Hi, I keep getting disconnected from offworld matches. Either my screen will just freeze at which point I have to disconnect manually, or I just get kicked from a match. It's frustrating, since it is not easy to find a multiplayer match in the first place. Is there something I should do to maintain a more secure connection? I have cable internet, and I have not lost internet while in any of the matches I've played. I just don't get it.</

I had the minidump problem followed by a BSOD and main memory dump.... My poor PC, its only 2 years old, and I think its on its way out!!! It has a host of issues... I think the Hard Drive is also crashing. X-(
I think I beat Achilles Heel and Apocalypse on "Tough" and the strategy I used on Apocalypse was to completely abandon research and focus on my economy and industry instead. My teamates were more than willing to trade thier tech for the ships I continuously cranked out (and used to defend myself from the Dreadlords). I was really into the story, and loved the Campaign. I turned down the level to Normal for the last few missions though, and the computer beat itself!! It was sort of a
I was wondering if there was any word on the GalCiv 2 morale system. I just started playing GalCiv 1 again (Altarian Prof) and it is slightly disturbing that in order to raise morale I load sections of poor colonists onto a ship and immediately disband it in space. Or later, I just load everyone onto troop transports, which I would think, would LOWER morale, but no, the co
Thanks, I did notice my culture vary from 88 to 93 over some turns, so I guess that was it. Culture Vic option was definately set. :)
I am playing the latest greatest version of GalCiv 1.10a, and I reached a 93% Cultural score, but the game didn't end. Finally I managed an alliance victory. When I went to submit the metaverse score, it said "Test 1 Error 0" :notsure: Anyone else having these problems? Thanks, BoatShoe
I hate the Torians! I have only played 2 games (playing 2nd) but in the first game they were reduced to 2 planets in one sector and they would not surrender. I wiped them out immediately in my 2nd game, because they started with me again. I often find myself muttering "Torian Bastards.." :) The Altarians seem for me to be the most reliable goody two-shoes. Then again I am only on my second game. :p Cheers!
I poored money into destabalizing a system of a minor race that already had a skull and crossbones on it, they eventually defected, but to the Torians, who had 2 systems in the quadrant. I am not sure how half the stuff in this game works! I read about it on this forum at least twice as much as playing..... work work work :( Good Luck!
Sorry, I guess that was posted already, I didn't feel like wading through 17 pages of posts. :p Thanks :)
My game just crashed on tiny galaxy, and the players were at whatever intelligence is default. When I try to load the "last civilization" It just gives me screens with no info and every thing says "test text" It almost immediately crashes again... Sigh, I was so close to victory, (I think).
Cool, Thanks Lucky Jack! :D
Ok Ok..... Perhaps I was thinking more along the lines of a natural disaster, like a Sun that will go super nova in a matter of turns and will wipe out a planet. If the Race can travel in space I would expect most people to evacuate. I can see not EVERYONE making it, but at least they would give it a go. It happens in Sci-Fi books and movies!!
I was wondering if there was any way to evacuate the entire population of a planet and sent the population to other planets. In particular I was thinking of a weapon that would destroy a planet over a number of turns rather than all at once like a terror star. That would give the people time to flee. :) I've only been reading about the game on this forum, so maybe I don't know what I'm talking about :p Cheers!
Yeah I'm a lurker. I've been reading these forums for at least a month if not more. I was going to wait until GalCiv came out and debate whether to buy it, or Moo3. I guess at this point I will pick up Moo3 when it hits the bargain bin. Back to the shadow.....
