN play. A multiplayer spawn is a version of the game that only allows the player to join and play a multiplayer LAN game, and does not enable online play or the single player game. Unfortunately this beta of Demigod does not allow this, so the only way for you to play with one of your friends on a LAN i
Kinda related to this: If Regulus has "locked on" you, the sniper shot WILL hit. I was fighting against regulus, teleported home, and while I was teleporting, he started charging up...the shot basically traveled over the whole map to hit me in my base.
That reminds me of the Yamato Cannon from Starcraft. As soon as that cannon starts charging, the bolt would follow

Ok, well I have got a little bit further than before thanks to Shirley from Stardock support, however, it is failing at another spot now. The errors I was indicating before are not occuring anymore, now, the Demigod game starts to download (it provides the text "building file lists", then moves to the "connecting" text), but after a while (unsure how long as I went to bed), the download fails and I have the following error in the error log: -- [6/09/2008 2:03:12 AM] ----

Ok Novalith I have performed what you have asked and the results are below, however, before the results, there is another thing I would like to indicate that is an issue for me. Everytime I start up Impulse I have to re-registrar the Demigod registration. Anyway, here are the results: Results from Connection Test **Resolving dl1.impulsedriven.com** 38.98.152.152 **Resolving stardock.ca

Novalith, thanks for the info. I will go through that when I get home. I am pretty confident that the issue is not the internet connection, but it's always good to check. [e digicons]^_^[/e] With regards to your first point, I have already rebooted my PC, but that has not fixed the issue. With regards to your forth point, the message window in the bottom left corner goes through its usual stuff, but after that, there are no messages, which I assume means that it i

I currently have an issue which seems to stem from Impulse. I have received my email with the serial number, when I start up impulse I am able to registrar Demigod, but when I attempt to install the game I firstly get the EULA and when I select next the following error occurs: "Please wait until Impulse finishes connecting to install an application." It has been doing this for the last 10 minutes, and yet I cannot get past this point.
xthetenth has it right. Unique option available up to 4v4, unlocked to 5v5 when we release additional Demigods after release.
Would it be better to delay release of Demigod until you have 10 polished Demigods, instead of going with 8?
That.. was what I was saying. Point was that it gives everyone else a huge tactical advantage. It makes someone who's gotten tons of kills in a row a target. He wouldn't be able to gank people anymore.
Well we will just have to agree to differ on opinions here, I think providing that kind of mechanic is too much of a tactical advantage to the other team. On a different train of thought, but similar idea, I would really like to see a lot more focus on sound bites i
Yes. Betelgeuse is a star. But it's pronounced "Beetlejuice" pretty much. And IIRC, AFAIK, the Vampire Lord can raise termit beetle thingies or something.
Are you talking about [link="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beetlejuice"]Beetlejuice[/link] the movie?

I think Odit's idea is great as well. Just imagine being on the opposition seeing that glowing Demigod coming towards you, it would put the fear of ...ahem... god in you... With regards to innociv's idea, I don't think the god-ray being revealed regardless of the fog war is the best idea, as you can tell at all times where one of the Demigod's are in a game. Just imagine if you could tell where a Commander was at all times in a Supcom game, that would be a huge tactical advantage.
Nunehbubi is fun to say.. if it had to be a real name i'd go with that :/But I like Dr. Acula and Betelgeuse wayyyy more because they have a meaning to them.
Thanks for explaining that you didn't like Anubis due to its representation of it being a Jackal God. I think from a visual perspective, it would be unlikely that the Vampire Lord would look like a dog, so that's a fair comment, it's just that you didn't indicate that at the start so I was unsure why you were dead a
Anubis ISN'T obscure. Everyone knows Anubis. But it's Egyptian!
[link="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strigoi"]Strigoi[/link] is Romanian, [link="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhuta"]Bhuta[/link] is Indian, [link="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vampire_folklore_by_region"]Ramanga[/link] is African, [link="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kali"]Kali[/link] is Hindu.
Calling it Anubis would be baddd. ;/And any not easily recognizable name is bad too, IMO. :/"Sounds good" and "pronouncible" aren't enough qualifications on their own IMO..They need to be cool like "The Rook"...
I don't believe having an obscure name (and I don't think Anubis is an obscure name) should be a negative thing. I think it adds to the character of the game. If you look at one of the other demigod's, Regulus, he is a fallen angel and yet if you look at

Even though I am on the other side of the world and won't be going to PAX, can GPG/Stardock fill us in on what demigod related stuff they plan to show at PAX. All I have seen is that they will have a Demigod PAX build that will have more than two demigods on display. If this information is under wraps, at least let us know which day and which theatre GPG/Stardock are going to be in. :) Also, is GPG/Stardock going to be showing any other content non-Demigod related? <b

I wouldn't go with Kali as that is considered to be a female god, I like Strigoi or Bhuta (due to its double meaning, i.e. reality). Also, have you thought of Rasputin?

Supreme Commander, the engine that Demigod is using has formation move, so the code is definitely there. However, Supreme Commander formation was always a little buggy for two reasons: a. The units moved in formation at a slower speed then they had too. For example if you formation move all of the same unit, it moved slower than the unit would move normally. b. When you set up a formation move for units all over the map, units at the front moved way back to start the format

innociv, let's get back on track then. With my last post on this thread I was trying to present an idea with an aim to add more strategic depth to the skill selection, while keeping skill use (read micro-management) fairly simple. I did not assume your idea was that all direct damage ranged spells should grant AoE at a certain level. While Tyo's description of the Torchbearer's skill set is not what I would have preferred it still seems pretty good from what I can gather. I wonder if
