Well I've been playing demigod since launch, have played panth, skirmish, and custom, single and multi, and I've loved the game itself so far, but for a few notable problems. Of course, these pertain to multiplayer. I applaud Stardock and GPG on the work done so far, but there seem to be some key problems. 1. 5v5 is essentially unplayable due to the inevitable lag. This is a problem. It means that Mandala and Zikurat rarely get played, and the fun of playing with 9 other
how do we use the 50% thing--trying to get it for my brother not sure where to look.
Don't believe it's been released yet. They've just announced it.
You shouldn't increase the amount of points given for losing (unless it's only upped to say, 20) Instead, penalize people for leaving the game before it's over.
It's true that one should have a basic grasp of network connection in order to be playing online games, but you have to look at the big picture. You paid for the game, with the assumption that it will work, that you can play both SP and MP, and that you don't really have to be doing anything else except installing it. Does the box say "Some assembly or modification required?" I think not. By all means, I'm sure many of us could easily reconfigure routers, but what about the people
I'd just like to state that TB "rocks" because he's a bit imba. You would think the problem would be noticeable when the dark side of the pantheon is ahead by tens of thousands of points and half of dark plays as TBs. Yes, there are some balance issues in other aspects, and some bugs with each class, but let's be honest. TB is rather imbalanced.
I'll say that I think I'm fairly lucky with a fast university connection that (i dont think) has any blocked ports. But for anyone with one that blocks, this is hugely frustrating.
Fair enough frogboy, and understandable. I'll just continue dorking around in single player while I wait then ^^ Would you be so kind as to give us an announcement on the forums when everything is running smoothly?
The first boot was running slowly, but I just rebooted impulse and it was smooth as a whistle ^^
Well I played alot of single player but haven't gotten the chance for any multiplayer yet. Going to go in for the late shift now, guess ill see wot happens when im back. Good luck kryo
Just a quick curiosity question though. How does the main title screen freeze have to do with server load?
I'll be honest, the game is freezing alot. From what I've noticed, these are common, and I'm getting them too: 1) Freeze after cinematics right before title/menu screen 2) Freeze when attempting to join the Pantheon 3) Freeze when quitting the game Bit frustrating if you ask me :/

Total download time to 100% - 5 minutes. Oh how I love my connection sometimes.
Going to go ahead and double post here saying that I got my key and it took me less than 5 minutes to download haha. Great server setup guys, I really love it.
quoting post If the game was released so early and so many apparent pre-orders, why is there hardly any custom games online? I think I saw one about 10 minutes ago. Could be because of school I suppose, but has it been like this? Demigod isn't supposed to be released until tomorrow. Technically, nobody should be online.
I'm trying to figure out if this is sarcasm or
To give everyone an idea of what I'm talking about I made a mock up of what this would like in Demigod. Here Hopefully everybody can just appreciate the joke and not get hung up on it...
Lol bravo on the mockup. I laughed.

Nice kryo. Thanks for the info.
Sad really. This is why I love games with online play. You have to buy them for the main content. Quite excited for my key, won't lie.

the best you can hope for is that more demigods will be added at a later date (which it seems like they've set the game up well for)
Generals: Oak for Light, Queen Of Thorns for Dark Assassins: Probably Rook if Light, Torchbearer for Dark I've spent far too much time thinking about this
Agreed. I'm sitting here fretting with who I'm going to choose tomorrow.
So, I'm sure there are plenty of threads like this out there, but I browsed the first few pages of General and didn't see any, so figured I'd be the sorry excuse for a forum member who poses the question? Which Demigod will you choose? So far I'm seeing (from the current Pantheon) that the most popular Light Demigods are Regulus and Sedna. For Darkness, Unclean Beast and Torchbearer. I personally am looking at the Oak with great interest ^^
When Sins (or maybe it was GalCiv II:Twilight of the Arnor) released, I got 1MB/sec so I hopefully they've got the bandwidth angle covered for Demigod too Yep, we use a worldwide network of high-speed distribution servers, rather than some local centralized server, so everyone should get very good speeds. We've been doing it that way since Sins was released and I don't think I've ever heard any widespread complaints about s
