I’ll try to keep this simple. I’ve been an RTS fan pretty much since, well, ever. So, not surprisingly, when Supreme Commander previews started appearing, I was ecstatic. It had been almost seven years since I’d bought an entire new PC, and that was the tipping point. A week after SupCom hit shelves, I was equipped with my new box to dominate (in my mind) the future of RTS. And I bloody love that game. The

I had the map hang twice in a row, so as directed by this thread: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/351037 I deleted my "C:\Documents and Settings\ \My Documents\My Games\Gas Powered Games\Demigod folder." This was followed by a slightly entertaining picture upon trying to join games: (look at the angels). [e digicons
Just got mine: British Columbia, Canada. May 5th 2009
I thought it was QoT who says: "The bait...hides the hook" [e digicons]}:)[/e]

Finally, someone reviewing the game noticed!
[quote who="b0rsuk" reply="13" id="2155131"]I see RTS games as an evolutionary dead-end. They barely evolve at all. Starcraft in particular is closer to an arcade game than to strategy. I used to like C&C a lot before EA bought it and made a mockery of it. In Starcraft and Warcraft3: - units are very fast, vision range very short. By the time you discover enemy units you're already fighting them. - ranged units are distinguished by having arbitrary d
I've honestly probably got under 40 hours of gaming in since Demigod started tracking minutes... :(
Cheers team. [e digicons][/e]
IMO, I don't see why projectiles follow units after they've teleported. They should really just miss.
Oh, and remember: if you don't "kill enough units" to win, IT'S YOUR BLOODY FAULT.
First image links to third image as well.
Dunno if I agree with the analogy, but I agree (as a DotA player) that Demigod, while based on the same principles, is NOT going to be a simple DotA clone. If that's what you're looking for, you may be dissapointed at first (I was), but you'll hopefully recognize Demigod as the excellent game it already is. And, the multiplayer component is international; there is no "US west" vs "Asia" "realms" of playing - you can play with anyone.
Uh I've played plenty of games without desyncs - that only happens to me maybe 5% of the time. Getting a 3v3 or larger going is a bit of a task, but really, I haven't had nearly the horrible experience you guys are describing.
Skilled players will know when their opponent is low on manna anyway. IMO your manna should not be visible to your enemy.
I agree; this build actually has me thinking that maybe idol's aren't such a bad mechanic after all. I've had much more fun in 2D games, but I can't put my finger on what's causing it. Now, give me my TB back and I'll be set. [e digicons][/e]
Wow, long one. :D I usually don't read blogs, but I've enjoyed reading yours twice now - it could be that it's just because it's about Demigod, but I appreciate your logic and agree with most of your points. [e digicons][/e]
Now the forums need a new color scheme to match though.
Yah, beast eventually gets strong, but currently he's useless until the game is over (either they will win becuase you can do nothing early game, or your team will win without your help by the time you get strong enough to make a difference). However, this is a balance thing, so I'm not too worried that they'll eventually bring him up to par.
Coming from SC/FA, Demi's maps feel tiny! It would be really nice to get some larger, open maps; maybe with special "conditions" or terrain differences. (ex, swamp areas where movement speed and line of sight are lowered).
Is it supposed to stun? Because if I use it on Rook while he's winding up his hammer, the animation cancels but I still get hit by the hammer even though the animation doesn't follow through.
Wow I have a hard time reading soccer's post. l2grammar please. As to the OP, I think balancing would be more properly done by, well, balancing the characters. If a hero is "late game" in the regard that they are most powerful after aquiring certain items, I don't think they should level slower than the others.
I still idols are a bad mechanic in general...
Really, the way everyone is, they should just buff them all to be as fun (or better) than Regulus. (TB & vamp getting TLC? [e digicons]:ninja:[/e] )
Yes, boulder roll is probably the funnest skill atm. I agree with all of your points, and I'd like to briefly articulate my two major concerns: 1. Since Demigod is not going to have a huge number of heroes, they need to be diverse. Ex, Sedna needs to be able to take the roll of a healer or support or high damage output or a variety of things based on what the team needs. However, as you indicated, diversity is not everything - a
