Oh but I have used it. It's the OS i keep on my old laptop. But it still relies heavily on the command prompt to get things not readily available in the Install Programs thing. Also, drivers were a pain, and I don't think I ever got my Belkin wireless card working when I set up the dual booting for it on my desktop. I haven't tried Mint, though.

I don't mind having custom game settings ranked, but I agree there should be an indicator of non-default settings in the lobby. Until then, you are perfectly capable of checking the game settings yourself. I do every time.
EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at address 0x0044e84c attempted to read memory at 0x00000000
my thoughts is it's a bad install. Either files are corrupt, or missing entirely (based on some of the 'warnings' in the report). If Demigod has some kind of executable to check for corrupt files and fix them, use that. If not, completely uninstall it and then do a fresh install. If that doesn't work, run a hardware diagnostic on your RAM and HDD.

Gadget currently looks like the teleport scroll when it is being cast, and I think looks like the wand of speed buff when it hits the person (though whatever graphic it is when it hits the person doesn't much matter, because it usually gets unnoticed in the death animation)

Well when I try to go to the Microsoft website to research this, I get 'temporarily unavailable' this morning. Suck. Anyway, that error code is for 'internet connection aborted.' I know it's cliche, but did you try restarting? SP2 might not be fully installed until then.

It was your experience, and I can't change your perception of it. However, without strict means of analyzing and proving others' reports of "host quit exploits," this list will quickly lose its integrity and usefulness.

I like Google too. You just won't see me trying to defend them in any debates regarding their business practices.

Scot, if you want any help with the programming side of things, feel free to give me a ping about it. I've not used scmap before, but I have some experience in lua, training in computer graphics, and I'm a software engineer by profession. edit: while i'm sitting here bragging about myself, I should clarify that by 'training in computer graphics', I don't mean in regards to art. I've only limited success at modeling anything myself, but I know how to use OpenGL and moderate posit

I am reminded of Starkers saying that he didn't believe Microsoft data mined because he never saw evidence of it in his personal use. Just because you are unaware that it happens, in light of numerous people stating that is does along with specific examples, doesn't mean that Google does not omit results.
