I doubt new players object to people of higher skill joining and actually trying to help them get better. What they do object to is people entering a match clearly labeled as "Newbies" or "New Players Only" and then proceeding to complain about their lack of skill. You can take the Nightmare AI to the cleaners and very little of that translates to the online game. My buddy and I have been hosting "Newbie" games since we're both fairly new to Demigod... I find it amusing when people still bitch at us for not being pros. One guy got really pissed off at my friend and started calling him an idiot. I think any person who enters a "New Players" custom game and expects people to know exactly what to do is the true idiot... you know who you are. Az
Thanks for the positive comments folks. I can pretty much trash the AI on nightmare, but online games are so NOT like the AI. Real people can think and they don't make all the stupid and predictable mistakes the AI makes. I usually play a few offline games when I'm trying to remember a build path and itemization for a character. Just a message from a new player.... It doesn't help when folks bitch and complain about the fact that I'm new and am not an expert. I can't get any better unless you're willing to work WITH me and help me learn rather than just ignoring me and bitching at me. I take instruction very well.
