Hi Frog, Anyway I need to retract my statement. I was just a bit angry so I wrote something that was a half-truth. I did manage to get 2 Custom games going. It was me in Singapore and with another guy in Malaysia. We're practically neighbours with a ping of 70ms. Connected fine and we played vs bots. We spoke and then he said he too could not connect to anyone else outside Asia. I just wanted to say that if I could play COH with ppl who ha

Maybe you misunderstood. It's not there's no lag in Demigod. It's that I can't even play Multiplayer to begin with.

I wouldn't have gotten it if I knew I couldn't play Multiplayer. I'm from Singapore and I have games like Company of Heroes, Warcraft, Diablo, Battlefield, Team Fortress 2 are games that I have had no problems with playing and connecting to people in US West, EU. What is so special about Demigod that I can't play with anyone outside Asia? When I asked GreenReaper what Stardock is going to do about us Asians, he basically said that we're screwed, the only way to play is to play

Guys, I was fiddling around with this port forwarding stuff and it didn't work. What did work for me was that I managed to play with people who were in the same city/region (Singapore). It appears that the closer the other person is to you, the higher chance that both of u can connect. From what I'm seeing, people in the US have no problems connecting to each other. It's the people outside the states (Asia/EU) trying to connect to US and Asia people trying to connect to US/EU that's g

I seem to have gotten a grasp of this p2p thingy. To Vow-Kyro, I thought that port forwarding and all that actually helped but it didn't. So what I did was to find people who were in the same country/region and play with them. Guess what. It worked. You may want to try to play with those in the same city or town. I know it's a little strange since for most games, I can play with US/EU players just fine, just that Demigod is a bit picky on who it chooses to shake h

The easiest way to test if your router port forwarding is working as it should is to download any Bittorent client. 1) Install the client. 2) Run the client and wait a minute or 2. At the bottom of the client, there is usually an indicator telling you whether you are firewalled or not. 3) It should say "Firewalled" or "DHT Unreachable" 4) In the settings menu, set the port to say for example 37044. And forward that port in your router

The only game so far that I have had to forward ports and stuff like that. And even after doing all that. It doesn't work.

I think the client/server model is 'the' way to go. Latency shouldn't be a problem if players connected to each other are within the same region. It has worked for many games, I don't see why Demigod should be any different.
Quoting Xinoxlx, reply 17 Every community has jerks my point was DoTA just had the highest volume of them in comparison to my experiences in other games. Although you're probably right on the cause. It's a shame as it was kinda fun when I played it but I just couldn't stand the people anymore. B.Net DoTA is perhaps the worst thing that gaming has ever spawned and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

I just started a Single Player Tournament and am surprised at how laggy and sluggish the gameplay was. When I was playing the Beta, everything was smooth at High Settings. It felt as though that I had turned on FRAPs or a recording software.

To me DotA is an "okay mod" one that saved WAR3 from failure. Your subjective opinion has no bearing on whether or not Warcraft 3 was an objectively good title. To somehow claim that WAR3 would have failed were it not for DoTA is an outlandish and terrible inaccurate claim wi

Hi. I recently tried out the new Beta and was in the lobby screen. However, I have had trouble distinguishing the mini-icons for Oak, Unclean beast. Could the art team team make them more distinguishable? That is, I would know at a glance what DGs my team mates are using. Or perhaps the DG name undernearth the icon? Thanks.

I think it would be best to include voip in the Impulse Dock itself so as not to complicate the game code. Kinda like Microsofts GFWL.
But it doesn't add uniqueness, you end up with one or two setups per discipline. Better to just add the skills and let people go crazy using whatever skills they want.
Sounds so Guild Wars where about 90% of the 1000+ skills go unused. The power disciplines are there to add some additional skills that are unique to the character and the discipline itself. I, as a player would not want to have to pick a sk

Hi guys The extra Discipline adds additional skills to the base 4 skills of a Demigod. In my example post, the Rook still maintains the 4 base skills, however, my idea is then to add a Discipline so that a Demigod can 'specialize'. The Disciplines are not meant to make any Demigod overpowered but to add distinction and uniqueness. And also another idea I would like to add is the ability to surrender a Discipline. This also gives another uniquess to the battlefield

28 Replies 4,486 Views

Ok, I've this idea which works something like Company of Heroes commander tree. Each Demigod player can choose a tree for example, the Rook has 2 or more power trees that goes. This will encourage diversification of the Demigods skills as no one would be able to predict what the other is using without seeing one of the skills in play. Each skill in the power tree has to be bought using skill points or gold. Rook Power Disciplines (Just an example) A)Earthe
