Now I'm not totally inexperienced as I used to play DotA occasionally(not very well mind you, but I was a bit younger then)... So can I play online without being yelled at every five seconds or should i play singleplayer some more?
DotA has a much steeper learning curve and a much angrier community. So the answer is yes, play online. You paid for the game, who cares what anyone else thinks of you?
I find it very difficult to take any reviewer seriously who claims that DotA is a 3v3 game...

I agree with 2, 3, and 4. However, 1 is patently incorrect. Rook's towers are easily countered by QoT and TB's AoE damage. Considering this is 1/4 of the currently available DGs, the odds that one of them are playing against you are pretty decent. I play TB and I rarely have trouble destroying Rook's towers (and hurting him in the process, if he is standing nearby).
So I'm pretty sure everyone is familiar with Chaosnaska and his antics on these forums. Can we have negative karma if just for him? I'm sure even he would agree; given his forum-troll personality, I bet he'd love having massive amounts of negative karma...
Happened to me twice last game. Still a great improvement from the usual 20x per game. Something is definitely fixed, but not 100%.
A large open beta would have caught all of these problems and prevented your bad publicity. edit: Oh and RakNet now denies being involved with Demigod at all. Looks like they are trying to cover their own asses. http://www.jenkinssoftware.com/raknet/forum/index.php?topic=2406.0
While I agree that the AI sucks and needs all the help it can get, I still do think this is a bug and for new players learning the game I think it's good to know that you can dodge the hammer. Otherwise in online play against players they won't even try, assuming that if they can't dodge the hammer against an AI then they also can't dodge the hammer against a human.
QFT
So far I haven't had too hard of a time getting connected to people. However, after today's patch I started experiencing some wierd stuff in the lobby. First I joined a game and after the game was almost full, I was showing Manwethewise on the Dark team but according to everyone else he was on the Light team. Then I rejoined the same game (to fix the issue) and then nobody could see me. On my screen, I was in Dark team slot 2 and peterpanzy was in slot 1. On their screen, he was in sl
What will increasing favor points by a factor of 10 do? Completely defeats the purpose of having earnable items if people are getting 1500 favor a game. Additionally, I have a comment on what has been called "heal-by-icon" or rather, having a party status list on the left side (like MMO groups) so you can target your allies easily. While this is very convenient, I feel that it removes much of the skill from the game (of map awareness, watching your teammates' HP, etc).
Our most accurate metric at the moment is reasonable projections, tested and found to be true. Things like his ability to permanately stay in Mist form if a player invests towards it, his movement advantage given by Bat Swarm over impassable terrain and the amount and extent of the utility co-efficients stacked on his primary damage ability. We know he can do the first two; feats not as easily replicable by other DGs without significant trade-offs and the third is a more complicated ma
I agree there should be a Healing award, with +10 favor awarded to it, as there is for Damage. Sedna can never compete with me (TB) in game for damage, so it's only fair that she be able to get the Healing award. Although comparing this against Oak's AoE heals and QoT's shield would be difficult to do...
See, this game uses magical thing called netlag And they really need to lower it. I'm sick of playing TB or QoT and having to literally mash on the 4 key for it to register. I'd like to press it just once one of these days.
QFT
Every demigod (except QoT) dominates in the late game.
This is wrong.
My message to you is that, in 80% of games, your late build is irrelevant. Every demigod (except QoT) dominates in the late game. What really matters is who can get there first. Learn how to do these things: Spend more time in the lane than the enemy. (Send enemy running, don't die, kill every o
My usual counter to Venom Spit is to rush the enemy UB as soon as he comes in range. I know this sounds counter-intuitive, but a UB that is heavily invested in Spit (especially early game) is not as effective at melee combat; he relies on wearing you down over time with multiple spits. If you force him to fight you the *first* time, and drain his HP so he has to heal, spit harass is not as effective. This really only works with TB - non-ranged heroes cannot counter spit this w
I normally find that switching forms is not interruptible once your character actually starts the animation. Wait a second for him to start moving, then hit the move command. And I completely destroy both pure ice and pure fire TBs with my hybrid build. Check the pinned list of guides for it...

Erebus owns this map. With Bat Swarm he can blink across the gap from the healing crystal to the middle. He can also teleport across the gap between the gold mine and celerity flags, or from the middle to the XP flag. Bat swarm oooownz
A group with one or more tower rooks using this method to be an absolute dervish on the battlefield. Creepy that he does 666 average damage with all the best items in the game... wonder if the developers planned it that way
So I played my first 5v5 game today. It was quite different than the previous 3v3s that I had played... I noticed that Torch Bearer was much weaker in close combat. Killing enemies was more difficult as they usually had allies to hide behind. There were less opportunities for 1v1 fights and TB died quickly in the thick of a team battle. Everywhere I went I had to face 2 enemies. Remaining at the edge of a fight was important but difficult to do - the enemy Erebus, Reg, and TB constantly rushe
Let me preface this by saying that I love move speed. I played that other game for about 6 years, in which move speed is hands down the best stat. So I have been using Swift Anklet since I got 2985493703 favor with the beta, and I was of the opinion that it was always the best choice for favor items. Today I join a 5v5 game and my Swift Anklet is gone. I only have 205 favor. Owned. However, I have a few random favor items... including Amulet of Teleportation. So I say "
