I recently reinstalled GalCiv with the expansion after a long time of not playing but for some reason Stardock won't patch the expansion only the original game! Can someone help me please? [Message Edited]
Elden
I reinstalled Stardock Central and now the download works.
Hi, I've recently decided to start playing this game again after a long break but when I try to patch from 1.20.087 to 1.21.099 using Stardock Central I get an error within a few seconds of starting the download. It says something about English.st_ having an "incorrect filesize". I don't have the expansion. Can anyone help? [Message Edited]
The problem with download is not size, it is using credit card over the internet. The size wouldn't be a big problem.
Well if it doesn't come out retail in Australia I won't be getting it (:(
While it is great to hear that the expansion will now be availabe for sale in America, I am wondering if this game will ever be shipped to other countries such as Europe and Australia. In other threads no-one has given a clear answer so I started this seperate thread for it in hope of an answer.
Just wondering, I don't have a credit card either and I live outside of America so can't send money or a check, is there anyway to buy the expansion in Australia or will I never be able to buy it???
Also if it helps the update field seems to change at random if I log out and in again or refresh it shows various dates throughout 2001 and 2003 and sometimes seemingly incomplete text such as: font>□ or ardock.net servers.□□If are you experienshareware or it blanks out. You can get it by itself without Drengin. Did it show up for you too? I just tried to click download and it did nothing (I would have stopped it if it had worked as I assume it is not supposed to be available)
I posted elsewhere but didn't get a response so I'll ask here. For some reason even though I don't have Drengin.net and haven't ordered Altarian Prophecy. It is showing up in Stardock Central. It is listed as Name: Galactic Civilizations - Altarian Prophecy [Shareware] Installed: -------- Available: Updated: 16/12/2003 Size is listed as 0b And it says I can download it. Is this meant to be happening or is this a mistake?

I forget where it was exactly but in a message about space pirates it said they pr a yed on trading ships where it should be pr e yed.
I posted one of my games and it said it got there but I can't access it to be sure. :( EDIT: Checked my profile and it seems the game uploaded. [Message Edited]
I've only seen screenshots of it happening to the Torians, Arceans and Drengins. I'm fairly sure all races can get it but have never seen it in game. [Message Edited]
everytime i press CTRL L the game crashes back to desktop! any ideas?
Don't press CTRL L. ;) On a more serious note make sure you have cheat keys enabled - yes in the options menu.
They were added in the expansion pack that was free to download with the patches. If you use them you cannot submit that game to the Metaverse. The codes are: CTRL A - Adds hit points, move points, attack points and defense points to selected ship. CTRL B - Creates a battleship at the cursor. CTRL C - Copys the selected ship. CTRL E - Decreases morality. CTRL G - Increases morality. CTRL H - Heals selected ship and restores it's move
What are the Cheat Keys, I cannot find a list now that the one in the news is gone.
It's only for people with Drengin.Net - we have to wait about one or two weeks IIRC
It's an excellent site, give it a look everyone!
And ban him while your at it. >:(
I think you should stop spamming other company's message boards, trying to rip off their product and steal their customers
I usually name them after famous people from history (Mainly politicians and astronomers) EDIT: Sorry I was forgeting how old this thread was :-( [Message Edited]
They are not charging the money for the beta, they are charging it for Drengin.net
Thats not the problem read my post (79) and you'll see what I mean
Guys, it's this simple:Stardock has created a special niche product for those people who are willing to pay for special features. Call it a fan club, call it a guild, call it whatever you wish, but for $30, you get greater access to Stardock products and upcoming releases. Part of this package is that you have the ability to beta-test Galciv releases before they go public. But you are not *paying* to purchase the right to play the beta release. It's more like with your extra access you ha
I do beta testing for other companies and always has been free, and I have found quite a few bugs.
The silly thing here is if you don't buy beta you get the final product free. Thats just plain weird.
