Now I have Att DSL Express With an actual upload close to the advertised 384 kb/s. It is also my understanding that K and kb represent the same thing, Kilobyte (please correct me if I am wrong).
I believe that the discussion of bandwidth used was using kB (kilobytes) but most ISPs rate their speed in kb (kilobits). This means that if your ISP rates your upload at 384 kb/s, this is actually only 48 kB/s. ISPs have been using the subtle distinc

Oak's Raise Dead Ward cannot be killed. This is retarded. Oak can just put up 4 wards by my tower and then go to another lane, while the invincible wards continue to spawn an endless supply of spirits. Once you get fully upgraded ward, with the 75% conversion chance, it is almost self-sustaining. Add in normal creep combat nearby and wards become totally overpowered pushing machines. Plus, spirits don't grant any gold or XP to the enemy team, so they get no benefit out of staying to defend th

Most games include a developer console accessed by ` which allows you to enter a framerate command to get an on-screen display in game. I would like to test my framerate with various video/sound options so that I can optimize my settings but I am unable to figure out how to get the framerate display in game. Any help here?

Simply put, why not push out patches like today's (which made connectivity worse for me, not better) onto a beta server. That way players can try out the new patch and if feedback is good, then it can be released to the main server. If it doesn't work, then people can go back to playing on the normal server. That way we can at least PLAY the game - which is all most of us want to do. This is really a reiteration of what I said before - stop releasing broken code to the main game branc

For example, say you have 100 units that you have to track state for (onscreen units) and you're going to be updating at something like 15/sec: Translation Vector (xyz): 12 bytes Quaternion Rotation (ijkw): 16 bytes So, per unit you're looking at 420 bytes per second to replicate that unit to another machine. 25kB per second is completely fcking asinine. I could literally encode the ENTIRE STATE OF THE GAME down to the positions of every unit and building, their current HP/MP, targets, items, buffs, debuffs, and currently-acting command in a text document and it wouldn't be 25kB in size. It wouldn't even be 2.5kB in size (thats 25kB divided by 10 players). And the honest truth is that you don't need to encode the entire game state in every packet, just simple things like "X ordered to attack Y". C

I am also for camp 1. Since the game will be turn-based, the additional time taken to properly set up "trade routes" and create upgraded items is OK. And, camp 1 allows for expansion to even crazier items in the future - once the proper resources are gathered, of course.

I completely disagree. I enjoy Prison because it offers team-fights. I enjoy the other maps because they give you the opportunity to fight alone. I don't think that any of the maps are too big for a 3v3 (even Mandala) - with less players, this just makes keeping control of the whole map even more difficult/frenetic/FUN. My point is that every map has something different to offer in gameplay experience. If you don't like (read: suck at) some of the maps, then just don't play them. I wi

Rook should have stayed in the left lane and slowed the enemy push using towers while you continued to push unopposed into their base. Rook's defensive power makes him good at resisting pushes 1vX so that was the perfect position for him. As for "hoarding" gold, I try to spend all the gold I can every time I come to base, but I avoid going to base as much as possible (lost XP/flags/kills = bad).
