Another point that is important to testing balance: Knowing how to play a demigod is crucial to knowing how to play against them. This is why you get so many beginners crying op. You don't see what really hurts that DG until you have it done to you. It is also is a lot easier to predict what the opponent is going to do and when if you play the character yourself. There are two reasons that this will make a difference in balancing. It will be hard to counter a demigod yo

I agree with everything you said, but at the same time it is important to pick and choose when you use teleports. If time isn't critical it is better to walk and save the $250. I see a lot of people screwing themselves by teleporting everywhere and locking every single flag. At some point this is just too expensive and your opponent's equipment/upgrades will make them much stronger than you.
At this point I doubt anyone is going to go and remove the new favor items. Speculate all you want, but the playtesters have tried them and we haven't. I think at this point the best we can do is wait for the update, then come back with more concrete examples and reasons for what we might request. The updates look fun. Color me excited!
Horn of battle and minions in the tower farm gives you 10 completely tower free seconds to attack rook. If you don't kill him, he won't want to stay around for very long after that.
Well, lets put it this way. Would you rather they spend all of their time on out of game rankings/stats, or ingame issues that actually change your gameplay experience? Personally, getting in a game and having a good time (and playing for hundreds of hours) hardly justifies this sort of rage over a completely peripheral issue.
I can't imagine damage boost/attack speed from morale outweigh damage boost/attack speed bonuses from pen or surge. At level 10, you have +4 damage and +2% attack speed for minions. Level 10 pen increases damage taken by 16%. I think base minion damage is ~20, but with your favor item it's ~30. That means we are adding about +4. So damage boost for minions is about the same. That aside the tradeoffs are: +pen can't be used on buildings, morale boost hurts buildings mor
The main reason I have problems with this is that I iike to use a hotkey to select all my minions and get them moving with me. The other problem is how hard it is to just park a monk at a corner. They are always wondering off and getting themselves killed. I do agree, however, that to be the most effective you should share priests. I'm just not great at doing it.
Yeah, and if you could give out gift cards for free sandwiches with the next one, that would be great.
He was hoping everyone's tears would break their computers. Then nobody would be able to play demigod. It's a classic case of self fulfilling prophecy, you see it all the time. [e digicons]
Lots of people seem to be complaining that "nobody plays any more". I think it's true that the number of people online has dropped a bit. The negative to this is that it takes a bit longer to get into games, but I think there is a positive that a lot of people miss. I have started to notice that I end up in a lot of games with people I have played 3 or 4 games with before. I think this is great, both for making friends, and for getting another chance at someone that played a good game
I'm sure this has been discussed before, but character icons along the side would work well for both viewing team hp and casting things on them quickly
I should be in here. Real life came to my door and I had to leave a game. Sorry teammate [e digicons]v_v[/e]
False. If both teams had a 50 gold item they could buy that allows an instant kill vs a demigod when consumed, would that be 'fine'? Balance is more than one team vs the other. Having a healing crystal allowing you to heal in a lane is painful to the game, and makes it less fun.
But on the other hand, if such an item existed, you would be silly not to use it, unless you made an agreement not to before hand. The devs might want to change this, but while it is in the ga
Trust me if you encounter this tactic you're going to have to pull out all the stops and it'll change your mind dramatically, unless you fight bad players who actually are just that easy to kill.
Fair points. I would say I look forward to getting the chance to see the strategy, but I honestly don't ;). It seems like at least an erebus that wants to make a wave will need to be in the creeps until they are all dead. If he use
A minion erebus or oak is going to have to come out of their towers to get a new wave. I imagine if they are completely minion spec (morale) they are extremely killable, and at worst they won't be able to defend theirselves without their minions. I haven't been in a game against this tactic, but if I see it I will do my best to kill the enemy DG as soon as they try to get to the creeps. In a 3v3 one aoe character could try to hold off the minions, and the other two could camp creeps a
Doubles are fine with me. That's only one counter to think about instead of two. Two generals annoying you with minions? Your aoe just got twice as effective. Getting sniped? Go hp early and run away early. If you get in close you are generally going to be in shape for an easy kill. You should always be thinknig about how you are going to play most effectively to make life hard on your opponent. If your opponent is only using one strategy, it seems like your job just got easie
