When was the last time anyone hre saw generals act like generals, and not just spec to be assassins? When was the last time you saw an Erebus Night Walker build, Sedna with Yetis, Oak with Spirits or Queen with Shamblers? I haven't seen them in months. Assassin method of play is overpowered, and needs to be nerfed.
We all know Yetis are broken... and I actually did see a S
You say you want a system where newbies and pros can have fun, and we already have it. New players just need to learn how to play. What is NOT fun, is me losing to a new player who has only been playing 1 day while I have been playing since the release of the game, because of some underdog system that ramps up his stats and he instantly respawns at the citadel, which makes it unkillable. There's nothing unfair or cheating

How about when a game is 2v2... Yesterday I was playing a 2v2 game both players seemed descent but my team had better flag control so one leaves after 10 minutes... this game wasnt decided and it totally ruined it for me... I ended up having to comp stomp just to get the damn favor points :(

Besides getting a 3rd party program that locks the mouse to a specific screen I would have to say no. But since you have dual screens why not make use of them and just run the game in windowed mode and use the keyboard buttons to scroll (its very quick)... there really is no reason to have to use the mouse for scrolling and that way you can easily talk on msn/whatever else you want to do on the other screen with out alt tabbing :)

I have found it easy enough to host games in custom and eject the people who can't connect; however, its worth mentioning that when trying to do Skrimish or Patheon there is no way to eject people and it becomes a real pain when your the one who couldn't connect to one person and are stuck in a game with all bots :) But yes in your case with the router having no NAT options it sucks and i hope this is eventually fixed... I'm really worried that when proxy servers come up this problem
But this problem still affects us all in Pantheon and Skirmish games. It practically appears every game. I'd like word from a developer on this please. Should we get our modems changed? Or is it the ISP? And are you working on a solution. If you were to go to the Demigod Technical Support forum then you would see that there are many other people posting about this... and it does seem to be a NAT problem. Did you try to change your NAT settings to the different modes as described in the forum post that I linked? Even the Cisco article says that there is no way for an application developer to predict how one routers NAT will interact with another its all try it and see what happens. This is why you should try t

Just a thought as my networking knowledge is limited. I think it may be an internal router NAT issue. Since even when you DMZ you are still behind the router and your computer has its own internal ip address. So you're routers NAT has to decide which ip this packet is going to and on what port in this case even though you are now technically open to all those high ports 40k range etc... if the game doesn't use that port and your nat is sending it on port 40k or whatever then it still wont con

Ive been thrown into game with total nubs but I stayed... and still managed a 6-2 record :) Its not like games with such team mates last more then 18 minutes anyway. For now I guess you can rage quit although it does ruin the game for the the other team... I'm sure they didn't just spend 5-10 minutes setting up a match to fight versus AI think about that. Eventually Stardock will give us the good old internal ban list and that will be that no more quitters :)

Thanks for the responses I'll go through the router options again when I get home and ill hopefully post with some positive results. Stack3d thanks for the SS, but it looks like ive done exactly that already... allowed all wan traffic on ports 6100-6200 to go to my internal IP address, the problem has been that its been trying to forward one some insane ports so I believe it might be the NAT thing which I will look into deepr :)

I have the same problem and its generally the same players... so i made a post about it with a screen shot and it looks like for some reason certain players try to connect on crazy ports like 42765 or 2548 etc... which we dont have forwarded... So the developers gotta crack this one somehow :)

So in order to get to the bottom of my connection problems (being able to connect to some people but not everyone) I took a screen shot of my router log. I made sure everything was turned off besides my computer and my server (which i was using to access the router) Then I attempted to join 2 games. Each time there was a person that I could not connect too you can see that they were trying to connect on some random UDP port (check circled log entry). If a tech could ple

I'll try opening up the TCP ports... but i have also downloaded the program that checks what ports you have open and 6073 + 6100-6200 are defiently 100% being forwarded to my machine... not sure what else I can try... I am thinking that it could also be the firewall processor being overloaded in the router when i try to join?? I would like to make sure 100% on that before i go out and buy another 700$ router :(

I have a fairly complex router full of options that im not even sure what most do. Its a Sonicwall TZ170. So far I have forwarded ports 6100-6200 +6073 UDP. I have allowed multicasting as I think I read a mention of this in one of frogboy's guides. From here I am able to get into game lobbies quickly connect to 2-3 people and from this point its just a mess off attempting to connect to the other 2-4 people (as in... it never actually connects to them). This is usually followed by

Would this fix the very high lag spikes some people get in 4v4 or 5v5 matches? Or there is no hope for this? OK in the picture you posted it says to uncheck multicast filtering. On my Sonicwall router I don't have this option, I do however have the option "Enable Multicasting" It just seems like Filter Multicasting is the opposite of enabling it... I could be wrong :)
