Just confirmed that Google Desktop was the culprit. After an uninstall and reboot, my friend no longer has any issues loading the game.

Okay people, based one what I've learned, Demigod is affected by browser addons and such. Things such as google toolbar will cause the game to fail to run. I'm guessing spamming the run button works because whatever is modifying the game can only modify the first copy of the game running, so when you spam it enough two will run at the same time, the first one will get caught up by google toolbar or whatever, and the second manages to run just fine.

Thank you for your unbelievably quick and perfect reply. That is exactly the information I wanted to know. If that is worse case, I would love to see the game excel. I thought I would mention that though 39 dollars does not seem like a lot, I only play games like this with my group of friends (playing with strangers is for some reason not entertaining to me). The reason I seem to fret over the price is because though its 39 dollars for me, if I had to convince everyone

Was thinking of buying this game, which would make it the first game I've bought new in 5 or 6 years. I usually just wait a year and get them for 5 dollars used. In many cases its not even worth it to buy a game when it comes out. For example my brother bought Left 4 Dead for 45 dollars or however much it cost and only weeks later it was on sale for 20 dollars. That's not even close to my friend, who bought that Conan MMO for full price of 50 and couldn't sell it, and saw other people begging
