It would seem to me that the complain has less to do with playing with/against live players than with the network and online conduct issues. Perhaps wait for v1.01, then host a few fast speed games and see how it goes. If the connections are smooth, you'll find human players to be a lot more exciting to play with/against than mindless bots. Better still, try to get friends to get the game and get online with you.

The disadvantage of not being able to see some of these effects (mist, circle of fire) is ridiculous. Anyone sure that GPG IS actually working to figure this thing out? If they're not I'm kinda pissed and feel ignored, because this issue has been voiced a lot and still no fix is out.
Their top priority is the connectivity right now, which I

As I've mentioned in another thread before, when your game desyncs, it's no use trying to continue the game anyway. You might as well quit and restart the next game. A desync means the game state is no longer consistent between all players.
You know you're gonna open another pandora's box with this thread... I think it's hard for you to present a reasonable case for comparison when you've already claimed that you've never played DotA in the first place. Just for the record, many skills and concepts in Demigod are clearly inspired by those in DotA. Also, while the Warcraft 3 engine is dated, it is far more scalable than the Moho Engine; Warcraft 3 can run on rigs older than it's time, allowing for a wider audience

However, your suggestion about "needless micro" makes me think of another thing. If
I think we'll be seeing a large jump in the number of players online by 29 May. [e digicons]:D[/e] I've actually got more people I know who are wishing to get the game than I (and my already Demigod-playing friends) have coupons to give around.
Well, as they say... great things start from those who dream big. [e digicons]^_^[/e]
The updates are coming in small steps. Try again after this week. We've bought it; we like the game; it's not essential to play it everyday. Might as well wait out this instability. They are trying hard to deliver on their remedy. I'm personally have trouble getting games going with anyone outside the ground of friends I usually play with, but I am just going to be patient.

There are many scenarios for people leaving before the game ends, this will continue even when the lobby / pantheon connection issues are sorted. I understand it isnt the developers fault but doesnt mean they can't provide a solution. As i stated above i know this isnt going to happen, i know there is a lot of work involved, just voicing a suggestion which i think isn't completely implausib
Quoting ZehDon, reply 22 This is GPG's and Stardock's first multiplayer centric title so give them some time. They've had a whole month and a beta to get the main feature of their game working, the multiplayer. And it's still not working properly for quite a big portion of the people that purchased the game. It being their first game centered around multiplayer doesn't excuse not testing their main feature thoroughly, or
Fixed.
When the spinny thingy stops spinning, go to the "My Games" tab. Do you see it requesting an update?
Calm down dude. If you wish to help make things better. You can help by sending your log files to Stardock. Excerpt from latest Frogboy's Journal:
More info please Some people have said “I used to be able to connect fine, now I can’t.” We really need data from those people in the form of their impulsereactor.log files (located in my documents\my games\gpg\demigod) which you can send to <a href="mailto:support@stard
Do you mean it keeps trying to connect you to Impulse and takes a very long time doing so? In other words, does the spinny thingy keeps spinning non-stop even after a very long wait? Have you tried opening Impulse manually, instead of letting Demigod do it?
Personally, I think the updates are great. Things seldom go according to plan for software engineering, especially when dealing with new code again and again. If anything, I very much prefer being disappointed about a deliverable date than the deliverables themselves, especially when I can jolly well afford to.
Did you send the file directly to that Stardock email address with a description of what you did? That aside, I can't identlfy any anomalies in what you've posted here other than the last two lines... not that I'm expecting myself to be able to tell anyway. :P EDIT: It looks like the latest updates got more of us, but I can't be sure. While I still am able to connect to those with whom I regularly play, we could not get a game going because someone would be unable to conn
I've played QoT many times and agree that mode changing is a rather nasty thing to master. There are times when I went to open mode to cast Ground Spikes, only to have my bramble shield broken by some burst damage combo. The delay in going back to closed mode to cast bramble shield seemed like an eternity. Trying to switch between the two forms to juggle the skills to cast on the situation also prevents her from performing her normal attacks. Which is another thing to take into accoun

Don't worry man, we haven't played much the past few days. CitizenKane2 still has trouble connecting. I look forward to mroe games in future, especially with the planned proxy servers.
Like Ke5trel mentioned, it would be a lot better if you would communicate your reason for leaving the game before hand, or even to inform them that you concede. That said, there was a game where one team mate left due to a disconnect (happened during the loading screen) and my remaining team mate and I asked the other team repeatedly if we can just discount this game and create a new one. There was no reply. I so just coordinated with my team mate to leave the game together such that
