I'm not a fan of quote wars(people tend to get embroiled in arguing single points and lose sight of the big picture), but I'm not really feeling much choice in the matter :/.
In a team based multiplayer game? IT SURE IS. How can you fail to grasp this most simplest point?
You clearly either did not read or did not understand my argument and on top of that, you quoted me out of context. Here is the full context of what I said:
Vesuvius
Best thread ever.
I'm actually kind of impressed you managed to turn a game around on cataract. That's hard to do. Then again it looks like your side towers are still standing so I'm guessing they focused too hard on the main entrance and just fed you :P.
I'm really not sure what you want here. You seem to argue that people should be allowed to as they please with no consequence.
I am arguing that punishing people for ragequits is contrary to the interests of the community. To extrapolate that into a "people can do as they please with no consequence" is taking it a little far.
There's a clear moral difference, as those asking people not to rage quit as asking them to fufill a moral obligatio
you can change your user name in your account option. YOU FAIL!!!!!
+1 karma. This is really useful information. I've been wanting to change my name to my alternate for a while now(Doggiedoodle here in case it changes the forum handle as well). I'm not going to argue the same point in two threads. However I will say a banlist for something that the community is
Vengeance and Vyper, your arguments hinge on the premise that doing something in your own interest at the expense of others is bad. This premise is inconsistent with the manner in which you are applying it. Leaving a game early is self serving and does have a negative impact on the remaining players, but it is equally self serving to demand that another person spends their time with you when that person does not want to and this will also have a negative impact on that person.&nbs
Leviathan and exile are playable in 3v3, but what micah said holds, you tend to split off into a 2v2 side and a 1v1 side. I also think Exile is just badly laid out. It's more about who gets artifacts than who gets better reinforcments. That would be fine except it takes a good hour to end a game on exile because of it. We definitely need more proper 3v3 maps.
This is why we need a demiAIDS game mechanic. Pass the heart and you lose your immunity to UB's plague. Horrible and politically incorrect jokes aside, I typically buy the mageslayer as QoT late game and then give it to an assassin ally. Hadn't considered swapping strats with it but you actually could hand it off when one of you has to return to the base for some reason. The trick is you'd need to keep an empty slot in everyone's inventory so the item
Haha. Also note that if your inventory is full and you grab, it wastes the item. I had a game the other day when I tried to give a mageslayer to my reg ally, but his inventory was full when he tried to grab so it was 8k down the drain.
Actually, you're making me think it may be worth it to swap my scaled helm for a visor when I buy the vlemish. Only costs as much as a potion and it would definitely improve my mana regen. Also note that this is somewhat map dependent. On a map like leviathan where you start with a +15 mana/s flagm, the plate visor is a better purchase than the scaled helm and the plenor is better than the vlemish if you have a 21.43 or better mana regen rate.
Right now it doesn't matter much because you don't know who your allies are and who your enemies are, but when arranged teams are implemented, your enemies' identities need to be hidden so people can't cheat the system by canceling searches against better AT opponents.
I'd put this at the end but I'm guessing it wouldn't be read by those it applies to. If you're too impatient to read a long paragraph, please gtfo. Posting things like "wall of text" and "tldr" is nothing short of idiotic trolling. I split the first paragraph because there was a convenient place to do so, but you guys really need to develop a longer attention span because it's entirely possible for a paragraph that size to contain a single, thoroughly developed point. <
I'd much rather see favor points buy doodads than usable items.
If you're getting pushed out of lanes and it's not a 2v1, you're not playing her correctly. I'd say your big problem is that you're staying open or closed. You're supposed to change forms.
Citadel upgrades show a reduced cost in the tooltip but you have to pay full price.
Strangler, I agree that there are many reasons why you should stay in the game(and for the most part I stay in games because of these reasons), however, it is perfectly reasonable to make a decision either way. My point with this thread is that the community response to opting out of the game is just blatantly negative and discouraging to people. When it's taken to the extreme of kicking people, all it does is shrink the community when the "problem"(I use quotes because it really
With regards to the topic title, I do not mean the ragequitters themselves. I don't have a problem with anyone who leaves a game early because of an impossible to win scenario. My problem is that these people are demonized and vilified. Someone even posted a thread to say they had started a site for a banlist of people who ragequit. Leaving/conceding a round that you are most definitely going to lose is acceptable in every other game I've played and this is the reason
The percent they add is lower than advertised. That said, tower health is pretty damned retarded when the strength is set to high so this is probably a good thing. I only noticed this because I forgot to check the settings in the game I just played and the host had the towers set to high. We had buildings 2 and our towers had 9800 health. 25% over 8400 would actually be 10500 health. 9800 corresponds to an additional 25% of the normal health(5600) added to the ba
This has been known about since beta and there have been a ton of threads on it. Apparently it's unintended and will be patched out so don't get used to it :(. It's not really overpowered because you lose gold when you or the minions die and you'll be very vulnerable to area of effect attacks(it's 3360 gold for a full set so this is really expensive). Also, you can get 8 of each type not 6.
Mark of the Betrayer really doesn't need any help. With that and mines, I see slows that look like around 90%(I've heard it's bugged?). Then again, in some cases, having it go off before the ability would actually be a nerf. Sedna could cast heal on herself and eat the damage. Oak's shield would dispel the slow down. QoT's shield wouldn't take the extra hit so it would stay up longer. It's a buff against erebus' mist, he'd have to take the damage before mis
I read somewhere that there's a ping map function which also directs ai allies to that locations.
I've had people rage quit within 60 seconds because I killed them...
This. Also, if you quit because of lag, you deserve the same punishment. Lag is often a temporary(someone on somoene's network may be doing a download or something to that effect) thing and you're ruining it for your teammates with your impatience.
The arguments are there. You're just ignoring them. Status effects cost critical skill points to invest in and they can change the outcome of a fight. If you can purchase a 250 gold scroll and just shrug them off, their value will be questionable early on and they won't scale well at all once the fights are over before their status effect incurring spell recharges. Saying that favor items should be used only to augment your own build is simply short si
Stop it with everything should be fair and what not. Someone who has been playing for 3 months will always destroy someone who just started with or without Favor items. They just add an incentive to keep playing and are a nice little reward for your efforts.
That's besides the point and wrong. It's wrong because there are many people who play the game for three months and are still total noobs. I could e
Available after X number of games played isn't acceptable. If the threshold is low, it's pointless and unfair to players who are just starting out. If the threshold is high, it's unfair to anyone who hasn't played the game for a long time. There isn't going to be a middle ground where it's fair to everyone, the best you can hope for is unfair to new players but not a pointless mechanic. In demigod, the threshold isn't as low as you think. As a rough estimate, you
