But in order to do that, we have to deal with the problem of hyper-competitive people who quit games on start if they don’t get the person they want to play with. So I was thinking that on pantheon games, once someone disconnected more than 3 times and it’s greater than 10% of the games in the first 5 minutes that those games would count as a loss for that player. Same for custom games too. What do you think?
Has been suggested since beta with dozens of other good suggestions. What has been done yet is merely bringing Demigod to the level of a normal release :P No much needed reworking of items, added heroes, differentiation of generals vs assassins, foxing of pathing etc. has been done yet. But yeah we ask for to much...
Full price version also crashes a lot. With no reconnect feature this SUCKS.
Imho this is just a bad design mechanic. GPG just didn't got any ideas how to balance minniion properly. Because of this problem they just made them to cannon fodder with no gold/xp for kills. If you take any spiritual ancestor of Demigod (rpgs, rts etc.) one fundamental balancing method is: Punishment for death of your own units. Strangely Demigod is the only game with units/summons that I know that has no

For over 10 minutes I had to listen to his stories "The Adventures of Bunny and Butterfly", though I am a nice guy, I did not protest. I decided to be patient and just play the game. The guy picked random, so I thought he had a clue about the demigods. Anyways, 10 minutes into the game,

Who won? I think 5x Tower rook would be very hard XD
Quoting ViViDGear, reply 6 In starcraft, warcraft etc. the pros don't wait till the last building goes down, they give up to save the winners time. Castling to stale the match is seen as bad manners. This is not Starcraft, nor Warcraft, and most players here aren't 'pros'. If you're going to model your behaviour after the elite and overly dedicated players of another game, that's your business. I only co
Quoting ViViDGear, reply 20 That way demigod would get some dynamic in its demigod cast. Add 4-6 more and you would finally get a great meta game. The optimal strategy of stacking HP isn't going to be changed by adding more demigods methinks. A rethink and adjustment of about 50% of the items in the game is needed for there to be any strategic depth imo. Without any str
mid game...that is the real solution.
If you say it's impossible you have either little imagination or little knowledge of IT :) IT's possible for sure. But with demigods p2p and unstable connection stuff it would be a hassle to implement. No one would talk about beeing impossibility to join a running battleground in WoW :) Even if this game has much more Players per match.
Blizzard is the exception to all rules. Stardock has the potential, and GPG is just well....GPG lol.
To be honest I think GPG will be the problem here. Stardock has showed faith in all Products that wear their name and that they are willing to devote manpower and money for the success of their products. It was an awsome work to remake the whole netcode in minimal time. And that even if Demigod is more like GP
" reply="2" id="2323407"]Merging pantheon and skirmish so that there is just one game mode where you can select any demigod, be matched randomly, and there is a ranked ladder would be a good move imo. Then custom games where the host can select if the game is ranked or unranked. So you have 2 multiplayer game modes: ranked automatch and custom games. There are really not enough players to support skirmish + pantheon + custom g
i think this is a somewhat different debate but ok here goes: For me its obvious gaming in general has come into a situation where the influence/power of customers has tobe improved for it to evolve. What can be observed (check the l4d-l4d2 argument or things that happen in mmos, the batz war in lineage for instance) is that the situation where players are all powerless can be compared to early industrial soci
I had no playable games in pantheon either. Everytime there is someone with proxie even if the connection screen didn't showed it, which is odd. My last game everyone had ~300 ping but no joke: the game lasted 60 minutes, ingame it were just 25 minutes. I will at least stop playing pantheon & skirmish till the connection problems of demigod are solved. I really like demigods concept and all but like ShakeNBake said there are many problems tha
If Starcraft would be like Demigod: - There would be 2 Races with the promisse to add at least one Race after release. - Units would only cost resources one time and would be free to summon again after cooldown is ready. - Tournaments wouldn't be possible because every second match has a crash. - No one would play online because proxies make most onlinematches unplayable. So everyone would play LAN. - Marines could build with 2
Lol nice to assume the worst case :D I had this two times unintentional. I had a horrible game where the game laged from first second. Three enemy players with sim speed of 1 - 2. I played 15 minutes or so and it got even worse. We seemed to lose anyway so I minimized Demigod and started playing WoW. Because demigod needs large ressouces for an strategy game my pc went quite slow and after some minutes I was droped.
I don't agree complete. I had games where someone with 200ms ping caused lag. With 350ms people ingame I ALWAYS get lag. Whats much more problematic is sim speed. There are so many people arround that seem like they use a wooden pc... It's really annoying to have freezes every second. Imho is a sim speed display as important as a ping display.
Signed. The large amount of noobs especially in Pantheon spoils the fun of demigod. I don't understand how people that don't know how to play at all want to compete in a "tournament" like one that Pantheon should be.

Still no new heroes :( Unclean beast is still overpowered. Erebus + Horn abuse is still in. Sedna + lvl3 priest typo/bug is still in. But yeah game is now playable connection wise and at least heart of life was nerfed.
