I'll apologize in advance for what I'm sure is a stupid question. I just bought the game a few days ago after reading about Crusades, and I'm trying to figure things out. Is it intended that synthetics not have access to most trade and econ techs? Maybe I'm just missing them, but I can't find them manually searching the tree. When I search the tech tree for "trade," a bunch of trade-related techs pop up, but when I click on any of them, they're not in the tree. &nbsp

I have a few suggestions regarding the trading screen. 1. Please provide an indicator of how much technologies and ships cost. For example, next to each technology, provide its research cost in parentheses. This will make it easier to "guess" how much the tech is valued by your prospective trading partner. As it is, it is very difficult to have any notion of how much the various techs are worth, particularly since there is no in-game tech tree that lists their costs. Even if there

I've asked your question before, without getting a real answer. Nonetheless, here is what I surmise from various posts on this board and from the manual (read: this is somewhat informed conjecture on my part): Each planet can build military and social projects, as well as conduct research. Each planet has a capacity for performing each of those three tasks, represented in the form X+Y, where the X part of the total capacity costs $1/unit (I don't remember what GC's currency unit is) a

Cataleptic: Could you explain what you state in your second paragraph? If what you say is true, what's the point of the spending slider? Why not just have a produce/don't produce button? Also, when you say "they either all produce, or they all don't," is that a separate determination for each of the military, social, and research components? If not, what's the point of the MSR sliders. The manual is very unclear, in my opinion. It states, for example, that "The spend rate

The speed ability doesn't seem to work. Whether I choose +1 (4 points) or +2 (8 points), my ships do not move any farther per turn. Furthermore, the speed ability doesn't show up under the "Abilities" tab in the domestic policy screen.

I've just started to play, and have stumbled across a couple of things in the interface that I don't understand. 1. I got a message that my archaeologists discovered some alien ruins or something and that those ruins had converted the planet to one of class 33. The problem is, I can't find the planet. None of my planets show up on the planet list as class 33, and I can't find the named planet anywhere on the map. (As an aside, is there any list of planets that I know about but have
