I prefer bots too, can't stand their epeen showing underaged dumbasses. However I haven't been able to speed up or slow down the game yet. Supposedly there's an option for it :S

I used to get 17 mbit/s (my max on this connection) to another speedtest.net server but they removed the server from the test.
These are all game engine attributes, about the only thing I can think of where Xray does a truely outstanding job is its atmospheric lighting and shadows, its just not what GSC are good at. So if they focus their efforts on the game using a superior game engine thats got to be a recipe for success.
Getting kinda offtopic, but I do agree. I once read an article about this, with some interesting info about developing y

Oh and I forgot, also: No One Lives Forever (mentioned before), and XIII, cell shading is so totally awesome in this game. And I loved the cartoony effects.
Why the CryEngine? STALKER has an awesome looking 3D engine of its own, albeit a bit heavy on the system, but afaik so is the cryengine. STALKER CS looks awesome with DX10 and they've only just begun! There is a third STALKER game on the way btw, based on version 1.6 of their engine (CS was 1.5) The main reason Clear Sky looks so good is cos GSC put a lot of time and effort into the assets, they have complex, detail

Haha lol. I meant the opposite! Maybe you could make up a rediculous name with an awesome sounding acronym though ;)

FFS again I had a AI player (UB again) does walk back and forth between 2 spots, with nothing actually there, doing nothing! Just back and forth. Later he sat near a tower 2 times, no one around, doing nothing, not even capping the flag 2 feet from him :S
Nah but there's a big difference between professional tools and map editors for the public. It depends on how they would like to present it I guess. Just a basic map editor where enthousiasts can hack a map together, which is relatively simple to make, or make a map editor for every gamer to use, which would require lots of work. Also, most maps require lots of work to work out bugs and finetune it. The 80/20 rule applies.
About the name. It's probably the most difficult part to do exactly right. The thing is, according to your background story the dragon sort of 'teaches' the knight, taking him under his wings (literally probably :p). Also, the dragon comes across as strong, as to the knight who is just a little boy. But in the end you want a demigod, ready to ascend into godhood. That implies power, fierceness, might. So you kinda want to give him a name that suits such a character. I
IMO new maps are MUCH MORE important thing than those 2 new demigods...
Agreed! Although making a map editor is more work than you think. Besides it being a whole new piece of software with bugs on its own, they have to provide you with the 'building blocks' to do it. Making textures etc is a bit too much work for most people I reckon.
nah man the 8th DG just couldn't connect :p
How about Valheru: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midkemia#Valheru
Valheru , also called The Dragon Lords , were the first race on Midkemia, and among the most powerful in the known universe. They rode on the backs of great dragons, travelling throughout the cosmos in search of plunder. Arrogantly presuming themselves to be gods, they also created lesser races to serve as slaves.</p

Hmm I don't know if it's inherent to EASY AI bots, but I often see them do pretty much nothing: * Stand at healing crystal for 2 minutes * Be close to a cappable tower with no enemy around, but just stand there a few yards out of cap range * Walk back and forth between lanes without actually attacking anything or chosing a side * Not helping with enemy DG kill, idling around again * Not responding to enemy attacks on base. Often they'll k
Err I just got an update?
I'll be waiting for some screenshots, don't like plugins (not that I don't trust them I just want as less stuff on my pc as possible)

Aww @ daugher. She's so cute. She must be disappointed that daddy has to work so much. But I'm sure she'll get the personel morale up!
Hmm maybe a routing problem. Have you tried downloading at a more quiet time of day? I downloaded the game 3 times at 2.1 MB/s (about 17 mbit/s) which is the absolute max of my connection. So as far as my experience goes there's no faster way of getting it. Even Steam, which I used to consider as fast, doesn't even get near these speeds.
Probably the same, what I hate more is that there doesn't seem to be any feedback yet about which points SD/GPG are taking up on, or some kind of summary list. They might 'close' the thread later to analyze and make one, but then I'd like to know an ETA on the end of this thread.
