Neither did they with trolls, gnomes, orcs, centaurs (the barren), etc Blizzard isn't holy, neither do they pretend to be, but the younger generation sees all of that stuff for the first time in Blizzard games ;) I still dig Oculus but they need to hurry the f up.

omg this thread is so totally screwed /bailout
Agreed. Key is to just look at the facts. "The combat system is flawed" means nothing to me, but I'll read for myself in the review (where they hopefully elaborate, if not that says enough already) how it works and if I'll like it. Comparisons to other games can also give decent info, if I know the other game. "Leveling up works pretty much the same as in Oblivion" gives me a pretty good idea. In the end it's all about the arguments they give. If they give none then the review sucks to begin
Hmm decent tip, for anyone who is in need of the diskspace. I've stopped worrying about stuff like this.. I used to tweak my OS all the way but in the end you always want to tweak it some more and end up going through a whole lot of trouble to gain.. well.. not so much. I'll probably slim down my Win7 install in the future using vLite (or whatever successor it gets) and wallpapers are a nice thing to safe space on. Not sure if it'll work with an upgrade version though
Honestly I'd give Microsoft a solid +8 for their efforts on Windows 7. It's close to all I could ask of an OS at this point in time. So: +8 to Microsoft -31846730287 for Microsoft NL. Those assholes refuse to participate in the prelaunch price cuts, refuse to lower introduction price around launch time, refuse to drop even 1 euro in price even though every other country on this planet has low introduction prices for Win7 at this time. MS NL just says "we are not participating
Maybe because of the backup mode, which does not work cross-OS. Just reinstall Impulse, it works great on Win7. Reinstalling your games if needed might be a bit of a hassle.
good gameplay + many stories > good gameplay + few stories > boring gameplay + many stories > boring gameplay + few stories [e digicons][/e]
Unique char-related content, awesome [e digicons]:D[/e] Tried often before, so very rarely well thought out.
Aestetics of the male elven mage were definititily the best for me. Did anyone else find the # of background stories to be lacking? Or was that just a limitation of the stand-alone char creator?
Second doubts is part of the hyping process for me. I keep tossing and turning and wind myself up.
I was kind of (well, not really "kind of"..) being sarcastic. You either are in doubt or have second thoughts, not having second doubts. Unless you have doubts. And then have doubts again.
I like having second doubts too, they're awesome.
Thanks for that. What remains is the (cheapest) digital version on Impulse. I can't remember what it was called and can't be arsed to look it up. The more expensive one was the digital deluxe edition. I assume the chear digital one equals the regular version minus packaging?
IIRC it contains Warden Keep, which is extra content. It is included with the more expensive box only. Buyers of the cheaper version will have to pay extra to play warden keep. Correct me if i'm wrong.
God, I agree with above, the commentary on that video is dreadful, they should just shut up.
I would only agree with the current situation if the normal main game would be $7 cheaper. Now this game is not that expensive on retail ($55-ish which is below average here) so I might get it after seeing if it's really a good game or not, but DLC is definitily a black page in gaming history if you ask me. Instead of the promised episodic content for which you would never have to pay for more than you'd play it ended up in being pay twice to get the full game in the first place, in on
I really miss this. I remember breaking open my retail boxes, popping in the game disk, or one of the game disks, finding a chair and just reading the manual. Now, so many games don't ship with printed manuals (again saves in costs but the savings are hardly passed down), and even the PDF versions are crap and not nearly as fun to read.
"Back in the days" it also took you so long to install that you could read the manual begin
Why has this thread been hijacked by a casual vs hardcore discussion? Nobody cares how hardcore their neighbour/friend/some guy 4000 miles away is.
Well AV programs are always a necessity in my opinion, even on a Mac. Thing is, the whole point of a virus/spyware etc is that you do not know it is there. You may think you 'surf safely' and never get a virus, but that doesn't mean there isn't one hiding in there, sending your passwords to a botmaster without you knowing it. Free AV perform just as well as the paid versions, on average. You can however decide to pay anyway, for certain premium features or just to support the developer
I recommend one tool 100% to everyone: SpywareBlaster http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/sbdownload.html 2 great things about this tool: 1. It does not run in the background. You run it, close it, and you are protected, so no system resources loss. 2. It does not remove spyware/adware, it prevents it from even installing in the first place. Has an undo option if you are afraid it will bo
One form of 'difficulty' I hate is lack of saving oppertunities. In does not in fact increase difficulty at all, it just makes it very frustrating to play the same part over and over again to get to the hard part.
There is also the Stalker series of FPS games for your more seasoned player.
I saw more than a few guys on my local forum complain that the game was "bugged" because they kept getting instakilled [e digicons][/e] We had to explain to them that they are not playing COD4 :\
good idea: doing a self-motivation course.
Yes SecuROM is pretty evil in my eyes. Also some CD checks are/were, because even with the legal disk in your drive they sometimes would not recognize it and you could not play. However - and I posted this in another thread already - as long as there is even 1 pirate companies like EA will not blame lost sales on their own flaws but instead keep blaming it on piracy. They could make the most crappy game, sell only 2000 copies of it and go "yeah well piracy screwed us over, we need to
I wonder if game producers count using a crack as pirating. I know it's illegal by their terms, but I use a lot of no-dvd cracks for games I bought. Swapping cds is so 1995..
Well, then you get into the symantics of what exactly is considered an inconvienence, in which case companies will argue that a legit user never sees a problem thanks to the sophistication of their software
Exactly the reason why I made a seperate point about it. DRM can screw up your entire system, but it can also sneak in there unnoticed, which is the whole intent of game producers, and do whatever it wants, including my example. H
