Is that to say that the comps have different tech trees than the rest of us?
the yor actually survived long enough for you to speak to them in your timeline?
Yeah, surprisingly. I have no idea how they managed to get to Andersona. It should've been out of range, I believe.
Here's my AAR: http://home.epix.net/~mcasey/aarMAY.html Regretfully, all my screenshots were wiped out during some hard drive shenanigans, so this is all text, mostly composed from memory. :( I wrote it somewhat differently. Since this was my first time doing one of these things for a computer game it is written from the perspective of the Terran President. (This is usually how I wrote post-game analyses while playing PBEM Diplomacy as well.) Anyway, thanks
Oh, and do we need a "Deficit Hawk" political party?
I've noticed the Federalists tend to gain ground in the elections when I'm running a high deficit. But maybe a Ross Perot Party could be interesting. ;)
If 30 years is too long, perhaps 15 years (180 months) would work, and still have some basis in reality. Seems to me if the duration of the leases varied, we'd end up with the same thing; most people are going to take the longest one.
Is that what that event does? I always wondered what interest rate they were talking about, since I didn't seem to be making any money off the money I already had.
Just wanted to say that this is merely a suggestion, I'm pleased by the Stardock support so far.
As it stands, I really only see two possibilities when it comes to leasing. You either take the Mitrosoft lease, or buy it outright (although this latter choice is much rarer). I don't think the leasing system makes a lot of sense. Generally, in real life, the larger the down payment, the less the monthly payments, and the smaller the down payment, the higher the monthly payments. My suggestion: turn it more into a mortgage system. Choice number 1 will stay the same, how
Where can I find the AARs, by the way?
Just submitted my game. This was a fun thing to do, thanks for putting it together folks.
If you hit "Show Ships" on the minimap in the upper right-hand corner you should be able to see your starbases as + signs.
It's a shame, really. I'm thinking that maybe I might find 1.02 somewhere and just reinstall it. I enjoyed the game much more back then. Win or lose, it felt like I was getting a fair shake. Everything else aside, give me back fair tech trading and I will be happy.
What changed? I mean, I could generally beat the game on Bright levels at 1.02. Now I always lose at Bright, and usually lose at Normal in 1.03. What gives? I know many of the ship values have changed, which isn't so bad. But it seems almost impossible to keep up with the AI in technology, even if I take the Technologists and +50 Research. And they're tightasses when it comes to trading stuff, too. Any ideas on why I'd be having so much trouble all of a sudden with this ne
Juffowup: like the name. Long live the Mycon!
I don't know. I kinda like the idea of Awesome Cones helping my Battleships out. Dilithium just isn't the same.
There are several different types of galactic resources: balls, cones, boxes, and I probably left out one or two. My favorite resources are the cones.
