This one certainly does.

Galciv has no multiplayer, but then you need nerves of steel and the patience of a prehistoric rock formation to make it through one session of multiplayer moo3. If, that is, people you are playing with are as willing as you are. About the 'amount of options' bit, galciv offers less than moo3, but what it does offer is not only meaningful but also works-as-intended. Good luck trying to make sense out of moo3. Yet, moo3 has a superior combat module, that's for certain.
Overlod, Your second message is fun as hell. Welcome aboard. Your second concern in your first post is moot. This is a game, after all: see MOO3 if you wish to witness the paradox of attempting to have 'realistic game elements'. As for your shot at the AI, it is well aimed but either the gun is too small or the target too big. Try the mods forum for some initial info on how to mod the game and take a look at the ship stats. I've found that with some tweaking here and t
Incidentally, if Stardock's is poor service, then there is no such thing as good service.

It's hard having so much presence on the forums, isnt it? Use Soap. ;)
developer-player, even...
Froggie- There has been only a few games that I've enjoyed playing as much as GalCiv, and one of the biggest reasons for that is this forum and the constant developer-play relationship. Unlike the depersonalized relationship that prevails between the corporation and the consumer, these forums reinforce the idea that who makes these games are as human as we all are, and that they have the same worries and the same hopes as we all do. Just seeing that you react positively to the posts he
The AI should be more aware of rebuilding survey ships after it is lost, by the way.
Try the CorePolParties.PARTY file in your galciv\data directory. You can open it with notepad.
In one sense, there is nothing you can do except play the UI - there is nothing underneath it, the game is it. Thank you, goodbye and goodnight.

When I set it to make only a few credits, I go into huge debt." Same problem here. Game started on 1.03, Large galaxy, crippling w/ universalists. In addition, sometimes my treasury wont be updated until I open one of the screens accessed from the toolbar on the bottom of th
Ask Alexians, they'd know. They stole techs from my enemies on more than one occasion.
I attacked the evil Yor Collective the other day. Not only were their citizens were turned into automatons, crying for liberation, they also occupied a military/economy resource with their nasty starbases.
I upped them a bit thru the text files. I think I increased the defense to two and hitpoints to 15 - AI builds them now, and I've had a few dreads lost to them.
This may sound strange, but I always take the 1-point repair bonus. The reason is that basic repair comes up too late for my liking, and even then isnt good enough alone for a good turnover rate of damaged ships. With the repair bonus, early combats become that little easier.
Cheap! :p
Yes, and it has been fixed a few times now. We're still hoping and waiting, but in the meantime secretly enjoying the opportunity to build the gravity accelerators even if someone else has it.
The only problem is that *I* cant think anything of the NEW Arceans because of this silly decision to let only drengin.net users have the interim patches - it's a pretty cheap call, if you ask me.
All lies I tell you, the Earthlings have no Dreadnoughts near our home planet, it's all an illusion!
Ichimaru, report back when you have some more experience with the game.
In my last game, the genious-level Arceans had a battleship and a defender defending the planet I was trying to assault, Sibil I. My initial fleet of about 8 frigates, 4 battleships and 2 battletransports, augmented along the way with additional forces, had dwindled to only the transports and two battleships, but Sibil was in sight. The problem was that defending battleship. With the bonus that the defenders get while defending from orbit, I did not dare to risk losing my last remaining
Frogboy, Sounds great - I have a slow-ish computer (1gig pIII) and the game plays smoothly for me, even on huge galaxies, except towards very late in the game, and keeping in mind that no one else has complained (and people here complain just about everything, including me) I see no reason why the new tactics shouldnt be implemented for all AIs. (perhaps only on genius or up, or make it optional, or just supply the scripts as seperate files and users can install them at their discretion
Aerain, with your half-witted English and pointless threads, I think you qualify as not only the most annoying but also the 'dumbassest' poster on this forum. As far as I've mistakenly wandered into your mindless posts, no one has called you a dumbass; they instead answered your questions patiently, including me on one occasion. So please, respect other people and what they write.
