If you look at the Options page, under minion control, you can see all the minions selection hotkeys and customise them.

Yes it would definitely help if effects like life drain or mana drain is shown. Still, in light of the available issues at the moment, cosmetic changes would have to wait.
I doubt any more posts will matter any more since the OP has declared himself absent from the Demigod community. I have just this to say: take Regulus yourself and watch how other players counter your apparently 0-skill-required tactics.
I second this, its not that hard to make slight changes to character models (like make them shiny or have slight red glow or something) depends a lot on how the character models are set up. Actually that sounds about right for expected human behaviour. Also, when I read the title, I thought you were going to talk about a new implementation of the A* pathfinding algorithm.
Sad to see you go. Can't say I blame you at all. Hope the fixes will be done in future.
Actually, what I was proposing is to simply organise games with each other through game ranger if Impulse really can't work. We can simply post here an arranged time slot to meet up online and just play. CitizenKane, no prizes for guessing who posted that. I can certainly understand his frustration too. To me, the game (when we can get a game going) is just so fun it almost feels like the frustration was worth it. I can only imagine being able to get that level of enjoyment in the fut
Nah. W40K DoW2 worked straight right out of the box for online in just one week or so worth of patching. I can say that DoW2's multiplayer works marvellous. For a start, it WORKS. Then, the delay in the game is as good as none. Even though they don't use P2P, I can say that even with 300+ ping, I could not feel any delay at all. Why can't Demigod just use a traditional client-server? They claim that 'the connection issues are now behind us', but
According to the latest journal post by Frogboy, there's a minor update for connectivity and future intelligent proxy server handling. Before that, there's talk about 1.1. I guess that's the other patch to wait for.
Quoting CitizenKane2, reply 12I personally have no interest in a refund. I might try out the new AI in single player and see whether that will be enjoyable. <
The latest games are usually evolving from tried and true templates. It's only once in a while that a revolution occurs that spawns something truly original. No fault of the game designers, it's pretty damn hard to come up with anything new, and impossible to not recycle anything. If any game developer wishes to remain in business, that's just the way it is. Fred_Bonaparte is right. Indie game developers are the ones who can still experiment with new ideas. Most large game developers

I don't think this is necessary at all. If anything, it would cause all future Demigods and items to be that much harder to create. The cost of doing this doesn't justify the rewards. All we need is some UI overlay to display a Demigod's inventory.
If Singnet guys can only connect to those from SG, then before this matter is resolve (if ever), we'll just have to meet online together and get games going. Perhaps organise time frames where everyone can be online. It's a lot more fun playing with guys of I'm usually online at 9-11pm any day.
clearly you haven't played or you simply don't like DOTA from warcraft 3 or any of the other similar types of custom games from War3. This game is a standalone clone of one of those custom game types, similar in many respects and different in others. There's a huge following of DOTA and DOTA-esque games which is why this is so fun, go play DOTA or a DOTA clone and find out what the rage is about.
Demigod is clearly not a DotA clone.
Your posts strongly indicates that you're new to this type of gameplay. You're expecting things from the game that inherently isn't supposed to be there, and missing out on things that you do not understand are there. You've taken a positive step though, in asking about it on the forums. Since there's no demo yet (it won't be out for a while), I can't ask you to try it out for yourself. The next best things is to let you read up on the basics here: <a href="http://forums.demig
I was under the impression that it is already launched in Singapore.
CitizenKane can now play online? Seeker are the ports you forwarded for UDP?
hmmm nothing about ping spikes. well I suppose a test and return is in order.
I had a friend suffer from ping spikes whenever the game is 4v4. Turns out that he's on wireless, and packets were being dropped for him whenever it's 4v4. Not Demigod's fault. The smaller upstream bandwidth might help.

Connection issues for the game isn't exactly helping it. I, too, am wondering about the lack of Singaporean players online at any non-office hour time. My guess is that most of the DotA players in Singapore are young teenagers who will not/cannot afford to buy the original copy of Demigod. Pirated folks can't play through Impulse. Many of them are probably playing Demigod through Game Ranger.

Not that I condone rage quitting, but between time and experience in a game, I'll take time anyday. That's just the reality of the situation. The best counter to rage quitters is to play with those you know; gaming friends who don't rage quit. Not everyone has them though.
It's a fine line isn't it? It's as if the moment you start drawing a profit from any service, the line between good will and intention for profit becomes a blur. Frogboy is right about how they've already gone beyond what many other publishers will care to do for their users. While I think the intention for profit has to be there (it's still a business, not a charity; they have families to feed just like everyone else), I think many would agree that Stardock has actively provided more
