[quote who="comanoodle" reply="24" id="2154683"] hmmm, unfortunatly, in a wide amount of case, the pirating thing is not a "money shortage", but a "why spend 40$ when i can have it free? i'm smart... bwhahahaha" You are wrong. I'm talking as a teenager. We don't have money to throw around. There are many people who buy games... you can see them on forums, marching together to burn all the pirates on the forum. 99% of them are people who don't live with their parents anymore (= they

The OP is right, you know: Games with no plot in single player are utter failures, even for multiplayer focussed games. Unreal Tournament and Quake 3: Arena had such captivating storylines that excelled them to the top. Counterstrike and Counterstrike: Source should be praised for their unique script writing as well as a singleplayer that properly introduced you to the game. And we all remember the epic that Defense of the Ancients was, what broken up into a trillogy o

[quote who="Siphaed" reply="25" id="2151307"] Quoting vindKtiv, reply 21I'm up there. Seems that most people play the unpatched 91 version though, and a lot of people there are pirates. Still, it is a much better alternative to using Impulse to play. And that's the exact reason I will NOT use it. Doesn't matter if it was so perfect it somehow miraculously made my computer start printing out real money, I still will not use a product that supports piracy like that.

Weizur, add me to your friends list :) Any other legits can too. New people who give it a go post on this thread as well so we can at least try to keep this on front page so it doesn't get pushed to the back pages by all the cry threads. Game runs pretty damn good; so far out of the 3 matches I've played on there (full matches) we had maybe 1 pause for about 5 seconds...everything else has been nice and smooth. Also, I noticed there's Ladder options on Game Ranger....wonder if they'll

Okay, I approve. It doesn't have the fussy setup like Hamachi; and even though there's still pirated players on there, it's not such a big deal as keeping your public hamachi channels clean of compatible peeps. Centralized chat; if more and more legit players start using it it'll be golden. Also has a friends list function, so, keep track of all your fellow players on there so you know who'll be compatible with ya. Hopped in and played a game with a dude, no lag whatsoever. Didn

I'll give it a spin; I've heard Game Ranger being tossed around in some older C&C circles.

If peeps have trouble getting Hamachi to work: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/323040/page/2/ any US Legit players (NO PIRATES!) who want to play, PM me and I'll hook you up some network info.

Well, regardless, I won't vent any further but I will say if any players want to meet up to just PM me on here and I'll let them know the names and passwords for the nets I setup. It's a very good tool to use, and the lag is pretty light on it and handles Demigod well. I just won't try to handle any public nets anymore.

Me: Do you have a legal copy and the latest update? Pirates: No and no. Had a lot that would tip toe around my questions, and even one that said he needed to play the older version because he "scratched" the CD and needed a cracked .exe file t

[quote who="Tidus1492" reply="4" id="2148394"] Currently there is little motivation aside from the ethical to actually purchase the game. There is no added features or capabilities to be had by playing over Stardock's online service. In fact, the hamachi servers have been a step ahead thus far. Once stardock gets things rolling, and moreso when they release content patches with heroes/maps/balance/fixes I figure most of the piraters will either buy the game or quit play

Just updating this: Today, it seems my network is now being flooded by Pirates. Every time I logged in to get a game going, I've had people with bootleg copies trying to setup games and asking me to host. Really, I'm not a morale cop and I can give a crap less if you bootleg or not. I've done my share of bootlegging games in my time; so I'm really not a clean nosed upstanding individual. I will say, however, I blow my cash on companies like Stardock and others who have tried t

[quote who="Tidus1492" reply="6" id="2145657"] I can still play over hamachi with legit updated players, but those hamachi servers are hard to come by, usually have 15 persons / server, and simply don't compare. Cmo4Ever: Our networks have been playing all evening yesterday and today using these guidelines: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/323040/page/2/ So, misleading thread title: The patch did nothing to Hamachi connectivity.

Hey, how about you stop playing with Pirates and play with peeps with legit copies over Hamachi? Lord knows there's been many of us who've made networks over the last couple days for legit players. On another note, I can't believe you had the nerve to come on the Stardock website and actually post a complaint thread that you can't play with your friends who've bootlegged the game. I'm sorry, were they supposed to keep interest in the non-paying customers? <

Oh yeah also: All the guys who played on the Demigod Hamachi networks, I've evicted offliners today just to free up slots. Don't panic, I'm not banning peeps, just trying to keep it open for more players. Will probably do that regularly.

In an effort to help all of the Hamachi players and Network creators keep in steady communication, I've made us a forum community over at Yuku.com so we can all keep in contact without having to dive through the pages upon pages of Stardock forum posts. http://demigodsinexile.yuku.com I invite anyone who is looking for some matches over Hamachi, as well as anyone who's ma

The answer was under our noses the whole time. Thanks to Tom and the other guys who digged this up: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/323040/page/2/ We did this tonight and had a few games with no drops; 1 match seemed slow (like watching fight scenes in 300, so it wasn't THAT bad. Kinda epic.) But yeah, had 4-6 players no probs.

If any forum mods see this: Could this thread get a sticky, maybe in General? I've noticed a few others posting Hamachi threads with their networks; and this one already has 3 + the guidelines that seem to fix everything so peeps can play (We used this same thing tonight and have had AN AWESOME evening. There was maybe 1 match with lag, but it was just slow mo and still very playable.)

Alright, so yesterday I hosted a couple games no sweat. No fuss, no muss kinda setup. As I mentioned in a couple threads already, the overall experience hasn't been the same. Lots of peeps hosting, nobody showing up. We get the occasional successful host; but people have crashed upon joining and thus no matches seem to get going. We tried a silly experiment of getting on Hamachi, then joining a custom game (passworded, hosted by me) on the Internet setup. One guy manag

I didn't abandon Hamachi; I just closed out the networks to experiment with something. The channels are back up now; if it interrupted a game I apologize. Last night, we were having mostly no connections in Hamachi. I heard 1 group got going. I tried Leaf out and no avail....so technically, I came back to Hamachi and wanted to try hosting while I had 1 Network cluster up, which was how I got it to run in the first place yesterday afternoon. I'm really baffled how I was able to host a
