So basically what I got out of this was: Content is too expensive to make, and expansions aren't profitable enough, but we still somehow think Demigod is going to magically be successful in the future.

More awesome bugs from the fine folks who brought you desyncs.
Who said SD locked it?
Well, I was the OP, so who else would have locked it?
you wouldn't believe how permissive these forums really are. threads tend to get locked once people start directly attacking each other instead of discussing things. but in general this is one of the most lightly moderated private forums you'll find anywhere. Just wondering why this thread was locked: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/361531 I thought everyone there was having a very constructive conversation. There wasn't any flaming, cussing, or raging. Scared of people seeing a thread that might have anything negative to say about your game, even if its done in a well-tempered manner?
DG's multiplayer matchmaking & connectivity is pretty sub-par & unbearable pretty consistently. I believe all the other issues the OP states stem from this one negative aspect.
I agree with this, but I don't think it's one specific problem with connectivity and matchmaking that causes this. The system just feels like it wasn't fleshed out as a whole. Here's some major things I think the game is missi
Okay. So go play the game you like more. Its that simple. I don't get the psychology that only one thing can be good. Only LoL can be good. Oh only HoN can be good. This is just kind of pathetic. There seems to be some pathetic level of insecurity that you cannot sit still with your own choice so you go bang on the other one. They're both good games. They can co-exist with one another. I want to know why you feel the need to bash Demi
Why did you even post this?
I posted this because I spent $40 on the game, and I feel like I have the right to express my opinion as a customer on how I felt about the product I purchased. I also feel like if someone is visiting the site interested in the game, they might like to see a viewpoint of someone who has been playing from release. I'm not trying to do harm to GPG or Stardock, I'm sure both of them want this g
I've always been a competitive gamer. Ever since playing Starcraft in middle school, I've always enjoyed competitive edge-of-your seat gaming in almost any genre. Starcraft, Warcraft 3, Halo, WoW Arenas, I played and enjoyed the heck out of all of these. I dabbled in DotA a bit, but was never way into it. I started getting a little more into it last winter, and that's when I started noticing all of these spinoff games coming out. Demigod caught my eye, and I had
Here's an idea, let's just have every demigod be invincible. This way, nobody will ever kill you and therefore you'll never fall behind. Everyone will have equal opportunity to get to level 20!
I think not you around here from.
They'll be releasing a demo soon. If I were you I'd just wait for that to make sure.
When I first logged in after the patch, when I clicked on Pantheon it showed that I had selected Forces of Light (I did no such thing!) and that my character chosen was Unclean Beast. I decided to go ahead and hit play, and i was put into a game on Light side as Beast. I played a few more games like this before I got bored of the novelty and switched to a different character.
The only way it's going to take away 33% of a tower's health is if he has maxed out mines. Which isn't possible until you've reached a level where any Demigod can 1v1 a tower. Being able to shoot towers with sniper scope is not a big deal. Don't leave him alone.
I'm fine with the mines, because as this guy stated it takes a while to get to the point where they're going to take it down quickly. Also, they cost mana, which is a t
They should just increase the opacity on it.
My game works. Give me content :)
The official stance is that there isn't an official stance.
Bummer
It was a lame tactic and Item that reduced strategy glad it was moved. Bravo
Completely agreed. This game is and should be all about min/maxing. Doing every little ounce of damage you can while taking as little as possible. At high levels of play it becomes VERY strategic (and very fun, imo). Heart ruined it. Good Riddens. EDIT: Also, to all of you complaining about how "horr
- Activated Concede mechanism - Speed debuffs now have a default minimum move speed based on base move speed * 0.66 - Chat window art fixes, improvement to background for visibility. - When selling an idol we destroy all units created by that idol. - Fixed a bug where minions that have engaged a specified target would lose their target if target moved out of range. - AI - Flag capture checks - Added task ticks - Tightened purchasing priorities <
I suppose I should actually make a legitimate response instead of just poke fun :P This isn't quite as simple as you make it out to be. The map editor is definitely the more simple of the two. However, the more simple it's going to be, the more lackluster it will be as well. If Stardock wants to create a really strong, diverse map editor, they'll have to include all sorts of textures, doodads, and various models for the users to work with. Additionally, it woul
this is a no-braner!!!
Oh the irony...
Why do I have to choose? I'll just buy both and switch between the two for variety :)
I think all of this together would be a bit much, but I do agree that they need buffs. Personally, I think they should scale with your gear (have certain things be based on you. Priests heal more if you have more HP. Attacks scale with your damage, etc.) Or... just add more/larger +minion bonuses on gear
You bought the game on Friday and you've already got the balance issues all figured out eh? Jeez, you must be good... ...or something.
